Visitors to this mountain house will find a 2,800 sq. ft. three level home that was built in 2001 with an abundance of Tennessee field stone, wood shingles and copper shed roofs. Sitting on a cliff at 3000 ft. elevation, our visitors are only minutes away from a variety of state parks with beautiful water falls and nature trails.
A tour of the house will find the master bedroom in the upper level of the house with a queen sized bed and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. The attached master bathroom includes a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. Down to the lower level of the house is Guest Room I with a queen sized bed and an attached bathroom plus Guest Room II with a full sized bed and an attached bathroom.
The laundry room is on the lower level. Now, separate from the main house, but connected by a cedar walking bridge, is a Guest Apartment with a queen bed and an attached bathroom.
Back in the main house, is a two story great room featuring a floor to ceiling stone fireplace on the second level. The fully equipped kitchen, although small, can easily inspire great home cooked meals and entertaining. An enclosed veranda (that is accessed from both the dining room and the great room) features the house’s third stone fireplace (all three fireplaces are with gas logs).
If you delight in old world ambience, blended with “little bits” of Asia, you will enjoy your visit to this mountain house.
There is a barbecue on a small covered porch off of the kitchen. Also, there is a second covered porch that can be accessed from the dining room/entry as well as the kitchen and great room. And there is a third covered porch is on the lower level of the house between the Guest Apartment walking bridge and the main house.
A ten minute walk brings you to the community recreation area with 2 swimming pools (one heated), a small lake (for canoeing and fishing), and 2 tennis courts. DuPont State Forest, with its three waterfalls, is a 15 minute drive, and Caesar's Head State Park less than 5 minutes. Almost 45% of Transylvania County is covered by 6 national and state forests. Called the "Land of Waterfalls", the county contains 250 waterfalls you can visit.
Several golf courses are in the area, and nearby Brevard (25 minutes), Hendersonville (45 minutes), Greenville, SC (45 minutes), and Asheville (1 hour) offer river activities, shopping, restaurants, and cultural events, including the famous Brevard Music Festival and the Flatrock Playhouse.

Why the Owner Chose Cliff Ridge Colony
Texas summers are hot. We were looking for a special place where we could escape the summer heat but also we were looking forward to a change of pace from city life with the added possibility of relaxed fun get-togethers with our family and friends. At 3,000 ft. elevation, we have found lower summer temperatures and we also enjoy all the amenities that come with a mountain lifestyle.
The Unique Benefits at this House
All of our family love the beautiful Carolina mountains. We enjoy hiking through the woods and we will never tire of the many spectacular beautiful seasonal vistas, in and around the surrounding state parks. (Some trail systems can be accessed just walking distance from our mountain home). We are only 25 minutes to Brevard, 45 minutes to Hendersonville, and 55 minutes to Asheville, North Carolina. There are ountless opportunities to enjoy great restaurants, shopping, and a large array of cultural activities, including Brevard's annual Summer Music Festival.
