Why the Owner Chose Charlottetown
We have truly enjoyed developing the old property at 6 Grafton St. We have done extensive renovations and restorations to the exterior and interior, but the work is never done. We have plans to make the property as energy efficient and "green" as possible, and we have plans to restore another of the units into a vacation property.

Owner's Map of Charlottetown
My name is Heather Love and my husband Don and I live in Charlottetown, PEI, with our daughter Christina, who attends the local university. I moved to PEI from my original home in Newfoundland in 1973 and Don and I have spent the past 27 years living and working in the Charlotteotwn area. We started out together in Don's family homestead in Charlottetown, built in 1885 by his great, great, grandfather and lived in by 6 generations of his family . We eventually sold the old house in 1993, and built a new house in a suburban setting more suited to raising kids. But we missed the appeal of the old house charm, and decided, in 1994, to buy an older apartment building in the historic section of the city. After three years, we bought another, and started the long and challenging restoration process. After fifteen years and many projects, we decided, in 2009, to restore our largest apartment unit into an upscale vacation rental, in order to allow folks to experience historic Charlottetown from the inside, and to provide elegant accommodations, modern conveniences and a great location to those visiting our great little city.

The spaciousness of this beautiful apartment was perfect for a family of four. It was as if we had come home, as we found that all of our needs were not only met but far exceeded. Everything we could possibly think of was available in the kitchen and found having the use of the washer and dryer very convenient after a day at the beautiful beaches. We wanted for nothing. We also had only a short walk to an abundance of outstanding restaurants, shopping and the Confederation Centre where we took in a play. Thank you for your exemplary attention to detail! I have already recommended it to friends!

The attention to detail in this vacation home is obvious from the moment you step through the door. We visited recently with two adults and two children and we certainly did not want for anything. The home is exceptionally well kept, beautifully clean, with a focus on quality. One member of our party - commented on the lovely bath towels - nicer than many five-star hotels! The location couldn't be better - easy walking distance to the waterfront, shopping, restaurants and the Confederation Centre of the Arts (where we took in a play). Easy driving distance to the beach - Heather recommended Brackley Beach and she was right - it was fabulous! A wonderful visit to PEI – made even better by the lovely place that was our home away from home!

Absolutely excellent!!! Perfect location, beautiful home & gracious hosts! Could not have asked for anything more. Pictures are 100% accurate - very comfortable & immaculate. Tourist brochures & info in abundance - very helpful. The recommendation of The Pilot House restaurant was right on - glad we didn't miss it! Thank you so much! David & Carol

We are international travellers who have used VRBO many times in many different countries. Once again, our expectations were exceeded in this wonderful apartment on beautiful Prince Edward Island. In this day of mediocrity being the norm, we were thrilled by the owner's strive for excellence. We had a wonderful stay and hope to someday return.

We spent a delightful week in mid-September 2009 in this great apartment. It is situated on a quiet residential street--but only a few short blocks from Charlottetown's downtown--and a few minutes walk from Victoria Park and the waterfront. The Loves have really put a lot of thought and heart into a total rehab of this apartment. We arrived to find the dining room table covered with maps, brochures, restaurant menus, even a PEI park pass for our use. The kitchen is so well equipped that literally the only thing missing was a "church key"--you know, the utensil that has a pointed end for opening cans of liquids. And having gotten to know Heather--I would bet my last dollar that there is one there now! And when we had a bit of a hitch getting our I-Phone to hook up with the Wi-Fi--Don even rushed over with a family laptop for us to use temporarily. We have stayed in 4-star hotels that didn't have such service! We had a private parking spot in the driveway just a few feet from the apartment's front door--and we could reach every part of the fascinating island on day trips. (Only North Cape was a bit of a one-day stretch--but we did it.) The apartment is ideal for a couple (like us) and for a family with two children. And even two couples would find it fine--as long as they are willing to share the huge bathroom--which even includes a washer and dryer. I won't describe the rooms except to say that the photos and descriptions on this site are most accurate and truthful. The place is tastefully decorated and most comfortable and inviting. It's a great place to come "home" to after a day of sightseeing. It is a wonderful spot from which to enjoy all that Charlottetown and the entire island have to offer.
