Clean, safe and close to the beach

We were two couples sharing the flat and we had a great experience. The owner and the others taking care of the rental was very supportive and always very easy to get hold of. The flat was clean and had two big bedrooms, nice living room and a good kitchen. Took about 10 minutes to walk down to the beach and it felt like a very secure area. I definitely recommend this flat and Playa Del Carmen, we had a great stay!!

The condo was the perfect accommodation for a perfect holiday! Location was excellent being within walking distance from everything. Very clean, spacious and modern. Everything you need is provided: water, ice, towels, washing machine, tumble dryer. We will definitely be returning in a year or two! Beaches are beautiful, being from the UK, we'd never seen anything like that before!

This was our first time renting a place away from home not knowing anything about the process. Where do we start? David (the owner of the condo) was absolutely wonderful to work with. From first contact to collecting the deposit he was first class and honest. He communicated well with us. Every time I had a question he promptly responded back to me. The condo was GREAT! It was as advertised. CLEAN AND SAFE! It was certainly spacious enough for 4 people (2 adults and a 9 and 7 year old). The condo had enough room for everyone to find their own space. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking meals for the family. The BEDS were great. Never slept so good! We will miss those beds. The swimming pool area was just perfect for our needs. In fact, our kids wanted to hang out at the pool more than at the beach. The location of the condo is excellent as well. The beach is 5 blocks away and the kids really didn't like walking down there much. But it is just a couple blocks away from the famous 5th Avenue, a couple blocks away from Hwy 307. Great restaurants all around the condo. Aquachiles---best steamed fish tacos, El Fogon --best tacos al pastor, Las Amigos, Util Pasta, and others were great also. Mega is just 6 blocks away for shopping, Wal-Mart 8 blocks, but we recommend shopping at Chedraui, the best bakery. The location is in a safe part of town, never felt threatened at all. Condo management was great to work with. Our first day there the AC went out. Within 20 minutes they had someone working on the problem. Sylvia was great to work with. Anytime we needed more water I emailed her and within an hour we had more water. The security guards were terrific. PLEASE TIP THEM. They make very little money, but they will gladly help you with groceries, travel bags, and information about the area. Sergio was the best! We loved our time in Playa and at David's condo. We will never forget the experience staying a month in the Yucatan. We can only hope that we will be able to do it again someday. Thank You

Great Condo ...But

The Condo has everything you need... and more. Location is a 15 min walk to the beach or 10 to a large Walmart type store called MEGA. Actual Walmart is only 2 blocks further.I preferred MEGA. The condo has 2 patios , one facing east & 1 west, VERY nice if you want wind or calm or sun or shade. The east side will be looking into the pool area , which is quite tropical and impeccable. Pool is cool but refreshing,Gets sun between 8am to 10:30am in January. Security at this place is beyond reproach, don't even think about it for one second. You will Love this place ...... However The cell phone did not arrive until day 3 The safe could not be opened until day 5 The internet , I had to use the internet cafes. Internet was only stable for 5 to 10 seconds.

Owner response:The problems this guest experienced during his rental are partially due to staff changes with the local condo manager. A new staff person saw the cell phone (which is usually left in the condo) lying on the kitchen counter and thought a guest had left it behind. She returned the phone to the office and put it in the lost and found. It was not retrieved until a couple of days later when it was immediately delivered to the guest. As well, the previous guest left the safe locked rather than open (it is an electronic lock which each guest sets with their own access code). The new staff person did not notice the locked safe. As well, this staff person was not aware that there is a back-up skeleton key stored in the office that allows the safe to be opened without the access code. Instead, she was trying to arrange to have a locksmith open it. Once I was contacted and notified of the problem, I advised her of the skeleton key and the solution. Unfortunately a few days had passed while this was going on - thus the delay in opening the safe. The condo management company is very aware of the mistakes that were made in this instance and have directed the new staff regarding the protocol to be followed (the phone is to be left in the condo and the safe is to be checked during every guest check--out). I am confident that these problems will not occur again. Please Note: We have used the services of this company for over 3 years and have had only a hand full of complaints - 99% of which were resolved immediately. Internet Service - I first learned about the problems the guest said he was having with the internet access from his response to a Satisfaction Survey that is sent to all guests after their stay. I immediately had the local condo manager check it out. Neither the condo manager or the ISP technician could find a problem with the modem or the wireless access. The internet has always worked well for us when we are there and no other guests have ever complained - before or since. I know there is new construction in the area - perhaps the construction disrupted the service somehow. It is Mexico after all and sometimes things don't work as they should all the time. (I get irregular service problems even here in Calgary). The local condo manager is monitoring the situation to see if it happens again and will deal with it immediately if it does. Update: During our 3 week stay at easter, we had no problems with the internet service!

We stayed a whole month here and our only complaint is we didn't have another month. Ideally located a block or two from authentic Mexico and a few blocks to the tourist strip, this is a great place for people who want a family holiday with plenty to do in the area. The beach is a short stroll away, passing great coffee along the way making a great start to the day. The unit itself was super clean, beds are really comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge, oven, etc and a great blender for Margaritas. The grounds have lovely gardens and a beautiful pool with day lounge for sun and relaxing. The owner and agent company provided great service answering any questions we had over the month promptly and helpfully. There is also a great folder in the welcome pack written by the owner that includes restaurant/ activity suggestions that are spot on. There is heaps to do in the area, particularly if you are into your water/ outdoor sports, and cultural activities. I would def recommend this to my friends and family. Restaurants in the area are great, the best is actually directly next door. Aguachilles is the name I think, best ceviche I have had ever, and cheap. We did Xel-ha, Chichen-itza, Isla Hol-box, Tulum and a few others, which was awesome but I am pretty sure most stuff around here is great. We had a great time in Mexico, a big part of which was due to our stay at 207. Pat.

We had a great visit to Playa del Carmen. This was our 2nd trip to Playa and staying at Aqua Terra 207 made it even better. The owner was very accomodating for our visit. We were traveling with our 1 year old son. The pool has a shallow end that was perfect for him to splash in. The condo is just a short stroll to 5th avenue and an easy walk to the beach. At 5th Ave. is the Coffee Cafe with complimentary internet access for customers to stay connected to the world. We'll be back.

Everything that was promised by the owner was fulfilled with extras. It had everything we and our children needed and we were very happy and comfortable. Though the property is not on the beach (it is a short walk) we found this location had many more advantages. It is located between the old and new Playa and this made for a wounderful experience. The owner also had very helpful advice for us. This allowed us to plan and enjoy our first time in Playa even better.
