A century-old guest ranch, Dawn Ranch Lodge is a fifteen acre property nestled amongst towering redwoods on the banks of the Russian River. We are proud to have two of the rare Dawn Redwoods, our namesake, growing on our property. We are just twenty minutes from the beautiful Pacific Coast, and offer rustic tranquility and a contemporary atmosphere. Individual cottages blend harmoniously into the stunning landscape of ancient apple orchards, bamboo groves, grassy meadows and beautifully landscaped gardens.
This lovely Chalet is a cozy duplex overlooking the long meadow. Outfitted with a premium queen sized bed, quality cotton linens and fluffy comforters, you are sure to be comfortable and enjoy a wonderful nights sleep. Furnishings are refreshingly simple; night tables with lamps, chair, closet and small bathrooms. The chalet has a small sitting room separated from the bedroom by French doors with wicker furniture, gas fireplaces and picture windows with stunning natural views. Wake up to the sound of birds singing and the light pouring in. Need more room? Rent two and simply open the door connecting them and make it a two bedroom, two bath.
* Please note that there are no kitchens or kitchenettes and in the spirit of truly getting away from it all there are no televisions or telephones in the rooms. There is a community TV in the lodge as well as board games and books. We do have free wireless internet access resort wide.
Stays include daily maid service and access to all of the amenities of the resort including private river access and a pool, complimentary continental breakfast.
The award-winning Roadhouse Restaurant & Bar at Dawn Ranch features local organic produce and meats, with menus ranging from fine dining to pub favorites. The bar offers and extensive cocktail and wine list, featuring Sonoma's Russian River Appellation wines and locally brewed ales. We are open nightly for dinner and brunch and lunch on weekends.
Among the activities we are happy to arrange for our guests are whale watching, wine-tasting, horse riding, fishing, boating and golf. Armstrong Redwoods Park is a short drive away where you can rent horses or spend the day hiking. There are over 50 wineries in the Russian River Appellation waiting to be discovered by you. Cycling and Mountain biking are common activities in the area. Gorgeous country drives abound as well as picturesque coastal towns and beaches. We are a short walk from the river town of Guerneville with entirely independently owned shops, antique stores, restaurants, ice cream, art and much more. Johnson's public beach is also just a stroll away where you can rent paddle-boats, kayaks and tubes and spend the day relaxing in the sun.
