Built on a grand scale in 1911, this elegant Arts and Crafts home has generous rooms, high ceilings, solid wood detailing, wide verandah - and unobstructed views of the lake, to the Lumby Valley and the Monashee Mountains beyond. The lawn and garden sweep gently down to the beach with shallow, protected water for children and the dock with boat lift. Able swimmers can dive off the end of the dock into the deep, clear blue water.
The north Okanagan offers great golf courses, wineries and ski areas. World class golf at Predator Ridge is a scenic 15 minute drive; skiing, boarding and tubing at Silver Star Mountain are 30 minutes away and for powder hounds, snow cat skiing is an hour away away in the Monashees. Named Kalamalka for its many colours, our lake’s often calm blue-green waters are especially appreciated by water skiers and rowers. When the wind comes it's a paradise for sailing and wind-surfing.
A team of architects and skilled craftsmen helped ensure our extensive restoration and updating preserved the character of this fine old home. We’ve tucked in high end appliances and a sound system, added Stickley Mission furniture and old family pieces. The kitchen has an extra large island so there’s room for all the cooks and their audience. The long dining table comfortably seats twelve and Morris chairs in the den and living room have lulled many to sleep, with book on chest. All the beds are Beautyrest with pillow-top mattresses.
Enjoy a peaceful night’s rest in this quiet family neighbourhood. Fitzmaurice House is perfect for gracious entertaining but not wild parties as the furnishings are valuable and our neighbours cherish the peaceful environment. The house has four bedrooms with three full and two half bathrooms and the finished basement has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The two steps up from the rear entry to the driveway and garage are broad and shallow, so we could easily provide a ramp. There are good grips in the showers.

Our family stayed at this property twice during the summer of 2010. I can't imagine a better location in the Okanagan, right on the water with a huge backyard. The house and yard were absolutely fantastic and in great condition - very well maintained all the way around. The owner and her property manager are wonderful people which made the stay even more pleasant. We are planning on another trip out there this summer. I highly recommend this property if you are considering a vacation in the Okanagan.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.

What an amazing spot for a summer break! The house is as beautiful as advertised and it is stocked with everything you need for a relaxing stay in the sun - water toys, towels, loungers etc. etc. The beds are super comfortable and the ensuite bathrooms are luxurious. We had a great time!
