This lovely 700 square foot Condominium has been totally renovated in Dec.08.
It is located in a beautiful, quiet area in Colonia Allende which is a 20 minute walk to the Center or a ten minute bus ride. Taxis are cheap and plentiful.
The house has a very nice private patio, is very quiet, and is surrounded by trees, plants, water fountains, etc. The manager is extremely helpful, and bilingual. There is a housekeeper, and a handyman on site.
The appliances are brand new, and the house has lots of dishes, linens, iron, and everything you need for a comfortable vacation. The large bedroom has a king size bed that can be separated into two single beds. There is also a small folding bed. The large walk in closet is off the bedroom.
We have a Vonage phone(free to US), local phone, desktop computer, good cable TV(BBC,PBS,CNN),and other English stations) as well as CDs and books.
The bus is three short blocks away, and takes you into the Center in ten minutes, Taxis are inexpensive, and plentiful. Purified water is supplied for a small charge and the housekeeper cleans once a week.(no charge)
It is a nice to walk to the Central Area(the jardin) which is about 20 minutes. The Condominium is in a very pretty, quiet area that is nice place to come home to after being in the busier Central area during the day.There are small grocery stores within a few blocks, and the large supermarket is about 10 minutes away.
The owners, and tenants are a nice mix of ex-pats, and locals.

Why the Owner Chose Colonia Allende
Eventually several close friends of ours decided to leave NY and move to San Miguel permanently. Since we surprisingly enjoyed being there so much when we were visiting them, and knowing we would be there three or four times a year we decided to buy our own place. My husband was less enthused, but he surprisingly loves to be there now. So we've been very happy with the decision, and really love the condominium.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Our condominium is great, it is a little out of the busy Central Area,(the jardin) which we prefer. The area is beautiful, and very quiet. The views are great. The condominum is wonderfully managed which is very nice for us, since we are not there all the time. There is always someone to call if problems arise.

My husband and I have been to San Miguel five or six times in the last few years with several friends of ours. Our first visit was a home exchange. We live in NYC. We got to like it more and more with each visit. It it a lovely place with lots to do which I love, since I'm used to life in NY, and is also very relaxing and peaceful.

Joan, Thank you . The apartment was a lovely place for our holidays. It had everything we could have needed and more. I loved having the option to use your desktop computer, as well as the wi-fi. We really enjoyed being a little away from the center, which I wasn't sure about at first, but it turned out to be just right. Easy to get to and a relaxing atmosphere. We sat on your patio almost every day. And Joan, thanks for all your e-mail help giving us information about San Miguel. We'd love to come back sometime and we will recommend it to friends. Cheers.
