Historic Eastside cottage description
Tucked away down a quiet dirt lane in a secluded compound, Dunshee's Casita is a two-bedroom adobe guest house. Spacious yet cozy, the Casita is furnished with country antiques, featuring traditional New Mexican details, a kiva fireplace, skylights, cable TV/ DVD player, and the artist/owner’s personal touches: fresh flowers, homemade cookies, folk art, great books and gracious hosting. The Casita has a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a Mexican tiled bath and two private patios, one sunny, one shady. Dunshee’s is ideally located in the historic Canyon Road area, about a mile from the bustle of the Plaza.
The fully-equipped kitchen is stocked with all you'll need for a healthy breakfast including gourmet coffee, fresh juice, seasonal fruit, yogurt, homemade granola, and a variety of delicious muffins. If you opt for the daily rate, your breakfast treats will be restocked daily.
Dunshee's is ideally situated just one mile from the bustle of the plaza, and a few blocks from the galleries and restaurants of Canyon Road. After a day of skiing, hiking, exploring the ancient Native American sites, or combing the flea market or shops downtown, you'll appreciate the solitude and comfort of your own cozy retreat. Relax in front of a crackling fire in winter, or unwind in summer on your patio while you enjoy some of our famous sunsets.
Owner Susan Dunshee lives next door, and is happy to give directions and candid opinions on where to eat, sightsee, shop, and hike, and to make sure you make the most of your time in the 'Land of Enchantment'.

Our Best Vacation Ever!
Our Best Vacation Ever!
Dunshee's was recommended to us by former guests we met at a party. They raved about this place and said we had to stay there if we ever went to Santa Fe. My husband and I went to Santa Fe this Spring and everything we heard about Dunshee's B & B was true. We saw the photos online and they were an accurate reflection of Susan's sweet little place. The location is so close to the center of town but you feel as if you're in your own little world. We stayed in the "casita" and it couldn't have been more perfect; it was our own little home. Susan stocked the refrigerator with beautiful food, there were fresh flowers on the table, and great, fresh-ground coffee. Waking up in the cozy bedroom was heavenly and every creature comfort we wanted was there. We walked to the main plaza every day and were even closer to the Canyon Road art gallery district. Closer still were terrific restaurants all around us. We loved "Geronimo's", despite the pricey menu. Lower priced restaurants were just across the street and really good, especially the tapas at El Farol! Susan gave us tips, suggestions, and directions to wherever we wanted to go. She was beyond helpful and her home-made muffins and cookies were delicious. We shopped around, looking for fair hotel and B&B prices. After our stay, realized what a great deal we got for our money. We'll return to Santa Fe and when we do - we'll definitely stay at Dunshee's.

Santa Fe native knows authenticity
Santa Fe native knows authenticity
If you are seeking an authentic experience in an old quiet neighborhood near downtown Santa Fe, yet away from the commercial tourist scene, this is an ideal choice. It is a comfortable spot to relax after a day of sightseeing, outdoor activity, attending performance, or conducting business. The physical layout of the casita provides privacy as well as common space, making it ideal for a family or two couples. The flowers, indoors and out, are beautiful, the breakfast food delicious and healthful, and the kitchen convenient for preparing other meals. The on site owner is very knowledgeable about the area, ongoing events, where to find what you need, and the range of restaurants a few blocks away as well as across Santa Fe. A Santa Fe bus route is a long block away. The photographs capture the considerable charm of this casita. We try to stay at this casita whenever available.
