Charming and affordable French village house in a pottery village near the lovely medieval town of Uzès, thirty-three miles from Avignon. Attractively furnished, with rooftop terrace, large kitchen and bathroom, bedroom, and two living rooms, one suitable for an office/study. Ideal for two people.
This original stone maison de village comprises 1,200 square feet of living space including a roof terrace, plus a vaulted cave/garage. It is renovated to a high standard combining clean contemporary simplicity with original exposed stone. Electric heating throughout with electric water heater
The first floor consists of an open plan sitting room/study with a desk, office chair, and convertible sofa. A hall leads to a large bathroom (full-size bath and separate shower), and a double bedroom and dressing room. Due to the steep stairs the house is not suitable for children, or people with limited mobility.
The bright and spacious top floor consists of a kitchen/dining room with a window overlooking the tiled rooftops of St. Quentin. In addition, three skylights inserted into the high ceilings with exposed beams, provide extra light and space. The sitting room is furnished with a large sofa and an easy chair, plus a television and DVD. The room opens out via a large sliding glass door to a partly shaded roof terrace large enough for six people to eat out comfortably.

Why the Owner Chose Uzes
Saint Quentin la Poterie is an important center of artistic activity with a very diverse and interesting population. In addition to many highly talented potters the village is home to sculptors, artists, musicians, and writers. The nearby medieval town of Uzes also has a rich cultural life, as well as many practical amenities.

We are a British/American couple, now living near New York. Diane is a university professor, and David is a writer and public radio commentator. Our lifetime love affair with France and our many visits to the Languedoc/Roussilon region finally led us to buy this village house, where we hope to spend as much time as possible in the future.
