Just a few miles east on 98 from the hustle and bustle of Destin, Blue Mountain Beach provides a quiet and peaceful retreat. Carl (and his wife Beth) have worked hard to make Carl's Cabana into a true home away from home. Stone floors and countertops as well as original art work throughout. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home has new furnishings and deluxe 400+ count linens. Both bathrooms (one with a spa tub spacious for two) has fluffy towels for real sized people. The master bedroom has a king bed and a 27" flat screen TV w/DVD and iHome. The second bedroom has both a full and a queen bed. The living room has a sofa bed and a 42" flat screen TV w/DVD as well as a stereo with iPod connection. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want, including: microwave, stove, refrigerator w/ice maker, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, crock pot and toaster. You name it, we have thought of it!
The large, private sunset view terrace is perfect for catching some rays or star gazing the night away. It is fully furnished with a gas grill, large dining table and warm sea breezes.

Why the Owner Chose Mirasol
Why is very simple. It was the area. Blue Mountain Beach still retains that small seaside atmosphere. It's quiet and is a mix of private homes and condos. Our's is a townhouse in a complex of only 8 units. It's free of all the daily stress, and is what a vacation is all about.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
I enjoy getting up early, grabbing a mug of coffee and going out for a walk along Blue Mountain Rd. It's always free of traffic and you get to meet your neighbors. Everyone is very friendly. I might walk down Blue Mountain Rd. and then go down to the beach and walk back on the sand. I also love to bike and the area is very bike friendly with bike lanes and bike paths everywhere.
Beth loves to head down to the beach with a good book and just read. The beach never gets crowded and the pictures here are of the beach at our beach entrance. You can enjoy the beach without being overrun. There are fisherman going after pompano and others gather crab at sunset.
In the evening there is plenty of nightlife just a short distance away. Great locally owned restaurants to satisfy every taste and budget. For those who want to eat in, there is a Publix in Seaside just a short distance away. My neighbor bikes to it and comes back with her bike basket full. Want more nightlife or shopping? Then venture into Destin and enjoy the outlet mall and the high end shops at The Grand Boulevard.
We just love everything about the area, and we really have outfitted the unit to make us comfortable when we are there rather than outfitting it just as a rental.

Carl and Beth live in Nashville, TN where Carl works in commercial real estate and Beth is an attorney who specializes in forensics. We enjoy getting away and relaxing now that we are empty nesters. We love getting to the beach and this really was a unique find. We find Blue Mountain Beach the perfect place to unwind.

Our family had a wonderful time at Carl's Cabana. The location was perfect and our son really enjoyed riding his bike to the beach. There was very little traffic. The townhome had such style and everything was so clean. I especially loved all of the artwork. Thanks so much for sharing your vacation home with our family. Owner response:This is the experience Beth and I want all our guests to have when they stay at Carl's Cabana, and we really appreciate the fine review. There is not much more I can add except to elaborate on a few of the reviewer's points. First, we really have furnished it for our comfort as our little getway for when we want to get out of Nashville, and not strictly as a rental property. What can I say? My wife has good taste in furnishings, and has just worked with a decorator on a new paint scheme for next year. Plus having a good cleaning company is very important. Second, parents with children seem to like the unit for several reasons. First, it's layout is ideal, with a master suite up, and the second bedroom and bath down. Parents can have their space. That is also true more than one couple. Third, it's on a very quiet street, and traffic has never been an issue. It's really great for young children, whether they bike or not. Though, with the beach just across the street, it really is not much of a ride, but I guess that depends on the age of the child. Plus, I did not appreciate it until recently, but the beach entrance, just across the street, has very clean restrooms, and is a lifeguard station. So facilities and help are always close at hand. Lastly, I never have mentioned the artwork that is in the unit. The photography work is all my work, and it makes me feel good that someone else enjoyed it. I thank you for that. In closing, it's really nice to have what you say in your ad validated by a renter. If you are considering renting from us, and have any questions or special needs, please do not hesitate to call me directly. Your calls are always welcome.

My sisters and I had a wonderful weekend at Carl's Cabana! The condo is beautifully decorated and clean. It is ideally situated with a very short walk to the sugar-white beach. The owners are wonderful to deal with and helped make our stay perfect. You can't find a better way to spend a beach vacation!
