Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
In 2003 I had rented a home in Daytona Beach. Although the beach was great the lack of community feel was distressing! New Smyrna Beach seemed like the perfect community. This house in seemed to be drawing me - even though the condition was just awful - the in town LOCATION right across the street from the beach was perfect!
The property has quite a history! The original house was a kit home from Sears that arrived by rail and was assembled in 1915. During its "makeover" in 2007 we discovered numbered and labled parts. When I purchased the property the 2 buildings were divided into 9 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with 3 addresses!!
It has become my custom to ask everyone that comes to the house if they have ever been to the house or "lived there." They almost always have a story to tell me. The mailman told me that the Allman Brothers Band rented it for a wild summer in the '70s!
There is a garage building and I added a fence to form a private courtyard. The courtyard features a jacuzzi, gas firepit & bar-b-que. Guests currently have access to the garage building that has a laundry, full bath with shower downstairs. Upstairs is a playroom with ping pong and darts.
The Unique Benefits at this House
New Smyrna Beach is truly a best kept secret. Our in town location allows you to park the car and instantly become a "local." Every week there is some type of special occasion. Art openings, live music, music festivals, surf contests, goofy promotions like bar hopping on bicycles, santa races, martini walks, car shows, motorcyle nigts, fishing contests, boat parade(the list is long). The water taxi is a very nice boat ride to Ponce Inlet restaurants and lighthouse. I always inform my guests what is happening during their stay. Everything that I mentioned takes place within a few blocks of our home. If you stay in a condo or home down the beach - you miss all the charm and are just another tourist.

A little about me and my husband. I have a professional event company with casino games, disc jockey and a variety of convention entertainment. My husband has had a long career in radio sales and management. We love to socialize and the location of our beach house begs people to "stop by to say hi!" Big change from suburbia where your friends make appointments in advance to see you. We love it.
