This Legendary Dream home at the entrance to the "Camano Island State Park" sits on its own bluff and is known for some of the most remarkable, unobstructed ocean views and privacy on the entire Island. A rare, one story, open craftsman style home, has huge picture windows from every room to give you breathtaking views of Puget Sound, the boats to and from Canada and the Island's sea and wildlife. This sacred home was custom built for his wife by Al Emerson, the first forest ranger on Camano Island. Enjoy the peaceful walk to the nearby famous "Al Emerson Nature Trail", which was dedicated in his honor. This is the ONLY home available that is at the entrance to the state park.
This secluded, quiet haven sits safely above the flood zones and is everything you would desire to feel like you've finally gone to heaven. A deck that wraps around most of the house, enables the ocean, lush trees and sky to touch all of your senses. Due to the positioning of the property, you feel like you are ocean front, floating in the clouds with privacy as one of the main features, yet steps away from the magnificent Camano Island State Park. The Island even has its own "airplane landing strip" for those who come by private plane.
This unpretentious home is furnished to make you feel like royalty, with a secluded water view master suite which has a floor to ceiling hand carved 4 poster canopy bed, and a world famous Nikken magnetic mattress(which is endorsed by the World Federation of Chiropractics and may just give you the deepest, most healing sleep of your life). Also in the master suite is a freestanding fireplace and sliding glass doors that open to the deck. At the opposite end of the home is the second custom furnished bedroom with its own full bath and views of the trees and ocean from the sleigh bed.
There is a woodburning stove next to the kitchen in the living/dining area- all with ocean views-and the spacious kitchen is big enough for dancing!
For you rugged, outdoor types, there is an attached huge 3 car RV/boat garage with its own full bath and gymnasium. Hiking, fishing, crabbing, boating and picnic areas are conveniently located within walking distance. Camano's own golf course is just a short drive within minutes of the home, next to the town center with various shops and a grocery store.
If you are fortunate enough to be here over the fourth of July or New Years Eve, the firework shows over the water and Whidbey Island will take your breath away!
As the deer, bunnies, bald eagles and other wildlife stop by to visit, be sure to greet them because this is also a designated registered wildlife habitat owned by the founder of one of the first all-volunteer, foster-home pet rescues of its kind in the country. Ask about making a donation to the charity, Recycled Pets Rescue, and receiving a signed copy of her inspirational award winning book, My Recycled Pets: Diary of a Dog Addict.
When this vacation ends, perhaps with one of our many rainbows smiling at you in your rear-view mirror, you will drive away feeling blessed and maybe even holding back a tear or two.

The Unique Benefits at this House
I was always running, rarely having the time to sleep or take care of myself with so many senior and sick animals in my care and this environment has been one where healing and miracles continue to occur. Writing and music have flourished here and I completed (and released) a second edition of my book, "My Recycled Pets: Diary of a Dog Addict," which has a mind-boggling, miraculous, true ending that happened in this home. My own life force returned in this home and it touches people in a way that words cannot describe. May the same happen with all who pass through these doors.

In 1987 I founded one of the first all-volunteer, foster home pet rescue charities of its kind and organized the first mobile dog adoptions in Southern California. When my first rescue dog died unexpectedly at the age of 18, I was driven to start a new life over the water in a surreal spot- a serene place to continue my writing. I was drawn to Puget Sound, where I spent months searching for my magical space. When I walked through the front door of this home, I almost passed out over the amazing water views, openess and privacy. This touched me in a way nothing else had.
I drove across 2 states to begin my new life with 4 of my unadoptable rescue dogs, one who was 19 and could barely walk, Skooter-boo 200IQ. The day after we arrived, Skooter was missing and was found in the middle of a 50 foot vertical cliff that he had fallen down after quietly wandering off when I thought he was asleep. I was frantic, phoned 911 and 2 Camano Island search and rescue trucks with 5 men arrived. I wasn't sure if Skooter was alive, but when they pulled his body from the cliff, Skooter strutted back to our house without a scratch on him and after that, started hiking for the first time in his life! That was the beginning of many bizarre miracles I encountered in this home, which resulted in me releasing a second edition of my book. Skooter was written up in the local paper and became quite popular. This is the most supportive community and I am blessed with dream come true neighbors who are always there to help.
Due to the changes in the economy, the donations to my charity have almost completely stopped and I've had to fund it on my own, which is why I listed my beautiful home here. May it bring miracles to your world as it has mine!
