This private luxury residence is the picture perfect get-away with its secluded and magnificent location right on the shores of Long Island Sound. The house is aglow with the warmth and magic of the holiday season with lavish decorations, a large fireplace, and an 11-foot Christmas tree in the living room. It is elegantly furnished with oriental rugs and fine antiques throughout. The three lovely bedrooms feature gorgeous water views and their own bath. A sitting room with day bed may be used as a fourth bedroom.
This special house faces south with a 180-degree view overlooking the Thimble Islands and Long Island Sound. The sunsets this time of year are truly spectacular, with the sun appearing to drop into the waters of Long Island Sound. In addition to the natural beauty that surrounds the house, it is ideally located to take advantage of cultural events in nearby New Haven and Hartford, as well as to provide easy access to all that Connecticut, New York City and Boston have to offer.
The house is located in a small scenic village within the town of Branford called Stony Creek, one of the most popular residential communities on the CT Shoreline 12 miles east of New Haven. Stony Creek was developed by the quarry workers who came to work in the famous granite quarries that give the town its name.
The house was totally renovated in 2002 and is furnished throughout with antiques, oriental rugs, fine art, and slate floors. The kitchen has custom rift-sawn red oak cabinets and granite counter tops, with doors that slide open to reveal a water view or close to provide a paneled dining room. It is a very comfortable house with all amenities, including a 42" HD plasma TV and wireless internet. Two of the three bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds, the third has two twin beds which may be joined to make a king. The den has a single daybed.
Please note that this home is the owners' permanent residence is only available for two weeks during the December holidays. Because of its proximity to the water, it is not recommended for children under the age of 6.
