Beach Haven Gardens house description
Hurricane Sandy totally spared our beautiful home. We had no damage whatsoever, thankfully, and are happy to be able to charge the same rates as last year.
Rental period is from Sunday at 2 pm to the following Sunday 11 am.
Sixth house from the water’s edge, it is a quick walk to the beach from our lovely home. We rent the second floor of our duplex, which has its own private driveway and entrance and its own back porch area as well as full access to the large ground floor back patio, weber gas grill and charcoal grill, and cedar outdoor shower.
Four beach badges are provided with the cost of the rental.
The beach is one of the nicest on Long Beach Island, enjoyed by visitors of all ages whether you want to surf, kayak, fish or just enjoy swimming and spending time by the ocean. Just a few blocks west you can also enjoy the bay where you can rent jet skis or take a memorable sail.
A beautiful day on Long Beach Island starts by watching the sunrise over the ocean and later, as the day recedes, enjoying the sun setting brilliantly over the bay as the evening begins.
Our home is perfect for a family of four with a master bedroom and two twin beds in the other bedroom. An air bed is provided for an additional guest.
Handmade cypress and cedar paneling surround the walls, providing a beautiful setting to relax inside. Even the bathroom is paneled in honey-toned cypress, giving you the feeling of being in a boat. You have the choice of showering indoors or using the best outdoor shower in the world, a spacious room with seating so you can wipe the sand off your feet before enjoying a relaxing shower after a day in the sun.
A fully equipped kitchen provides the opportunity to cook delicious meals on the new stove or you may prefer grilling outside on the new Weber grill. Enjoy eating meals either inside or outdoors while you keep shaded from the sun under an umbrella.
A large back patio is equipped with three comfortable, handmade chaise lounges along with additional seating. The backyard, surrounded by beautiful pine trees, is a great place to relax when you return from the beach. There are vintage bicycles you can borrow if you wish to take advantage of the great cycling available on the island.
Our home is centrally located, providing you with easy access to excellent restaurants and shopping as well as the Fantasy Island amusement park and the Surf Light Theatre. Visitors can enjoy golfing nearby, boating, clamming, deep sea fishing, parasailing, hiking, bicycling, visiting LBI's famous lighthouse, and much, much more!

Another Wonderful Stay
This was our third year at this wonderful ocean side apartment. We were so happy to see that there was no damage to the home from last year's Hurricane Sandy. The beach was wonderful as always. I was able to walk for miles and found a lot of sea glass. My husband spent some time each day fishing from shore and made friends with several local and vacationing fishermen. There are several local bait shops in the area. The apartment is very clean and well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay at the beach. You can hear the ocean waves as you go to sleep at night. The outdoor, hot shower is a great way to wash off the beach sand. The house is in a good central location. The island is flat with bike lanes and is wonderful for bike riding. We rode our bikes everywhere. We were happy to see that several of our favorite places are open for buisiness , i.e. Uncle Will's for breakfast and dinner, the Black Whale, The Chicken or the Egg, Murphy's Market, etc. We discovered a wonderful LBI institution this year, Marvel's. It is a great deli/bakery with wonderful homemade donuts. We also atended a show at the Starlight Theater. The week went much too quickly! We look forward to another stress free stay next year. Thanks again for the hospitality of this great beach house.

We go to LBI frequently, usually with lots of family in tow. This was a spur of the moment long weekend jaunt with our adult daughter. The apartment is upstairs, quite small - especially the cooking & eating area - but it's cute and in a good location. The free bikes were a bonus.

Owner response: We enjoy providing a clean, affordable living space for LBI vacationers. Our visitors who like to cook can use the fully equipped kitchen or grill outside and enjoy dining on the large, private backyard patio. We are centrally located, a few steps from the beach and just a bike or car ride to shopping, restaurants, amusement parks, and sunset views on the bay. Just the right combination of a quiet street, private backyard, and proximity to the beach and the shopping/restaurant locations of Beach Haven.
WE WERE LOOKING FOR A REASONABLE, SMALL, STEPS TO THE BEACH LOCATION, AND WE FOUND IT. THE SPACE WAS AN UPSTAIRS APARTMENT AND IT FELT SPACIOUS. THERE WERE FOUR OF US AND IT WAS PERFECTLY COMFORTABLE. THE OWNERS WERE DOWNSTAIRS AND VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. VERY CLOSE TO ALL STORES, RESTAURANTS, AND FANTASY ISLAND.

This place has everything a family of four needs. We fit in there very comfortably, and easily had a 5th guest on the air bed. There are a lot of useful built-ins (shelving in the living room, drawers in the double bedroom) and ample space to store suitcases and gear out of the way. The wood paneling gives a lot of character to the place. The outdoor shower is a place you won't want to leave. The location is fantastic -- so close to the beach that going back and forth to it is not a big production. We'll be back.

This teacher's family has used the little upstairs unit as a sanctuary of decompression each summer. Right price, right location! Clean. Quiet, but not isolated. The owners have always been great to work with.

About the owner: Our family owned beach house has had continuous ownership since purchased almost fifty years ago. Lots of love and care have gone into the upkeep of the house by our two brothers, Tim and Steve, who also happen to be woodworkers/carpenters by profession. Their labor of love is evident in beautiful wood interiors, outdoor furniture, and the best outdoor shower on LBI!
Why the Owner Chose Beach Haven Gardens:
Our beach house is located steps from the ocean and a few blocks from the bay. The sun rises over the ocean and sets over the bay. If we are lucky, we can watch a moonrise over the ocean or lie on the beach at night in search of shooting stars. This beach house has raised three generations of children spending summer vacations on LBI. Everyone in the family has special memories connected to our LBI home, from meeting their future spouse to lifelong friends. We have had terrific family reunions and celebrations. It is the perfect getaway!
