Why the Owner Chose Village Walk
We love Port Aransas and Mustang Island. We first came here in the 1990's with our children and were back almost every year. Port A is friendly, fun and warm.
We enjoy going to the beach and shelling & fishing. Recently we have learned the art of finding ghost shrimp in the sand. See you soon.

You have a wonderful view of the ocean from the top 2 floors of our house. You have a private driveway within a beautiful gated community called Village Walk which has lots of palm trees, lighted paths and 2 bright clean pools.

We are from Colorado and enjoy BOTH Denver and PortA in the great state of Texas.

We stayed at the Ocean Breeze in late July 2010 with extended family. The layout was perfect, with plenty of space for all to spread out (we had 6 adults and a two year old). The home is like-new, with wood floors throughout and nice furniture. I especially liked the elevator, and it sure helped when moving ice chests in and out of the 3rd floor kitchen! The Port-A Escapes people went all out. The home had every cooking appliance imaginable, extra towels, linens, a washer and dryer with soap, even a baby gate! All in all a great vacation! This was not applicable to us, but the entire home except the rooftop deck seems to be quite handicapped accessible, with the elevator, low switches, wide doorways, etc. For those without a car, or just those looking for a fun time there are a number of merchants on the island who rent gas powered golf carts to trek around town and onto the beach. Our only complaint was that there is really no easy way to access the beach from the property. There is a one-road upscale subdivision in between Village Walk and the beach. They have erected a "private" ramp crossing the dunes, and put a padlock on the gate. You can go this way by climbing around the gate through the dunes, but you risk snakebites, thorns, and trespassing charges by doing so. You can drive on the beach, so we just piled in the car and made the 1/2 mile drive onto the beach via the access road. Again, not a huge gripe, but this was not clear on the website.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of room for people to fell comfortable and the view is just beautiful. Best value we have had so far at Port A.
