This rental home... is centrally located in every direction: 5 mins. to the Seabus station... taking you across to the heart of downtown Vancouver; 15 mins. driving to Vancouver using either of our two main bridges; 25 mins. to ski, mountain bike, snowboard, snowshoe or hike on all three local mountains.
Walking distance to post office, library, community centre, shopping and many fine, local and multi-cultural restaurants. The North Shore is just the beginning when it comes to offering interesting sites to see and places to visit. Because of its central location, it is perfect for planning outings in all directions, one and 1/2 hour drive to Whistler and 3 hours drive to Seattle.
This rental home was recently put on the N.S. Heritage List for preservation and as a residence of historical distinction; hand built in 1911. Once inside, it will take your breath away... The balance between maintaining the original Tutor/Craftsman style home together with the love and care that has been brought into keeping it looking so fine all these years, is obvious. Artistically decorated with an eclectic fusion between traditional and West Coast comfort.
A few of the unique features you will find inside are (in no particular order): comfortable sofas to sit in with a good book and cozy blanket; a large, hand made pine table with seating for up to 12 or 14 comfortably; stained glass windows and panels, fir wainscoting throughout living/dining rooms and den; built-in fir cabinetry; large brick fire place with a sweet 24/7 fire burning nicely; cozy bedding; recently decorated and painted rooms; original, porcelain claw foot tub to soak in; TVs and DVDs in all (but one bedroom) rooms; music systems; and no end of little touches to make your stay enjoyable, such as: bath salts and candle light by the tub, magazines and books, alarm clocks by all the beds, cook books along with ALL the kitchen utensils needed to make a meal; table linen for special dinners and vases for fresh flowers. When preparing this home for rental, it was always the first thought... "what special details would be the most pleasing to find and experience while enjoying a holiday accommodation?"
Pick your favorite bed to sleep in from one of the three cozy upstairs bedrooms. There is a large bathroom between them with a walk-in linen closet attached... and a 1/2 washroom on the main floor. On the main floor is a cozy den providing a quiet office space; or can be closed off with a beautiful old fir, sliding pocket door to make a fourth bedroom.
This rental home has plenty of secure curbside parking in a safe neighborhood with long time, kind residents living near by. Owner welcomes you upon arrival; then shows you the ways of the home and, should it be requested, can help with any questions relating to the surrounding City. If you would like a few basic food items to be purchased prior to your arrival; there are reasonable rates for organic and/or non-organic products, please ask for more details.
For guests using public transport; there are buses within short walking distance (2 to 4 blocks)running frequently in all four directions. There are also children's play areas, parks, fields and natural walking trails for jogging or walking in the neighborhood, only one block from the front door.

Rate Details (In Canadian Dollars)
$900/week .. $3400/month (minimum stay; 1 week)
A separated damage deposit fee required in advance. Rate determined at 10% of the
total cost of your stay. All funds must be received two weeks or earlier, prior to
arrival. Damage deposit returned at time of departure upon satisfactory
inspection. All financial transactions made easily through PayPal.
Rental fees/rates include all utilities and amenities.

For many years we hosted International Home-stay Students. They came to Vancouver to attend schools during the day to improve their English. Some stayed for just a month at a time, others for many months. We hosted somewhere near 175 students in all. It was an incredible experience for myself and my family. Of course we had a guest book that they all signed upon their departure. We have three books, bursting at the seams with writing, photos and drawings. They gave deeply touching accounts, of their heart felt gratitude to have been a part of our family during their stay. The feeling was mutual and the incredible number of friends we made have left a lasting impression on our lives. Today we find we no longer require the same amount of space this character home has provided us with over the years. Now, it is a time to experience and share it in a different way.... with you; as you enjoy a visit to the North Shore and the surrounding Greater Vancouver area. One day we hope to see this virtual Guest Book filled with gracious comments as well... to read what it meant to each of you, to stay in this lovely old home that so many others have also shared and enjoyed.
