We have recently installed new laminate flooring in the entire downstairs of the cabin.

Why the Owner Chose Georgetown

We live about 1/2 hour from Georgetown and love the Pintlar Scenic Route. We snowmobile, boat, fish, hike and it is great to have it close by for year round use, and managing year round rentals.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

Our property is unique because it has great access year round and lots of open space, there is an acre of open meadow in front of the cabin overlooking the lake. We have room for parking sled trailers, boats, etc. The cabin itself is cozy, comfortable and warm. We have all the accommodations we would have at our home, so it's just perfect to go and not worry about needing something we didn't pack! Throw in the cooler and some clothes, and we're at the lake!

Southern Cross Cabin

We just completed a weeks stay at the cabin. The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable. It was down to 7 below one morning and plenty warm inside, (the wood stove works great!). My wife especially liked the wildlife decor. It was a short drive up to the ski area and we enjoyed two days of skiing. We even saw a cow and calf moose on the morning we left! We hope to return during the summer to try out some fishing on the lake.

Cozy Cabin

Extremely cozy cabin with all of the amenities you could hope for. The view was outstanding and you could take advantage of it from the deck, the living room, the dining area and the romantic bedroom. The deck was large and looked right over the lake and had a great spot to grill. The only downside is that it is close to Hwy 1, so it is a little noisy outside. Plenty of activities around the area to go hiking, mt. biking or just being a tourist in Philipsburg. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable cabin, with a spectacular view of the lake. Good hiking nearby and Phillipsburg is very fun - Granite ghost town, followed by the museum in Phillipsburg, is a must.

Stunning Views

WOW is the word to best describe our experience at Southern Cross Cabin! The views of Georgetown Lake and the mountains was awesome from the beautiful deck in the front of the cabin. We especially enjoyed watching the eagles soaring and sitting in the nearby trees - up to 8 at one time! The cabin was cozy and nicely furnished. It was well stocked with all the amenities one would likely need. The cabin was clean and well kept up. The photos and description were accurate as represented. I liked the heated mattress pad on the be in the lower level! The cabin more than met our expectations, and we hope to return someday. If you like fried chicken or the local favorite fried pork sandwich, check out the 7 Gables Restaurant down the hill. Great food and wonderful service! If you want a nice place for dinner, go to the BarclayII restaurant in Anaconda. Unbelievable food and service! Both get an A+ rating from our group!

We appreciate you opening your cabin to us for our use. We come yearly for the Northern Division Freestyle Skiing Championships and hope we can stay again next year. Thanks again for a great place...

The Southern Cross Cabin was GREAT!! The location couldn't have been better and the owners were so accommodating. The cabin comfortable slept 8 people and had a great kitchen for cooking big meals for everyone. We already are planning on a return next summer and meeting up with my family once again. I would highly recommend renting the Southern Cross to anyone.

Great place for a family getaway!

Guest: Montana Native (Montana)
Date of Stay: 04/02/10 Review Submitted: 06/03/10

We stayed at the Southern Cross cabin with our extended family over Easter break. We had a great time - the cabin was exactly as described. It was great to have a dishwasher and washer/dryer and all of the supplies were provided. We only had to bring food and clothes. The kids had plenty of room to play, we made Easter dinner, played board games, fired up the sauna, took walks and generally relaxed. The ski resort is very close and the views of the lake are great. We drove to Fairmont Hot Springs nearby and soaked in the hot pools one night. The cabin had everything we needed and we will definitely like to stay here again.

2009 Visit

Guest: choochoofoot (East Grand Forks, Minnesota)
Date of Stay: 08/28/09 Review Submitted: 06/02/10

My wife and I had a truly remarkable visit last year. We stayed at the Cabin for three days and got some great fishing in during the visit. Georgetown is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Southern Cross Cabin was in First Class condition. Everything was clean, clean, clean. We had the good fortune to meet the owners. What a remarkable couple. We are hoping to visit again this year to do a little visiting, sightseeing, and a couple of days fishing on Georgetown Lake's fabulous trout fishing. Thank You for giving us the opportunity to comment on this Property.
