La Grande Bastide is an imposing early 19th Century house built on 4 floors and set on a plateau of vineyards and olive groves in the hills above Grimaud and Cogolin.
The house is set in a mature walled garden with attractive entrance gates. There are vines and olive trees both to the front and the rear of the house. Just outside the walled garden is a 6 meter x 4 meter plunge pool with sun deck. In the summer the whole setting is an oasis of calm and yet is only a stones throw from the coast and its beaches.
The interior has the feel and charm of slightly faded grandeur with a magnificent first floor salon complete with parquet flooring and wall hangings. There are 3 principle double bedrooms, 3 further double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. These are complimented by 3 bath/shower rooms and 3 separate W.C.'s. On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen and separate dining room seating up to 12.
In the summer months, however, the main living area is the garden where there are many areas to eat and plenty of outside furniture.
Grimaud and Cogolin are both 10 minutes away and have restaurants, shops and supermarkets. St. Tropez is 10 km away from Cogolin and Ste Maxime is 10 km from Grimaud. Toulon Airport is an easy 40 minutes away by car and Nice is reached in 90 minutes. The A8 motor access if 40 minutes by car.
