We had a fantastic time at Sandy Cay. It was our first vacation with our baby and the property was perfect for our situation. The condo was clean well equipped for kids-it was so nice that we did not have to rent a highchair or pack and play. Our son had a blast and we enjoyed family time and quiet grownup dinners on the balcony. We hope to come back soon!

Spacious updated condo

We had a great time at this condo. The living area was very large and the kitchen was beautifully updated with all the supplies included. The bedrooms were great size however the second bedroom had a bunk bed which wasn't really good for the guests we had, but would be great for kids. The pool was great and heated but there was no hot tub. The laundry facilities were free and conveniently located right next to the pool so you could do laundry and swim at the same time! Also, we really enjoyed the beach box with the pails and shovels to borrow.

This was the most beautiful, most stocked, most appointed place we've ever rented on vacation. The kitchen had everything you'd ever want to cook your meals, beach toys, beach towels, umbrella, board games, etc. Even the sofa bed was ok! Now I know that I could have left alot of the stuff I packed home. Really nice dishes and plenty of them. nice beah area, complete with chairs. grounds well-kept, people very friendly. The shuffleboard was well-used by my visiting teenage grandson. Family who day visited were impressed and said they would keep itin mind when looking for a getaway. Can you tell that we loved it???? A great place - one I'm sure we'll go back to!

Relaxing Family Vacation

Travelling with our 9-mth old son, this condo provided great flexibility for him to nap, eat and play while still feeling like we were on vacation. The heated pool was perfect for the little guy and the close proximity to the beach allowed lots of walks. The patio gets great sun exposure so we could still enjoy the sun while he napped. Pack N' Play and high chair greatly reduced the amount of gear we needed to bring along.

We enjoyed our stay in this unit, and feel it was a very good deal for the price. Our stay was in late October, and the resort was very quite, as we only saw a handful of other families. Nice pool, nice beach, and the owners provide all kinds of beach and pool toys, games, etc.

First, the main attraction: the beach: white sand, turquoise water still as a pond, not a lot of people, not a lot of development -- plenty of sand dollars and sea shells, perfect temperature... Really, darn near perfect. And the property was great too: clean, modern condo. Enough room for two couples and their young child/children. Heated (salt water?) pool. Steps to the beach. Plenty of parking. Elevator to the second floor condo if you have heavy bags. Note: we were there in late Sept, ie, off peak -- so your mileage may vary as far as how busy the beach is, how much parking is available etc... But Longboat Key, is a pretty sparsely developed area so I would expect it to be better year round compared to many beach areas. Food: The nearby Dry Dock restaurant was fantastic. Right on the water. Great food. Pattigeorge's (also on the water) is great too. The Lazy Lobster was a fun place. Also: St. Armand's Circle and all its shops and restaurants was much closer than I thought it was going to be. And Dianna made everything so easy for us from start to finish. It was really a great experience. We highly recommend this property.

Perfect For Our Family!

We just returned from our family vacation, and I've got to say that this place was perfect! We are a couple with three young adult children (18, 19, 23). When we arrived, the condo was clean, in good repair and exactly as the pictures/description portrayed it. When I booked the condo, I was worried whether or not the unit would be large enough for five adults. I was wrong. We had plenty of room and were very comfortable for the week we were in Longboat Key. Next time we visit the Sarasota area, we will definitely plan to stay here again!

Spent 4 night in the condo which was clean,spacious and well equipped with everything needed for a family holiday. Longboat Key was lovely with a quiet,beautiful beach 1 minute from the condo. Lovely restaurants in the area, particularly Lazy Lobster about a mile from the Condo. Food at the Hilton next door good too. Hope to return soon.

My husband and i stayed a week at the condo, we could not have wished for any thing nicer. The condo, the grounds, and the beach were very clean. The weather was perfect. We plan to stay again next year. Thanks Dianna you are right the only thing we needed to bring was our clothing.I will recommend your condo to every one. In our opinion Longboat Key is as nice as any Island we have ever been to.

This was our second 2-week stay in Unit #208 and we hope to rent the unit again during March 2013. The unit is very clean and well maintained and has all the conveniences to help make a stay pleasant. Dianna manages the unit very well and is just a phone call away if anything needs attention. The resort staff does a superb job in maintaining the beach, pool and general grounds. This unit has to be the best deal at Sand Cay.

A nice place for a quick visit

I needed a place for one night on short notice in SW Florida, and this condo fit the bill. It was comfortable and nicely appointed, with a good size kitchen and living area. The bathrooms are a bit on the small side, and you the spines from the neighbors above is audible. Beach access is wonderful...a 2 minute walk down the sidewalk.

This is the 6th time we've rented from this resort. Each time staying in a different unit. All are very nice. This unit would be particularly wonderful for family with children since 2nd bedroom had a bunk bed; plus they left the utility room door open so that you could use any beach toys, towels, umbrella, games. The new landscaping done 2 years ago turned out beautifully. It's so wonderful to walk the beach anytime you want. The pools open long hours & is easy to get into--not too cold. It was so warm for February many people (including myself) were swimming in the gulf. Lots of bird life on the beach-amazing how tame the hurons are. And,of course, watching the sun set in the ocean is spectacular! Wish we could have stayed a month.

Perfect R&R!

We could not have asked for a more relaxed, easy and affordable 5 day vacation. The condo was comfortable and spacious for our family of six - it felt like our own. Beautiful view of the Gulf from our patio and quick access to the gorgeous!!! beach - which in December we had almost entirely to ourselves. Lots of cool but refreshing swims in the Gulf surf. Bike rides ($35 rental from Ace Hardware down the street) around the LBK neighborhoods; visits to St Armand Circle one night and Bradenton Beach another night combined with 3 nights of grilling out by the beach. The condo is well equipped so all we needed were the groceries! A lovely, lazy week we enjoyed from start to finish (absolutely perfect weather helped!!)

The whole complex is beautiful. The condo is super spacious and extra clean. WIFI & satellite made it easy for us to still work. Came up from long walks on the soft, white sand to have lunch then right back down to the beach to nap in the sun! Could have walked a few steps to the small Hyatt Hotel to get meals but enjoyed our condo so much that we cooked for ourselves. At the end of the day we made frozen drinks with the blender then relaxed on the balcony and looked out at the ocean. Local bus system is great for teens. This is now our favorite place in FL. Bliss...

All the amenities you would expect in a condo. Nice view of the Gulf from the patio. Fantastic beach, nice pool, many great restaurants nearby; Salty Dog (Stone Crab), Dry Dock (Grouper Tacos), Crab & Fin (ask for the Yellowfin Tuna even if it isn’t on the dinner menu). Relax and do nothing, or; run, swim, rent a bike for a week or day, rent a kayak or stand-up paddle (SUP) from: Island Style, visit the Mote aquarium and nearby bird sanctuary, deep sea fish.

We have just got back from out quick trip over to Florida from Wales. We stayed at this Condo and it was simply Super. Our kids were in their element. They loved all the little play goodies for the beach and the pool. The local supermarkets and Blue Dolphin Cafe were perfect for what we needed. The pool was clean and Warm and the beach was great. Having the ability to watch sunsets everynight from what felt almost like our own privte beach was brilliant. We drove down from Orlando after a couple of days doing the parks and found the complex easily. The self catering ability helped us to relax and the WIFI along with great TV sytem helped us feel like we were able to relax and unwind but still stay in touch and the keep all important routine for the young kids. We also thought the BBQ area was useful along with the laundry facilities. NOT often can you come home from a long trip and simply put all the clothes back into the cupboard because you managed to clean it all while relaxing by the pool. We have stayed at Hilton Head (SC), Captiva Island and Longboat and rate this as the best so far. We are already thinking of reasons to come back Thanks again for letting us stay in your wonderful Condo We Loved it

The communication, accommodations and facility in-general were all exceptional. The overall appearance of the facility was trendy (I liked the appearance more than the Hilton right next to this facility) and the pool was a huge-plus with the children. I would recommend the comforts of this facility to anyone wishing to get-away for a while and enjoy their time at the beach, especially the gorgeous sunset every evening.

Great condo. Much bigger than we thought it would be. Very very clean, as well as the resort grounds were well maintain. Very happy with our stay and would definitely come back. I also would say that the handling of the booking and keys, etc. was very pleasant and professional. Sand Cay Beach Condo, 2 bedroom, 2 bath

The owners of the property were very easy to deal with. The property looked exactly like the pictures. It was spotless, roomy and very comfortable. Our balcony had a pool and beach view. The location was perfect for peace and quiet and yet had lots of amenities close by, such as restaurants, grocery stores, shops, etc. We spent most of our time on the beach which was clean and very quiet. The white sand stretched on and on. The water remained shallow for quite a way out, great for kids. Some days the water was calm and peaceful, others it was choppy, which meant for fun times playing in the waves. We stayed for 4 days in late August and we had such a great time, we would recommend it to families or anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway and we would definitely stay again.

My husband and I loved getting away to this place in LBK. He grew up coming here as a kid, and I loved getting to enjoy this gorgeous piece of property along with him. Love the location on the island. We would hop in the car and run into Sarasota for a movie or a quick bite to eat. The condo was spotless when we got there and we loved all of the extras like beach towels and a great kitchen. We will definitely be coming back again!!!

The property was easy to locate and convenient. The photos were accurate in depicting the property; however, pale in comparison to the experience. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the property, the amenities, the supplies and provisions. Close to shopping, salons, restaurants - if you need a break from the beach. The beach in this area was fabulous, not crowded, good for family vacation. We had no problem navigating around the area.

The property's appearance was very nice and location on the beach was excellent. Views of the ocean from the balcony were refreshing morning or evening. The unit was clean and ready to occupy upon arrival. Location to Sarasota, Mote Marine Aquarium and shopping at St. Armands was a plus. We stayed at this unit last month to celebrate my sons second birthday. We had such a great time. The location is perfect. It's just a few steps from the beach. The sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. . The condo unit is very dean and the owner has provided everything from extra towels to all the kitchenware, toys for the kids to play at the beach. We did not find anything we could complain about. The owner was very helpful and friendly in answering all our questions. We definitely want to go back there and stay there again.

We came from Oregon to Longboat for a wedding and took our chance with this VRBO listing. It was perfect! The condo was close to the pool and beach and was even better than depicted in the pictures. The decor was very tasteful and the kitchen was well-equipped. The owner was very easy to work with and answered any questions we had before leaving home, as well as giving us contact info in case we needed something while there (we didn't). We had a wonderful time, but wished we could've stayed longer than the few days we had. Hopefully we'll be able to come back sometime! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

I had a wonderful stay with my family at sand cay,not only was the stay great ,but the people I had gotten the renatl from was amazing in thinking about their guests accomodations.We had a handicap with us,we was right by the elevator.And the condo had everything you needed and them some.I have never stayed any where that I did not need to buy my children beach toys ,beach towels and also the place had toiletry and soap powder ,it had a great view of the pool and very quiet....:) It was a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL STAY... Thank you!!! My vacation was amazing we enjoyed the pool view as well as the beach and a little game of tennis!!! There is also a laundry room for people ,you do not even have to leave sand cay you're whole visit except to buy food.And the beach is private and provides chairs.There is a great beach there as well!!

My wife and I were very pleased with this property. The photos and descriptions of the ameneties within and outside the unit were completely accurate. Dianna, the property manager, quickly responded to any questions and concerns we had. The unit was clean and ready when we arrived. The grounds, pool and beach are well maintained and easily accessible from the rental.

The owner is always available to talk with and is very flexible. We stayed as a family of four and loved the apartment and location. Steps from the beach and pool. Apartment was clean and had a new feel. My daughters loved the bunk bed room and own tv! We felt very relaxed here. I would recommend!

I have been coming to Longboat Key for 30 years and this condo is just as described! Very clean and the photos are right on! The beach and views are AWESOME and can be seen from the balcony. The condo has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. The owners were great to work with and made my stay very nice. I would highly recommend this condo and will be coming back soon! I would also like to mention the condo is very spacious and having 2 full baths is a plus especially when traveling with the girls like I was. It was a great time with my mother and sister! The condo is in a great location with St. Armands Circle within a few miles for your shopping and dining experience! I would also recommend going downtown Sarasota.....lots of art and antiques and a variety of great dining! Marina Jacks is also a lot of fun and you can enjoy going out on a sunset sail or daytime sightseeing boat! Great Place and I thank the owners for sharing it with me!

this was the 2nd time i've stayed at this condo. mgmt is easy / cooperative to work with. location great---about 4 miles from st.armands circle yet there are some other eateries to the mile in the opposite direction. property clean and great access to beach. my only request is that paper towels/TP be provided in the condo like it would be in a hotel.

The best rental ever!

Everything about this rental was great! The condo was perfect, the beach was perfect, we had everything we needed...it really was like home away from home! I will stay again and will use this company again for all my travel needs. The photos of the condo were on the money, it was even better in person. The view from the patio of the ocean was better than in the photos! We visited the Lobster Pot in Siesta Key and I got my 2 favorites lobster bisque with extra lobster added and crab cakes. They were out of this world. I found 2 new favs, the sangria-best I've had and the lobster quesadilla, so tasty with huge chunks of lobster meat. Ruth Chris steakhouse, is a new friend now, I had the filet mignon in a special 3 course dinner they offered that night (appetizer, entree with side and dessert). I found a new jem in the Siesta Key Oyster Bar SKOB to the locals. The Floridian Seafood Pizza knocked my socks off...so good! I can't wait to go back.

As I read the other reviews I see that they are recommended for mostly families or older vacationers. We are a young couple in our twenties, and couldn't have had more fun. Everyone in the complex is super nice. The condo itself is terrific. The beach is as seen in the pictures. It's great. The owners are a delight and make the stay as smooth and easy for you as possible.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway

This condo was very true as advertised, in a great location and very clean. It was super comfortable. What a great, beautiful and peaceful place to stay for a very reasonable price. The owner is very helpful and delightful. I would definitely highly recommend this condo to anyone and look forward to staying here again in the future.

totalmente recomendable, el lugar es de excelencia, llegamos y todo estaba tal cual fue detallado en la pagina, con detalles como shampoo, jabon liquido, toallas impecables, juegos para los niños, colchonetas para playa y juegos de playa, detalles de decoracion muy lindos. Con muy buena ubicacion y una playa a pocos metros hermosa, y por sobre todo la atencion de la propietaria que contesto cada uno de mis correos en forma inmediata para que pasemos unas vacaciones increibles. Si queres pasar unas buenas vaciones es el lugar indicado.

Relaxing beach condo rental in Longboat Key

Our family really liked staying in the condo. Unit was exactly as described by owner and was spacious and comfortable for our family of 2 teenagers and parents. Was great to be able to walk just steps to the beach. Thanks for the booklet with area restaurant info and attractions. And thanks for having board games available for our use!

We have rented many places in Longboat and this condo was perfect. Very clean and great for a family. The condo had everything you need to keep the parents/kids happy. We can't wait to rent this condo again.

Family beach vacation spot at Sand Cay

This condo unit was very family-friendly, centrally located on Longboat Key, and our two kids enjoyed the bunk beds. The weather was terrific and the beach & pool were only a few steps away from the room. Having chairs already on the beach was nice to avoid carrying heavy loads back and forth. Boat rentals, jet skis and fishing areas are all nearby for entertainment purposes. We came home with plenty of sand dollars and sea shells.

Recommended for: Families with young children

We had a wonderful trip. The beach was beautiful (chairs included). The accomodations are all updated and everything you need is provided (towels, cookware, etc). The grounds are well taken care of and the office staff is friendly. We had a small problem while there, but the owner and owner's agent were so attentive and understanding it was resolved in a matter of hours. I would highly recommend it to any traveler who enjoys beach living.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We enjoyed out time at Sand Cay very much. The condo was perfect and the location was wonderful. We enjoyed the shuffle-board and the nice deep pool and well as the beautiful beach. We appreciated having beach loungers to use.

The property was very clean and the unit was like new. Everything went very smooth from day one. On the last day of our stay, we used chairs from Sand Cay (since we were staying there) but were told that they could not be on the beach in front of the Hilton. We were told that "security" from Sand Cay was making us put them back. I tried to call the front desk but nobody would. It made an otherwise very enjoyable stay quite frustrating and seemed very childish.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Our family had a lovely vacation at the Condo. It was very clean and updated. The kitchen seemed barely used. The kids loved having the noodles/boogie boards and sand toys. Which was a big plus for us since we did not have to pack any of that stuff for them. The location of the unit within the complex was perfect for us, overlooking the pool and with a view of the ocean as well. The resort was very clean and well maintained as well. We will definitely come back for another visit.
