Newly built in 2005, this gracious log home has all the mod cons and comforts of a chique upscale dwelling while maintaining the coziness of a country retreat.
Screened from the road by the variety of trees on the site...trees, which in spring are surrounded by a carpet of trilliums...you will catch first glimpse of the cottage about halfway down the curving driveway....finally fully revealed as you arrive in the parking area just above the entrance. Yes, you have probably guessed it.....the site is a sloped site which adds to the grandeur of this special property. We have left the site as natural as possible...no manicured lawns!!
The placement of the cottage aligns with the best views to the south and south west of beautiful Baptiste Lake. Your first appreciation of the magnificent views awaits as you step into the entry. This first glimpse is just a taste of the natural beauty surrounding your vacation home.....a panorama from the expansive deck lakeside is still to come.
To the left of the entry is the spacious living area. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with all your basic cooking and eating utensils boasting stainless steel appliances and butcher block counter tops. A giant pantry cupboard with easy access double doors will accommodate all of your personal non-perishables.
In the living area a cathedral ceiling with exposed rafters, windows at both ends at ceiling height, and a double sided gas fireplace separating the kitchen from the living room, all contribute to this open plan concept.
A card room off of the living area provides access to the BBQ deck which continues around the house and across the full lake side, providing an enlarged area for dining and sunning off the living room. Our glass railings allow for unobstructed views of all there is to see from your perch above the lake....even whilst lounging.
To the right of the entry is the bedroom "wing". The master bedroom has a private deck and a European style en suite bath with walk in shower. The second bedroom is also on the ground floor. These two bedrooms have very comfortable new queen size beds. The third occupies the whole of the 2nd floor and contains 2 twin beds. All bedrooms are of a generous size, with double closets for your belongings.
The main bathroom, with tub and shower combo is located between the two ground floor bedrooms.
The unfinished walk-out basement provides ample room for storage of fishing equipment, water toys, etc.
Just off the deck, a winding stair takes you on an easy descent to the rock lined shoreline of Baptiste Lake and a large dock. Just imagine basking in the sun, enjoying the lapping of the water against the shore, taking a swim, setting off in your canoe or boat to tour the lake.... Makes me want to go there right now!
However biased we may be, this truly is a perfect place to take in some quiet time, family time and fresh air. We think you will agree.
