We stayed at the Raymond House for a family reunion and it served our needs perfectly! We were greeted at the house by Paige and she was so friendly. She gave us a quick tour of the house and made us feel at home immediately. The house is clean, charming, and functional. We loved the front porch and all the beautiful touches. It is finished like a new house, but also has all of the old-fashioned charm. It has everything you need and more. I highly recommend staying at this house and enjoying everything Virginia City has to offer.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The listing description was accurate but it did not and could not reflect the whole ambiance of the town and setting. Sitting on the porch on a hill two blocks from main street next to similar restored homes was delightful; the pace was easy going and the town well cared for. We were there for a family wedding and loved walking to events. The main rooms were spacious and it became a gathering place between events. Raymond House has been beautifully restored; I would love to come back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

The Raymond House was a perfect place to spend a few days in Alder Gulch. We had two couples and a single - all family, all adults, so the space was perfect. I loved cooking breakfast in the gourmet kitchen - the appliances were luxe and the dining room was beautiful. In the evening, the girls played cards while the men watched sports on the TV. It's a nice neighborhood - sitting on the front porch to watch the sunset was quite relaxing. I felt like we were enjoying a small mansion - it was that elegant. Nice landscaping too... We really hated to leave. The only concern was that the house is on a steep hill (everything is built on a steep hill in Virginia City) and that it was a little challenging for my sister who has some mobility problems to get into and out of the house. Highly recommend this home for two couples or a couple with children or for a family group or a girlfriends get-away. I would definitely rent the home again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

My Family and I (Four adults and two small children) stayed in this wonderful home while visiting family and attending a wedding in nearby Ennis. This is a wonderful place to visit, relax, and enjoy the mountain views. We were pleasantly surprised to find the home so roomy. This is a very well appointed, fully furnished, restored historical home in one of the quaintest towns in the old west. We will be back!!
