Why the Owner Chose Zermatt

Grachen is such a charming place! It makes you feel like stepping back in time when life was simpler, people were nicer, and yet it has all the conveniences of modern life. Banks, TV, fine restaurants, music on week-ends, open trails to everywhere. You feel at peace here, and the Matterhon and Zermatt are nearby to visit and enjoy!

The Unique Benefits of this Chalet

From the Chalet in Grachen you feel like you are on top of the world. The mighty Alps surround the Chalet and most of the high peaks are snow covered year around. The air if pure and fresh and in the surroundings you can still see some cows or sheep grazing in the hills with an occasional
encounter with a ram or mountain goat along the trails. A glacier is nearby and can be reached in less than 2 hours. This is the perfect place to relax and rediscover inner peace.

....our time in (the) Schnee Eule (Chalet) was all that we expected. We left some nice comments in the new guest book. Grachen provided just the right conbination of relaxing and sightseeing. When we weren't out we were completely satisfied to take it easy in the Chalet or in town. Our college age son also enjoyed the freedom to explore the area on his own and practice his German. Your suggestions on daily activities were very helpful as a supplement to the travel guides. We also enjoyed the historica area of Visp and ....Sion.

We are a retired couple and spent the entire month of September at the Schnee Eule chalet in Grachen, Switzerland. We could not have been more happy with our accommodations. Everything was up to date, clean and a great location. The trails for walking, just 40-50 feet above and behind the chalet, were especially handy. We took long hikes almost every day in each direction. If one went there to ski, the ski lifts were nearby. I can't say how much we loved it there. If you would have any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer anything you might want to know

My parents, brother, and I just got back from our 3 night stay in Grachen and had an amazing time! Grachen was such a cute town with great hiking and food! The first day we hiked to the waterfall and glacier which was really neat. The next day we took one of the cable cars up and then continued to hike to the top of Seetalhorn and saw a bunch of mountain goats. We went to dinner at Hotel Desiree one night and had great food and amazing service. Would highly recommend it! The weather was great while we were there. In the 80's and sunny. We were able to sit on the porch at night so didn't spend much time in the chalet, but the time we did it was very comfortable. Will always use vrbo.com from now on!

Carl, It was a difficult drive from the top of whatever Alps we got stranded on so we were late getting to Grachen. Carl, your place is wonderful, I sit on the front porch with a good local red wine, fresh cheese and I talked with my daughter for a long time as we stare at the Alps in front of us. We did hike 3.5 hours today to the Ried Glacier but there was a rock slide that stopped us at the end. We could hear the water fall from where we had to turn around, a magnificent sight! My daughter. Alana, was looking for the internet signal. Then she stepped outside the Chalet on your patio, freezing at 9:30 pm and was able to get a signal from the hotel near here and she is Happy! Carl, how do I put a comment on your site? I will always go to VRBO first, from now on. Thank you so much for all the information and ideas you gave us. Many thanks, Monica
