We rented this cabin for a weekend ski getaway this winter and had a wonderful time! The weather didn't work out for skiing, but the location of the cabin allowed us to tour a nearby winery, do some gem mining, and enjoy the hot tub and beautiful view instead! The cabin was extremely clean, spacious, and had absolutely everything we needed. We will definitely be back next year!

Perfect Mountain Getaway

We had high expectations for our first visit to the Blue Ridge Mountains & they were most definitely succeeded. The cabin was wonderful, clean, spacious, & very welcoming. The view was breathtaking. I personally loved the hot tub & well stocked kitchen! We skied Sugar Mountain & Beech despite foggy weather, visited a local winery, Mast General Store (highly recommended for kids!), Pink Gorilla Gift Shop, and more! Plan on returning next winter, hopefully at the same cabin.

Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary in this cozy cabin and LOVED IT! The cabin was spotless, well maintained and offered incredible views. Of course the hot tub was the icing on the cake! We will definitely be back.

A friend and I and my very big dog spent a week plus at this cabin in early September. It was clean and had everything we needed. It was really great for the three of us. It's at the end of the road and there are woods and roads to wander on. My friend came down with a cold so we didn't do as much wandering around the region but it was a great place to hang out. I would highly recommend it for two or a family--I think it could get kinda cozy for two couples since the upstairs is a loft. There are a number of dogs in the neighborhood who wander off-leash...something to keep in mind if your dog is shy. All in all, good time. Thanks.

REALLY enjoyed our stay here-the view is fabulous! After a delicious dinner cooked in the fantastic kitchen, we relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the sunset! Our doggies enjoyed the yard and the nearby little trail.....The master bed is SOOO comfortable!!! It's a great location-close to lots of gem mining areas we love; we'll be back! Marsha was very patient and helpful to us when we called for last minute directions (we got lost) and also the next day for help with the wifi.........Thank you! Highly recommended!!!

This Banner Elk cabin was amazing! it was the first time I have ever been skiing and we could not have asked for a better location.. my family and I can not wait to make this a yearly event and cont to use this cabin.. We wouldn't have changed or asked for anything different. A nice peace of heaven oh the side of the mountain with an AMAZING view.

Fun time and the weather was crazy. Cabin is very well set up and clean and is about 3 mi from town. Good skiing and so much snow that we didn't get to see the super views until the last day!

This was the first time we decided to take a snowboarding trip to NC. After extensive searching online for just the right cabin, we decided on the Mountain View cabin. It was a great decision. The cabin was warm and welcoming after long days of trying to learn to snowboard. The hot tub was great for soaking those sore muscles. The fireplace was cozy to curl up to with a good book and the TV in the family room had the most amazing picture! The online pictures do not do the cabin justice. It was much better in person! It is clean and well maintained. We had a little trouble getting out of the driveway one day due to not paying attention when we were told to bring chains. Even then, the owners were very helpful and took time out of their busy before Christmas week to rescue us! I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a comfortable, clean, warm place to stay near the slopes in NC ( We were within 10-30 minutes of Beech, Sugar and Appalacian)

Anniversary 13 is one of our best! A great ASU victory on Saturday, an alumni trip to the Panthers game on Sunday, and a day of "kidless" shopping on Monday. The cabin is superb. You left no detail out...even surround sound. We love it and can't wait to return. We do have one complaint though.....our long weekend wasn't long enough!

We have been coming to this area for 10yrs. For us, this is the perfect place to be. Watching the storms and clouds pass by, covering Grandfather Mountain is amazing. We started off with bad weather but it didn't last long. We did get alot of hiking in: The Balds at Roan Mtn, Table Rock & Linville Falls, Profile Trail to Attic Window, Boone Scout Trail. We also checked out the Mast Store and the Banner Elk Winery. Thank you for your hospitality we would love to come back again. I want to see the Rhododendron in bloom. Loved the Hot Tub!

This was our 3rd yr staying at your cabin. It's great! We rented a HD motorcycle in Boone, NC and rode to Mt Mitchell - what a view! We stopped in Little Switzerland and had lunch. We had dinner at Zuzda's one evening and spent time in the hot tub and just relaxing. Marsha, thanks for everything!

The cabin is GREAT! Love the views. The hot tub and fire pit (with SMORES) were a big hit! Love the 60degree lows in August. Sure beats the FL summer heat. Highlights of our trip: Grandfather Mtn, Hebron Colony Rock Falls, High Mtn Expeditions Raft Trip. Thanks for a relaxing, fun trip! Look forward to coming back.

Thank you for sharing your cabin. It was a fabulous escape from the hustle and bustle of life in Charlotte. We have stayed in many VRBO places and this by far has been the best. It didn't feel like a vacation place, it felt like home. Thank you for all of the extra touches that you have put into this place. This was the perfect start to our summer. We were able to rest and relax as well as visit old friends and family that are still living in Avery County. The view from the back deck is one of the best around here. We enjoyed having our coffee in the morning out there as well as all our meals. Thank you again for the fantastic accomodations. We hope to be back here again. We went ice skating and did alot of sledding down the driveway. The snow was beautiful. Savannah loved having snowball fights and building a "snowgirl". Someday we'll find a magic hat for her. Her name is Crystal. We hope to come back next year.

Lots of snow. Lots of bears. We went to Sugar Mountain. Delaney Thank you so much for letting us stay. We loved it! This was our kids first time seeing snow. The sleds were great. We had a wonderful stay here in your beautiful cabin, this definitely won't be our last stay here. The views are absolutely incredible. We didn't get much skiing in because of rain, but we truely enjoyed relaxing here in the cabin and hot tub. Here on our last day we really got a winter view with all the snow on the ground.
