A wonderful place to regroup.

With a recent death in the family we were looking for a place to get away and unplug, this did the trick. While not over-the-top fancy this little cottage was just a short walk to the beach and a nice medium-distance bike ride to town. Well appointed and having most of what you would need for a vacation (bikes, grill, etc), this cottage allowed for great evenings cooking outside and listening to the breakers while the boys ran around exploring their surroundings. The only complaint was the construction next door though from the looks of it they should be finished any day now (maybe already?). Wonderful little spot, I would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy cottage close to the water but miles away from the rush.

Fantastic Getaway

My family and I stayed here on our first trip to Nantucket. We couldn't have been happier! To start, Frank and Margaret have done gone out of their way to make the place cozy and livable yet immaculate (I just realized that's part of the description - but it's true!). The furnishings and the place itself all feel very new, clean and well organized. We were appreciative of all the ammenities - not only washer/dryer, dishwasher, cookware, BBQ, outdoor patio, fresh towels and bedding - but vacation bonuses like beach chairs, umbrellas, toys and coolers. The cottage is a short walk from a quiet beach, which was a great option (we were there during high season and many of the other beaches were very crowded). And the drive to downtown is quick and easy (20 minutes, we rented a car or called cabs depending on who was going and what we were planning to do!). The owners were friendly, accessible and very responsive. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and look forward to making it a family tradition in the future.

Owner response:Jenny & Eric, It was a pleasure meeting you and your family, (especially the twins)! We are so happy your first trip to the island was so memorable. That is what it is all about, right? We look forward to seeing you and the family for many years to come. Thank you again for the kinds words and give the girls a hug for us! Be well.

RELAXING

My gf and I stayed at this cottage for the 2nd time this August. We are very picky about where we stay when we vacation. The cottage is fully supplied with everything you will need on your Nantucket vacation. To mention a few, two bikes with baskets, enough towels to supply an army and even an umbrella for the beach. Frank and Margaret's cottage is directly across from the ocean which you can hear at night, if you sleep with the door for the bedroom deck open. Very calming. The word that comes to mind is organised when I think of the cottage. It's also very clean. The owners are the best They want to make your stay as enjoyable and easy as possible. From all the places they suggest for food to always being available if you need to contact them. You will never feel like you are bothering them. Living in NYC, we prefer staying away from town. Staying in Toms Nevers allows you to really appreciate the Island, especially the sunrises from the bedroom deck. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy. Try not to eat as much as we did!

Nantucket Vacation

My family and I had a wonderful time at the cottage. It was a perfect getaway that afforded my family very comfortable accomodations, great views of the Ocean and the location was perfect. We were close enough to everything - yet far removed from the traffic and crowds when we wanted to be in a more peaceful setting. Great biking trails are close by. If you enjoy the simple pleasures in life, this is the place to be!

Stop Searching!

No need to continue your search for the perfect Nantucket beach home - this is the one. A piece of me hesitates to write a review only to selfishly keep it a secret. I have stayed in "many" beach homes over the years and I have yet to find one such as this - nearly perfect in so many ways. Nantucket is such a special place, staying in an area such as Tom Nevers only adds another level. (expect to have much of the beach to yourself!) The owners really took the time to bring all thing finishing touches together not once sacrificing any sort of quality along the way. We will certainly be back.

Great Nantucket Experience

We stayed at this darling home for six days in the end of summer. It was as lovely as the pictures illustrate. It was very comfortable and decorated very much in the Nantucket style. The view from the upper deck was great and we spent many hours there enjoying it and relaxing. The home is also set up with internet access which we needed to keep up with work and very good HD televisions. Access to the beach is close and the beach itself is one of my favorites because it is so private; it feels like your own. I would definitely recommend staying at this wonderful Nantucket property.

Great place to stay!

My husband and I stayed at this property for 3 nights in August for our honeymoon. The water views were good and it is directly across the street from a private beach. Everything was new, clean, high-end and the king size bed was comfortable. It was a long bike ride into town (about 7 miles) and the bus stop isn't quite walking distance (over a mile away) so I recommend a car unless you are a motivated biker. The beach was beautiful but because it's on the southern side of the island the surf is pretty heavy. Wouldn't be the best beach for children but it was gorgeous! Also new construction next door could be a noise issue. But overall our stay was wonderful and we would rent this property again. It really was meticulously clean and had everything we wanted including a great outdoor shower, beach chairs, fully stocked kitchen etc...

Owner response:Jennifer & Drew, Congratulations on your marriage! Your recent review of the property was greatly appreciated. We go to great lengths to ensure a pleasant, memorable stay and are proud that we succeeded in meeting your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to review our property, we hope to see you again next year.

Best of Nantucket!!!!

Our stay in Tom Nevers at the Quintessential Nantucket Beach Cottage was pour bliss. The mood for your vacation is set as soon as you turn off the main road, the cottage is a little over a mile off the main road which makes it very secluded (away from the crowds in towns). As soon as we stepped out of the car we could hear the sound of the waves lightly crashing against the shoreline. We were at once relaxed and in vacation mode. The cottage is adorable and has tremendous curb appeal and gets better as you further explore it. The main floor has windows everywhere giving you a lot of light and that Nantucket breeze. The kitchen has everything you would need and more (the dishwasher was a huge bonus). Frank has stocked the kitchen with all high-end appliances and my favorite was the coffee pot which brewed piping hot fresh coffee every morning. The kitchen had a great eat-in table and all the BBQ utensils you would need. The bathroom is clean and updated with plenty of towels on hands. The guest room is cozy with a washer and dryer (loved going home with clean clothes!), which we used as our changing room. Once you walk up the stairs to the spacious master bedroom, you are greeted with an amazing view from your own private porch. Your view is 360 degrees of water and the charming Nantucket homes in Tom Nevers. The bed was extremely comfortable. Frank really has thought of everything... he supplies you with everything you would need on vacation from bikes, beach chairs, beach towels, an outdoor shower and a beautiful courtyard surrounded by flowers to dine in. The best part of the whole trip was the beach, we hardly saw another person on the beach. You felt like you were on your own private island. We went to a public beach one day and couldn't wait to get back to OUR beach. If you want the quintessential New England vacation look no further! We are counting down till next year. Thanks Frank!

TRULY MEMORABLE! The view of the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean, from the Materbedroom deck, was spectacular, it was reminiscent of our honeymoon on Maui. We could hear the ocean pounding the shore line each night from our bed. Walks along the Ocean front were truly picturesque. We will certainly be back next year. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
