This property is just as described in the listing and the photos are accurate. Very safe neighborhood and building. Owner responds rapidly to all requests/questions. Very close, easy walking distance to Central Park and many delightful restaurants, (Bar Italia, Chat Noir) Food Emporium is a gentle walk for groceries and also has a cafe. The bed/linens are very nice/comfortable and a welcome retreat from a busy day.

This has been my 6th or 7th visit to NYC, and this place is the best I've stayed in! We had a wonderful time and fully enjoyed the location. The apartment's size is perfect and the bed is really really comfortable. There are lots of linens and towels, which you can change as many times as you like. There's also lots of closet space. Cecilia, who lives in the building, was very helpful and kind, and Melissa, the owner, very warm. To buy groceries: The Food Emporium on 68th and 3rd Ave. Will definitely go back.

We have been eleven nights in April for business and holiday and the apartment is as described, the kitchen with everything you may need, space for luggage, lot of towels and clean. Location is great and Cecilia, the lady who did welcome us, very helpfull and friendly. Recomended.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights over the summer (2010) and absolutely loved the space. For a couple, this place is perfect. There is a nice little kitchen, loaded with pots, pans, and various utensils for cooking. The bed is also very comfortable and, most of all, the view from the west-facing window is spectacular! The price is very reasonable, especially when one considers the location and comparable hotel rates (and the fact that I hate hotels). The woman who greeted us at the front door (Cecilia?) was very affable and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in NYC and will definitely go back.

I spent 6 weeks in the other apartment of the same owner and i had a great time. I'm writing here to recomend this apartment for the beautiful location and expecially for the kindness of the owner and the manager. Thank you Melissa and Cecilia, i hope i'll come back soon.

The bed is more than comfortable, linens are crisp & clean. Kitchen is exactly right size. Table/desk looks out bay window which is nice & light is abundant. Address is a good one for biz and it is close to everything for pleasure. Very safe & clean & by NYC standards - there is plenty of room. I will def stay here again. I was working AND having fun. Here are two restaurant recs: not close but divine: Saraghina (Italian and SUPERB) in Bedford Stuyvesant (ignore what you hear about the neighborhood) and Momofuku @ 171 first ave. b/t 10th and 11th. If you like good food - you will love these places. Casual too.

This was my first VRBO experience, and it was a great one. The apartment was exactly what we expected from the photos, description and map. We stayed for a week and were sad to leave at the end. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance - two that stood out were Le Pain Quotidien for a great organic breakfast and Nica Trattoria for amazing Italian. Being near Central Park and Museum Mile was very convenient as well. We can't wait to go back.

Not worth it

The pictures do not accurately tell how small this apartment (room) is. I would not recommend this place because of its size, and the inability to adjust the heat/ac. Location is great. Well maintained and clean.
Owner response:This apartment is a studio and is presented as nothing more than that. It is absolutely false that you can not adjust the air conditioner. It is a window unit and guests have full control of it. As for the heat in the winter, I don't know of any NYC buildings where one can adjust the building's heat. The apartment is heated and if it's too hot you can open a window or use a fan or the air conditioner. To say that it is a "great location" and "well maintained and clean" and still give the apartment a 1 out of 5 seems completely unfair and to title it "not worth it" when this guest was given a discount on an already fair price, as well as an early check-in, is also unfair.
