This was our first time renting a beach house and we couldn't have asked for better! The location was great. The street was quiet and it was a short walk to beach, nearby grocery store and several restaurants. The house is perfect for teenagers and the kids loved the wifi and the boogie boards. We bbq'd almost every night and enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. The owner was extremely helpful with suggestions and everything was as promised. We can't wait for our next beach vacation!

Great House, Fun Times

I always enjoy spending a week at Newport because it reminds me of the vacations we took as a family when I was a kid. This is a great house in a relatively quiet location (Bay side). Lauri is awesome to work with and the house has some cool amenities like wifi and extra chairs and boogie boards. We used the BBQ and hung out on the patio relaxing when we weren't at the beach. Easy access to grocery stores and the Starbucks. The only addition I would like is if the couch was a foldout and could sleep one other person. Overall a really great place to spend the week.

Great Vacation!

We (two couples and 3 kids) spent the second week of August at this great vacation home and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! The convenience to the beach (5 minute stroll) was a big bonus, we spent the majority of every day there, swimming, boogie boarding, dolphin watching, vollyballing, frisbeeing and just relaxing....it was wonderful! The house was fully outfitted, very comfortable and even had 3 beach cruiser bikes for our exploring around the cool area of the Balboa Peninsula and Balboa Island. We found some Excellent restaurants within short walking distance and generally all had an Awesome vacation! One bonus: the property owners, who we never actually met, turned out to be Great folks. I accidently left a very important work file at the house and didn't realize it until I arrived at home in Phoenix. I immediately called the owners and they tracked down my file from their maids who had found it in the home and Fed-X'ed to me the next day. This extra effort was greatly appreciated.

Our family has stayed at various Neport Beach houses over the years, and this house, by far, was the best one ever! I can't say enough about it! It's wonderful. We had 7 people staying here--my husband and I stayed in the master bedroom, the 2 22 yr. old girls slept in the 1 room, the 3 20 yr. old boys slept in the 3d room with the bunk bed and trundle. The house has everything you could ask for, including internet, free laundry facilities, fully stocked kitchen, beach toys (chairs and boggie boards), linens, etc. The furniture is brand new; everything has been upgraded and remodeled. It's extremely clean. The owner, Lauri, was very friendly and receptive to our questions and comments. When the light/fan wasn't working, she was there fixing it immediately. By the way, parking is no problem on this street. Also, it's conveniently located. Finally, it was unusually quiet for this area. All in all, I can't say enough about this beach house and look forward to staying here for many summers to come!

Excellent place to stay on the Peninsula

My friends and family decided to come in from all over the country and rent this excellent beach house (both top and bottom floors) for a week in later June 2011. We were pleasantly surprised when we learned both units were remodeled and in excellent condition. All furnishings were in great condition, and there was a very homey feel to both units. We ended up sleeping 12 people comfortably after obtaining the bottom unit as well (additional fee). Laurie and Brian were very accommodating and very fair with the price, especially considering what you got for your dollar. Many of the houses around were full of party animals and fairly run down, not so for this beach house. We plan on coming back again next year, and everyone had such a great time. Only a short walk to the boardwalk, and only 2 blocks from the beach. I highly recommend staying here over many of the other properties nearby that did not even compare in value or condition. I am a local to SoCal, and have been down to the Peninsula 100's of times and stayed at many different places, and this house is my favorite! Great property and location

My family (four adults, four children) stayed for a week at this Newport Beach rental in July 2010. The home was clean, tastefully decorated, and perfect for our family. The beach was within walking distance, as were several restaurants, a small movie theater, and a grocery store. The kids LOVED the boogie boards that Lauri had for them to use and we enjoyed taking the two beach cruisers out for a spin. The area was loud on Friday and Saturday nights, as most of the houses on the street were occupied by partying college students. However, yelling to them to keep it down seemed to help! The property was great. Thanks for the fun trip.

Owner response:It is always difficult to control neighbors however, the City of Newport Beach has a strict City of Newport Beach Noise Ordinance program which fines owners for unacceptable levels of noise between the hours of 10pm to 8am which can always be reported to the authorities by occupants.

We having been coming to Newport Beach for our family vacations for several years now. This rental was a lovely surprise! You're never really quite sure what you're going to get until you get there. Not only was it emaculate but everything about it from the decor to the location was inviting. I would highly recommend this property.

My family and I had our very first family reunion in July 2009. I found this place on the VRBO website. After looking thru so many rentals, we decided to take a chance on this home. Not knowing the location and site was difficult to decide. It was everything that we were looking for. It was very accomodating for 7 of us and the location was exactly what we were looking for. Lauri was always responsive to any questions we had. My family and I had a wonderful time. We would not hesitate to return here in the future.Thank you again Lauri.
