Stayed here for the week during spring break with the wife and three kids. The cottage brings back memories of the type of places I stayed at in Florida growing up as a kid. It has a lot of character and really grows on you during your stay. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Only downside is the lack of a real shower(bathtub w/ sprayer type hose) in the main bedroom, but the other bathroom has a great shower with lots of water pressure. Sunnyside is a fantastic relaxed location for the general area. You are about 10-15 minutes from the Seaside/Rosemary Beach scene or the hustle and bustle of PCB to the east, so if you are looking for a calmer area to vacation, Sunnyside is it. All the other places were so overcrowed that we couldn't stand it, so I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this area was for spring break. The beach access was easy and it seemed as if we were almost had a private beach to enjoy. Owner was onsite and a gracious host. Our family would come back.
Owner response:We're so happy to hear that you had a great Spring Break in our cottage. One of our favorite things about the cottage is the same as yours - an unexpectedly quiet beach away from the crowds. We last stayed there in the summer, and it was just as uncrowded then. The owners really have done a beautiful job restoring the cottage while keeping its original charm. Thanks so much for the kind words. We look forward to having your family as our guests again soon!

I went on spring break with a few friends and stayed at this cottage. It was a great experience! We had so much fun and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The cottage is decorated so cute and homey. Also, the owners behind the cottage are very friendly and will help you out with anything you need!
Owner response:We enjoyed hosting you and your friends during your Spring Break. I'm happy to hear what a great time you had. Thank you for posting such a thoughtful review. We look forward to your next visit with us!

"The Blessing Cottage" Absolutely adorable, charming, clean, comfortable cottage. My time, and experience there was PERFECT. I fell in Love with the place. The beach was just beautiful, you can take long walks on the beach, lots of shells everyday, or just sit one the sun decks, at the cottage. The owner was very helpful. Fresh fish cook on the grill was great. My overall rating is Excellent, and I would definitely recommend "The Blessing Cottage" it was truly a Blessing in my life to be able to stay for all of Feb. 2012. I will cherish my time there forever. Looking forward to my return. For my nephew he felt right at home. We both did not want to leave. Thank You, to all who make this dream a realty. I miss it all ready.
Owner response:Thank you so much for the very sweet guest review. It's been a pleasure becoming friends with you for the past few months in preparation for your stay. I do believe you hit the jackpot for warm weather in February! We very much look forward to having you stay with us again.

Absolutely adorable! My husband and I and our three daughters stayed for a week over the 4th of July. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the cottage and he was a very hospitable and gracious gentleman. My daughters had a blast on the beach using all of the beach toys the cottage had for their use. We relaxed just lounging around the cottage, used the grill offered, and just truly enjoyed our time there! Fireworks lit up the sky all down the beach on the night of the 4th and we could see everything from the front porch of the cottage! My family and I did not want to leave; we will definitely be back this fall!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your review, Nicole. I'm glad you made use of the amenities we provide there. When I checked in with you after you left, you mentioned that our part of the beach reminded you of when you were a child on vacation at the beach - uncluttered beaches, quiet relaxation, and simple family atmosphere. It reminded me of my family vacations as a child on this very same beach. I'm so happy we could be a part of helping you to create memories with your own children there. Your family was such a pleasure to host, we can't wait to see you all again!

We had an awesome time - we had additional family come stay with us and we had plenty of room. The owners are amazing and so caring. We will be back. This is the perfect location for a laid back and restful vacation. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
Owner response:Thank you so much for choosing our cottage as your vacation spot in Panama City Beach. We enjoyed you and your extended family so much, and I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed yourselves. We'll be looking forward to seeing you soon!

I have not stayed at your cottage, but we may make plans to do so soon. It's been awhile since we visited PCB. Couldn't resist looking thru the px and making a comment. Hope you are both doing well.
Owner response:How thoughtful for you to post those kind words! We do work very hard to ensure our guests find a cozy, beautiful, and inviting "home away from home" when they arrive at our cottage - "The Blessing." I will also add that if you haven't been to Panama City Beach in a while, you probably won't believe your eyes the next time you visit! The city of PCB has undertaken some major developments and beautification projects to update our wonderful beach town. Not only do we have Pier Park (an incredible beachside shopping/dining village), but several new restaurants, shops, and other attractions have been added to make PCB the most family-friendly beach town on the gulf coast. Thank you again, and I hope to hear from you again soon so we can plan your beach getaway.

My family and I recently rented this cottage for a week. GREAT location. You are honestly steps away from a beautiful beach. If you don't like fighting for a spot on a crowded beach, you will love this location. You are only minutes away from the famous Pier Park. And if you like to fish plus stay on budget, then you have to try the pier. Good fishing and nice friendly people there to help you out. Our overall experience is five star with two thumbs up. Our kids said it was the best vacation ever. We are looking forward to a return trip next summer.
Owner response:That sounds like the perfect family vacation! I'm so happy to hear that your whole family had a great time. Like you, we also love the uncrowded beach in our area. That's because we are a couple of miles away from the high-rises and the noise and congestion. Panama City Beach is well-known as a great fishing town, too. I hope you caught a big one at the pier. We'll look forward to seeing you again next summer!

Our family can't thank you enough for allowing us to share in your piece of Heaven. We were able to get away with our daughter by ourselves for the 1st time in almost 11 years. We had such a blast laughing, talking & just cutting up. It was a true Blessing!!! Your Beach Cottage was PERFECT & exactly what we needed. The house was so clean & the decor was awesome!!! Mr. Manning was so nice & polite to us. He seems like a very sweet man. Cara thank you so much for your help! Everything was just as you explained. We had everything we needed. The weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time we were there. Of course we enjoyed eating at Capt. Jacks & Margaritaville. Donuts from Thomas Donuts is a MUST!!! Again the best part of the trip was spending some quality time with our sweet daughter!!! Memories we will cherish forever!! Looking forward to coming back again soon. May God Bless you always!!! Rex & Patricia Burney/Amanda Thornton
Owner response:Thanks so much for the sweet comments! I also appreciate your suggestions for some good places to eat. By the way, you're not the first to appreciate how close we are to Thomas Donuts - it's been a tourist attraction in itself for many years. :) Your weekend spending quality time with your family sounds absolutely divine. I'm so gratified that we could have a small part in making it happen. Your family is delightful, and we'll be happy to welcome you back the next time you need a little beach time.

My family and I enjoyed a beautiful weekend at the Blessings cottage. It is very warm, cozy, and very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. It is located in a walking distance from the beach, and a very short driving distance from Gulf World, Pier Park, and downtown Panama City Beach. We had an awesome time and we will definitely do it again by the end of the summer.
Owner response:It was our pleasure having you, your husband, and your beautiful girls as our guests. I'm so happy your weekend was fun. We'll be looking forward to your next visit this summer!

We stayed at the blessing cottage the first week of May. We absolutely love the place! It is very clean and charming. All of the rooms are decorated with their own them, they are also comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to put our clothes, beach gear, etc. The owner stopped by to ensure everything was ok—he is a nice person. I fell in love with this space and will definitely come back to stay here again. As for the beach—it’s breathtaking. You can be in the water in less than two minutes! The nice thing about this location is that it is a few miles up from the touristy area so you almost have the beach all to yourself. If however you want some excitement, we rented a kayak for the day at a place just around the corner from the house and one day we went on a dolphin tour to swim with dolphins. We had a great time; I have zero complaints about this property. I have very high standards and the blessing cottage exceeded my expectations. -Chad
Owner response:Thanks so much for the awesome review, Chad! What a great Mother's Day treat for your mom. I'm so glad you mentioned the kayaking and the dolphin tour too. I've never done those two activities in Panama City Beach, but now I'm dying to try both! I was also pleased to hear that you liked the restaurants I recommended. I'll have a couple more suggestions the next time you visit.

This was just what we were looking for..near the beach yet quiet. We could easily get to all the "things" that Panama City has to offer and it was so nice to come back to such a relaxing place. loved how everything was decorated...lovely home away from home. We can't wait to go back again!
Owner response:Thanks so much! We love this little getaway for the same reasons. Glad to have you as one of our returning guests, and we hope to see you again soon.

What a relaxing stay! The weather was great and the place was awesome! It fit what we needed to a "T". The grill was a great amenity. The sun deck came in very handy too. Being on the West end of the beach makes traffic light. We had a truly relaxing stay. Can't wait to go back
Owner response:So glad to hear you enjoyed your beach getaway! Being on the west end and "off the beaten path" is one of our favorite things about "The Blessing" cottage. We look forward to your next stay with us.

I found the property situated as described. The photos were very helpful in helping us make a decision on where to stay. We found the property to be clean, well maintained, and suited just to our needs. The sun deck was very neat, and the grill was great!! The master bedroom is situated facing North...meaning the morning sun does not wake you. You can sleep until there are four digits on the clock!! It was just a chip shot over to the beach and just a short drive to Pier Park. Our teenage son found it very exciting...he had a blast! We found everything to be just perfect...can't wait to go back!!
Owner response:Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and for the great comments. We work very diligently to keep things looking nice and keep our guests comfortable. So it's great to have our efforts noticed! We're looking forward to your next visit at the end of the month!

This cottage was probably the best house we could have asked for in PCB! Several college aged friends and I stayed there and it was the best set up with two good sized rooms, two bathrooms, a good sized living room, and a beautiful kitchen. My favorite part about the whole house was the front yard and the upper balcony. My friends and I would play cornhole all the time and there were 3 colorful lawn chairs that the rest of us would relax in while sun bathing. The upper balcony provided a nice get away from the commotion. We would get up early for a cup of coffee, or stay up late for some fellowship late at night under the incredible stars. The beach was right across the street and it was pretty much a beach all to ourselves with no chaos whatsoever. When we wanted the college atmosphere we would drive about 15 minutes to more of the heart of PCB where there were college beach festivities. There was a lot of things to do at night such as delicious restaurants, clubs, bars, and we even had a couple of no spending nights where we would hang out on the beach under the stars. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this amazing cottage to all...it will be your perfect getaway! :)
Owner response:Thank you so much for your sweet remarks, Angelle. And a really big "thank you" to you and all your friends for taking such care of our cottage during your stay. If all Spring Breakers were as thoughtful and courteous as your group, everyone would welcome college students with open arms. I'm so glad to hear about the good times you had during your break. You all are welcome back anytime!

We had an excellent time in Panama City, Beach at The Blessing Cottage. Myself and 3 friends stayed and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a very safe community, close enough to downtown Panama City Beach to enjoy the night life and adventures but far enough away to avoid traffic on the strip. We enjoyed many of the local restaurants. The cottage was cozy and is in walking distance of a public access to the beach. Our overall experience was great. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Owner response:We're so happy to hear that you and your friends enjoyed your week with us this Spring! Your comments definitely echo some of our most favorite sentiments about the location of our cottage - we love that it's close to everything, but just far enough west to avoid the crowds. We really hope to host you all again soon at "The Blessing" cottage.

My wife and I recently stayed inn this cottage for the month of February. The cottage is charming and very comfortable but the photos and caretakers information were misleading. The accomodations were great for two but when the grandkids and mom and dad arrived the place was much to small. We were forced to rent a near-by condo for them.We were mislead to believe there was room for all. The cottage is in need of furniture updates as most was very uncomfortable. The laminate flooring is extremely noisy. It feels and sounds as if you were walking on bubble wrap. The shower is adequate but in need of plumbing updates and repairs. This bathroom is extremely small. The viewing terrace is nothing as it appears on the listing. It is extremely small and the view is nothing to write home about. The gas grille is a small table-top unit fed by small propane tanks. Don't invite guests for a BBQ! The view from the front is of two vacant abandoned houses which we witnessed homeless people entering at night. No problems, but had to be a little more cautious than expected. The back yard is very small and the owners new house towers over you limiting privacy in any outdoor activities. Our major complaint during our month stay at this cottage was the COMPLETE lack of Internet services. We are business owners, and though we were on a vacation we still have to keep in touch with our managers, websites, clients and family. Although there were unsecured networks in the area they were extremely unreliable and we were forced to go to Pier Park to Borders to use their services. I wouldl like to suggest to the owners that they get DSL into the cottage and adjust the rent to accomodate the monthly charge. This is 2011 and everyone lives and breathes on the internet! On the plus side, the beach across the street is beautiful and very quiet. We spent much time there by ourselves and with our family. It was very convienient to have the beach so close. Although the main highway is in the front yard, the area is suprisingly quiet at night allowing for a good nights sleep. We have traveled for years and used VRBO many times in the last 20 years. The age old comment, " Buyer Beware " pertains to this property. Please do your homework. We found extremely nice high rise condos with all the bells and whistles for the same rent we paid we paid for this cottage. Happy travels to all!! Ralph & Sandy South Dakota
Owner response:We were both surprised and disappointed to read the above comments from Ralph and Sandy. I very much regret that they felt misled by photographs or by our representation of the accommodations. I am always completely honest with my guests, whatever questions they may have. And I always encourage upcoming guests to call me at any time with any questions - especially before their arrival. Ralph did ask me beforehand about internet service, and I was 100% up-front with him, stating that we do not provide it at the cottage. He did not seem concerned about it. I also stated the exact sleeping accommodations (2 full beds, 1 daybed, and a twin-width banquette which will sleep 2 adults). So I have trouble imagining that they were surprised when the added adults and children were somewhat crowded. The photographs on our webpage are also 100% accurate and unretouched. The view from the upper deck clearly shows the two houses directly across the street, so that shouldn't have been a surprise either. It is my understanding that they are in foreclosure, as are so many vacation homes, so they are not "abandoned." Most of our guests aren't staying there to host a BBQ for friends, so the grill on the back patio fits the needs of most guests quite nicely. We work very diligently to maintain all the accommodations, to keep everything in good repair, and to provide a clean, well-manicured cottage for guests who want to get away from the high-rise condos with multi-level parking garages and elevators to wait on. A cottage is a very different experience than a high-rise, and you can see from our guest comments that most people found our cottage to be warm and inviting, just as represented. As always, I welcome any and all questions because I want my guests to be completely certain what to expect. Our main goal is to provide the best possible experience for all our guests.

Just an absolute adorable "quaint" cottage. Very neat artwork and unique. Great location -love the birds feeding in the yard! Love also having the coded door entrance-very convenient. Suggest you get a queen bed in the master as a full is just not adequate for 2 people!
