This quaint and cozy New England style home is located on one of the most prestigious islands in south Puget Sound. The backdrop for this amazing location is both the calm waters of Case Inlet and a magnificent view of Mt. Rainier. As you gaze across the water you see several small islands, a car ferry, sea gulls in mid flight and loons diving for their daily sustenance. An occasional bald eagle flies overhead while a heron walks along the beach. This outstanding vacation retreat is now available.
Located in a quiet and gated beachside community, this welcoming home is just steps away from the sea. You need only walk into the main living area of the house to discover its charm. A wall of windows on the water side of the house provides a picturesque view from almost every room in the house.
The kitchen features granite countertops, a tile floor and oak cabinetry. The adjoining dining room provides a spectacular view of the Sound as you enjoy a simple meal relaxing with family or friends.
The living room area is decorated for comfort with a leather sofa, loveseat and easy chair. A set of sliding glass doors leads onto a spacious deck stretching across the entire waterside of the home. The gas BBQ and casual outdoor table provide a welcoming place at which you can prepare and enjoy your fresh catch of the day. A hot tub, nestled in the deck, provides a perfect place to unwind after a day on the water – star gazing is optional, but highly recommended.
A short walk from the deck leads to the private staircase guiding you down to the beach. Once you begin your scenic walk you discover seasonally this area has an incredible variety of sea life to explore – from starfish to sand dollars to hermit crabs, bringing a continual splash of color to this amazing coastline.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen-sized bed. The second floor provides you with an amazing master bedroom with a queen-sized bed. Each day you wake up to the sounds of the waves slapping the shore and a breathtaking view of Mt. Rainier. An additional room on the second floor is used as a den. We have set aside a large portion of this room in order to accommodate our guests with an inflatable queen-sized bed. Also on the second floor is the family room. It is a popular place to play games or watch TV.
This home is part of a community that shares a private cove where boats can be anchored and children can go to swim. Guests at this home are provided with a complimentary kayak during their stay.
Stretch Island is a much sought after area of Puget Sound. It is a quiet community where many residents choose to walk or ride bikes around the island daily. Whether passing by a local equestrian farm, the Puget Sound Maritime Museum, or just meandering along the road dotted with privately-owned vineyards, the sites and sounds of the this peaceful place are a welcome change to the hustle and bustle of city life. The island bridge provides a clear view of Fair Harbor Marina, at which you can launch your boat or purchase an espresso while watching magnificent yachts navigating in and out of the Harbor.
