Lake cabin with a view.
Lake cabin with a view.
We really enjoyed our stay at this luxurious rustic styled cabin. We really loved what it had to offer our family. The hot tub was used regularly and was very relaxing to set in while viewing all that was going on at the lake. Seeing the eagles was rather unique. After supper our family would enjoy playing pool on the pool table that was in the living area. I really liked the kitchen/living area having the open concept and that the sleeping areas are downstairs away from the living area. It seems that the owners thought of everything that someone would want on vacation including a nice TV with DVD/VHS recorder. It was also nice having a washer/dryer. The place was very clean and linens were what I consider to be top quality. This was not the first time we had stayed at the Coleman's cabins/boat house. We had stayed at the boat house in 2010 and enjoyed our visit so much that we wanted to return. Both visits were extremely pleasant. This last visit was this cabin which had all the utensils/appliances we needed (including a dishwasher) to prepare any meal inside or out. Also a grill outside. It was nice being able to step down a few steps outside and be able to enjoy the pier over the water. The kids really loved the sandy bottom of the lake as well as the sandy shore. As I've mentioned earlier, we have stayed twice and will return again in the near future. I honestly don't think anyone can beat the price for staying at such a nice place with all it's conveniences.

We stayed for a week in early Sept. Nice location. Views for the cabin were beautiful. Nice rockers on the deck. Looks like it does in the pictures. But beware, there are no close-up pictures. Check-in & out was simple. We said we'd do our own cleaning. Apparently so does everyone else, with no one checking or doing a good cleaning between renters. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The shower curtain was so gross, I went and bought a new one. It's a log cabin with years of dust sitting between the logs. We wouldn't be caught dead in that hot tub! (although it didn't appear dirty) The driveway is trecherous - full of potholes and drop-offs. The washing machine rinse cycle did not work. We managed for our week, but didn't spend much time at the cabin. This was the cheapest place we could find - I guess you get what you pay for! We won't be staying here again.

Owner response: Hello, Thank you for choosing us for your visit to the South, for your many compliments on our beautiful views along with the ease of our check in process. We are truly sorry that you encountered problems that did not meet your expectations. Our homes are full log cabins both inside and out with many open rustic beams. They are fully serviced between every visit and I personally check behind them. Our policy is to start the dishwasher on departure, so sometimes there may be clean dishes that need to be unloaded. The drive is very long and does have some uneven areas which are a constant challenge for us. We did check the washer several times and did not have any problems with any if the cycles, I’m sorry that you did. As for the hot tubs, I personally manage them myself. I know they are up to code in all areas of maintenance and sanitation. I really regret that you had problems and failed to follow the check in policy and procedures. If you had called as instructed, we would have “walked” over and addressed any of your complaints or concerns. I live right next door. I’m glad you feel that our rates are reasonable; we have set them below their true value. We try to keep them affordable to allow everyone a chance to enjoy some majestic views of God’s beautiful settings. Most of our clientele are repeated customers. Again, Thank You for your visit.
