My husband and I spent the month of January, 2013, at this property. It was wonderful! We had the good fortune to enjoy very mild weather, but it would have been a good trip even if the weather was more seasonable. Two couples visited us for a week during our stay - this worked out very well as each had their own bedroom and bathroom, while we enjoyed the master bedroom and bathroom. We enjoyed great day trips to Savannah, Charleston, and Dufuske Island. While we were away on our day trips, our two dogs enjoyed their stay at Beaufort Dogs - a wonderful day care and kennel, where they were very comfortable. We loved the great restaurants in Beaufort area - notably the Bull Tavern, Bricks and Dockside, to mention a few. Easy access to the Publix for all our needs. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved it all!!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I recently had my FIRST visit to this marvelous "tree house feel" cottage! I say that loosely because the moment we entered the property, it FELT like HOME! The accommodations were cozy and inviting. My husband and I met my brother, one of my sisters and her husband along with a 15 year old that was never bored! Bird watching became a new hobby, tours to Beaufort and Savannah were close and worth the shortt travel time however, I must admit we all enjoyed the property so much "we always wanted to hurray and get back to the gorgeous house nestled in beautiful live oaks covered with Spanish Moss! I personally felt like I was on the set of Gown With The Wind. We are already planning another family get together for next year if not sooner! Thanks to the owners for making this vacation a retreat/home away from home! God bless you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a very enjoyable week at this lovely house. There were only five of us, all adults, and the location was ideal for us – somewhat isolated and overlooking a salt marsh. We spent many hours on the second-floor deck watching the tides and birds come and go – very peaceful and conducive to reading and relaxing. Biting insects were never a problem. The neighborhood is very nice and we felt secure going for evening walks. Downtown Beaufort, grocery stores, and Hunting Island State Park are reasonably close and the house came with the use of a pass for the state park. The house is lovely and stocked with everything needed for our stay. It is obviously a bit older, but still in good repair or recently remodeled. The kitchen is the only room that really looked somewhat dated, but it was roomy, well-equipped, and perfectly functional. The only slight distraction was there were so many nick-knacks on every surface that we had to move something just to find a place to set a drink or a book. Every wall and every flat surface seemed to be covered with "things" - no real problem, just it gave a feeling of clutter everywhere. While the house was ideal for our group of adults, I can not really recommend it for a family with older children – I think they would be bored here. The only televisions were relatively small and located in the bedrooms and kitchen; there was no place to watch a movie together or for kids to congregate and play video games. There was wi-fi so we could use our computers however. There was no game room or recreation facilities, and with the exception of the road for going for walks, there was no place for outside play. The marsh was good for looking at, but wasn't suitable for swimming, boating, beach play, or even exploring. For a group of adult or families with small children I would recommend this rental.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We arrived on 6-8 after a brief stay on Hilton Head Island. This house at Chammy Creek is truly a little piece of Heaven. Very well equipped and very very peacefull! Atlthough there are 3 tv's, we only turned them on 1-3 times. I'm told the tempartures were 15-20 degrees above normal, making our visits to the beach very rewarding with strong breezes on most days. Hunting Beach State park truly is one of the coastal treasures and is only 30-40 minutes from 22 Cameroon. Our favorite restaurants --Dockside at Port Royal, Steamers for hamburgers and sea food bisque, Crazy Crab on Hilton Head, Hilton Head Diner for breakfast, Plums in Beaufort, Magnolia Cafe-Bakery in Beaufort. Johnson's Creek Tavern Shrimp Shack just before Hunting Island. Southern Sweets Ice Cream is absolute must!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We took our 3 year old daughter together with the grandparents. The baby alligators & turtles walk across the street each day on the way from there nest to the water. The tiny crabs that come out of the marsh each day are cute, as well as the neighboring woman who brings in her net with the catch of the day. Very exciting and special to see the nature. The variety of birds are serene. The property is so comfortable and luxurous. There were ample comforts of home together with interesting interior decorations that made the home itself very special. The Interior Decorator who furished and added much local artwork is unique to this property, not just staying at a sterile hotel! Strongly Reccomend a 2nd Stay! A wonderful place to go for military graduation, wedding, or some special retreat. There is a grocery store nearby, together with a town with restautants and tourism. So you can stay at this home with many activities or venture out.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a wonderful house and you can feel the graciousness and generosity of the owners. The house is nestled under live oaks at the very edge of the marsh, surrounding you with the sounds, smells and sights of nature. The birds are particularly awe inspiring. Everything you could possibly need is provided, and is of the highest quality. The artwork in the house is delightful and personal. You feel as though you are with friends. The owners handled any minor problem with ease and when I accidently, and unknowingly, burned a countertop, they were very fair in letting me go back to the house to assess the damage and in establishing the cost of fixing it. Good people. Terrific house. You won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
