The adobe walls of Tierra Madre are cool in the summer and warm in winter. This spacious home was designed with the comfort of guests in mind. An adobe house feels like no other. Heavy beams (vigas) span the ceilings in the traditional manner while thick plaster coats the walls. Warmth is provided by radiant floor heat. Imagine living as the Pueblo Indians have for thousands of years, but with all of the modern conveniences. Yes, you can even bring your own notebook computer and enjoy the free wi-fi.
Tierra Madre is north of town, just 15 minutes from the ski valley and five minutes from town. You will feel like you have come home as you snuggle under down comforters and build a fire in the Kiva fireplace. Everything is provided from an espresso coffeemaker to comfortable chairs for those afternoons when all you want to do is read a book.
The outside hot tub is the perfect place to watch shooting stars dart across the dark skies of Taos. For those of you who can't get enough of the great outdoors an adobe walled flagstone patio overlooks the vast expanse of BIA land (Indian Pueblo land). Only an occasional cow can be seen from this private getaway.
It is obvious why the famous painter RC Gorman chose to live right across the road. This is a place of special beauty. |
