The VonHottenstein Homestead is on a 26 acre farm that has been in our family since our immigrants bought the land in 1770. After a recent renovation and modernization while maintaining our rich historical roots, we now invite our guests to enjoy this beautiful farmhouse and included spacious lawns. You can sit on the front porch and watch the world go by and the farmers working their fields, or you can enjoy the quietness of the back yard, the orchard, gardens and fields. Best of all, you have the freedom and spaciousness of your “home” away from home. There are many Amish farms in the neighborhood, and Amish Tourist areas are close by. If you are attending a meeting or convention nearby, bring the family and just relax and spend time together. If you are relocating and want a "home" instead of hotel room or apartment until you find your own home, call or email us for special rates. Our homestead is also an excellent place for your Small Group Retreat or Ladies Get-Away with a large meeting room and smaller breakaway rooms.
The kitchen is equipped also with a toaster, coffee maker, tea maker and blender. The cupboards and refrigerator are stocked with breakfast items such as milk, OJ, coffee, cereal, bread, salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, etc.-enough to get you started. An iron and ironing board are also available. There are many great restaurants in the area if you don't want to cook, or you can have pizza delivered.
Bedroom #1 has a queen bed, bedroom #2 has a double bed and bedroom #3 has 2 twin beds. We also have 2 single mattresses, 2 full size Futon sofa/beds in the den, and a queen air mattress if you need more sleeping space.
We will meet you upon arrival with a packet of information on the area, and can answer any questions you may have. We look forward to sharing our heritage with you and your family and making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Owner's Map of Lancaster
Our children and grandchildren loved to visit great grandma and great grandpa, run in the big yard, help in the garden and pick apples n the orchard. After an extensive renovation, we are happy to share the farmhouse with other families. Joe restores antique European Motorcycles, and Joyce is a Professional Travel Consultant in addition to doing the bookkeeping, caring for the farm and farmhouse , and together we escort small group tours to Europe. We especially enjoy spending time with our children and grandchildren, as well as hiking and reading in our spare time.
