Cloudbreak is a 4000 square foot artist built house on the west side of Bamfield, on Vancouver Island. With a view of the ocean we are just 5 minutes from beautiful sandy Brady's beach. The house is bright, clean and spacious. Located on 5 acres of land with a large grassy lawn in the front and forest in the back, ideal for children of all ages.
The upstairs of the house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen and a sauna. There is an exercise room with a double futon and the master bedroom has a loft with a single bed. There is plenty of floor space to put cots and foamies to accommodate more people. (For a smaller rental please inquire about our studio suite.)
Bamfield is located at the northern end of the West Coast Trail. You can drive from Port Alberni or take the Lady Rose (a working ship). The town is divided into east and west by an inlet. There is a water taxi that takes people from the eastside to the west for just $4 per person. Once you are on the west side a vehicle is available for your use. Vehicles are rare on the west side as everything is within walking distance. There is a boardwalk along the inlet on the west side. Along the boardwalk is a grocery store, art and gift shop, coffee bar, water taxi and coastguard station.
Bamfield is a unique town with an eclectic mix of people from the Bamfield Marine Sciences Center (on the east side), artisans, an active sports fishing community, first nations community and hikers from the West Coast Trail. It is a beautiful town and well worth a visit.
