We just got back for our week long stay at Woodland Waters. What a great place to be with family and friends. This place is blessfully isolated and the road back to the property along the river is fairly rugged. In our group we had 4 aduls and three kids. The kids were 4-4 and 2 and they had a great time. There are a couple of places to make a fire in the evening and we all really enjoyed being together around the fire. We went fishing in the river and caught about 15 fish in about 15 minutes. The fishing and boating is great. We took out the canoe daily and enjoyed the peace and quiet on the river. We made a couple of day trips to Raystown Resort and Lakemont amusement park in Altoona. We met the owners who were very helpfu and gave us the lay of the land pretty quickly. The place was nice and clean with a couple of tvs and sattelite that provided all the channels we needed. They also have wireless internet. Your cell phones will not work put long distance calls on the land line a free (VOIP). We used the grilll nightly and the outside dining table was great. I really would like to come back in the winter and cosy up with the indoor fire, watch some college football and let the rest of the world slip away.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I am writing this review from the Woodland Waters cottage. It's 10am and I am sitting in the patio since 8am with my tea and listening to no commercial bird concert. I will probably be staying here all day since the bbq grill is just nearby. Woodland Waters is very comfortable and clean. Whatever the owner says is what you get and more. A very good find.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

My husband, myself and our Chihuahua stayed for 6 nights at this cabin last summer and loved every second of it. We spent hours out on the river every day canoeing up and down. The water is so clean and so clear that we could watch the fish swim around the boat. And the water was so warm which surprised us for a river! The owners are always willing to do any and everything they can for you. The house is decorated and made to feel like you live there, not that you're just visiting. We've been searching everywhere for another vacation spot this year and can't find anything that compares. If this cabin wasn't booked all summer, you can bet we'd be there again! It's everything you could ask for and more!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

This place is beautiful, not at all what you would expect driving down the road to it. The owner Bruce was very easy to deal with and went above and beyond to make our weekend enjoyable. There are a lot of steps to go up and down to the fire pit but that was not at all a big deal for us. The cabin is very spacious with a wonderful upper deck and it was very peaceful. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a very quiet and peaceful time.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

An absolutely fantastic getaway. The mountains, the river, the house, the seclusion - all make for a relaxing and inspiring getaway. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We had an amazing weekend. The weather was perfect; we canoed and grilled and made mountain pies, fished and tubed down the river. We had plenty of room to walk around and explore.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

We took a chance picking your cabin off of the internet, but it couldn't have worked out better! The kids had a great time. We spent a lot of time in the canoes, swimming in the river, and fishing. The kids each caught their first fish.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
