With magnificent views of the Thimble Islands and Long Island Sound right at its doorstep, this secluded luxury residence offers serene and comfortable living. It is elegantly furnished with oriental rugs, fine art and antiques. Three bedrooms feature water views and private baths. A sitting room with day bed may be used as a fourth bedroom.
Town beaches, scenic New England village greens, quaint shops, nature walks, boat tours, and fine restaurants are all just minutes away. In addition to the natural beauty of its surroundings, the house is ideally located to take advantage of cultural events in nearby New Haven and Hartford, as well as to provide easy access to New York City and Boston.
The house is located in the quaint village of Stony Creek, one of the most popular residential communities on the CT Shoreline, 12 miles east of New Haven. Stony Creek was developed by the quarry workers who came to work in the famous granite quarries that give the town its name.
The kitchen has custom red oak cabinets and granite counter tops, with doors that slide open to reveal a water view or close to provide a paneled dining room. Amenities include a 42" HD plasma TV, wireless internet, screened porch, large garden terrace, and 30-foot pier. Two of the three bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds, the third has two twin beds which may be joined to make a king. The den has a single daybed.
Please note that this home is the owners' permanent residence is only available for a minimum stay of one week. Because of its proximity to the water, it is not recommended for children under the age of 6.

We lived in this home last fall and watched a spectacular autumn unfold over the waters of Stony Creek. The house fit our needs perfectly (including visits from family). The house is uniquely located overlooking the thimble islands and remnants of an old trolley line that runs from Pine Orchard to the Creek. On Sundays, we'd walk that trolley line and encounter old friends from the New Haven area. This home is magical and we remember it fondly.
