Our cabin is a charming retreat in a native woodland setting. It's in the heart of Deep Creek Lake, offering recreational activities year round. Wisp Ski Resort is 2.3 miles and the lake is a short stroll away. Stay at our cozy hideaway and enjoy the hot tub under the stars. In winter you'll find a snow filled wonderland as you relax by the crackling fire. Spring, summer or fall take a swim, explore nature or go boating. Walk to the nearby cafe or stay and have cappuccino on the deck. Take a day trip to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater. Our cabin is an accommodating, truly hip, cozy getaway for families and singles. It's the place for a wonderful healthy break at an affordable price.
Eco-Friendly Living
It's our goal to have the cabin completely renewable(green)and self sufficient, as soon as technology and financing allows(keep renting and we will get there sooner!) Currently we have used eco-paints that do not emit harmful gases. We've furnished the cabin using Craig's list which means most everything is recycled at least one generation. We use renewable products and recycle whenever possible. Water is renewably drawn from our well and heat is enhanced from the fireplaces.
The landscape is a native hemlock and pine forest with moss strewn boulders and ferns. At nearby Swallow Falls, a 12 minute drive, you can see spectacular waterfalls and Maryland's last stand of old growth hemlock forest with 300 year old trees.
We will continue to make changes to the property in keeping with a greener world. We would appreciate your insights in creating a "greener" cabin as well. Here's to a healthy body, mind, planet and lifestyle. We look forward to sharing our cabin retreat with you.

We picked this cabin because of the many positive reviews we read. Our expectations were exceeded beyond even that! The place is so charming and has so many thoughtful, delightful details. The owners have done a wonderful job making this rustic cabin into a cozy oasis in the woods. From the delightful artwork to the cool collection of games, books and puzzles, this place is just a gem. This is the best stocked rental property I have personally ever stayed in. If you are wavering about whether to spend the extra $50 for the linens....DO! You arrive to having all the beds made with high quality sheets and warm cozy comforters and bed clothes. Fluffy towels that are nothing like the starched white rental linens you usually get when you rent linens. All the beds were heavenly (the king master was superb). The set up of the cabin is perfect for families with kids. Our kids loved their turf (the basement with the bunk room, foosball table, tv and their own table area for puzzling or games). We loved the cozy living area upstairs with the fireplace, kitchen and two bedrooms. One really nice perk was the deerpark fresh water! We always take a case of water (or two) when we head to a rental home. It was nice to have the water dispenser in the kitchen where we could get fresh water for the coffee pot or whatever other needs. Very thoughtful! Can't say enough how much thought the owners put in to all the details. Perfect! Most important, check around, you get all this and one of the most reasonable prices for the number of bedrooms/bathrooms in the deep creek area and so close to the Lake and Wisp Resort. Oh, and the owner is kind and quick with correspondence, a pleasure to deal with. Without a doubt we will book this cabin for another ski weekend! Thank you so much!

I agree with most of the reviews written about this cabin. Our experience included an issue with the hot tub (heater broke), which of course happens to anyone. The owners were very responsive, getting a repair person out the next day. Yes, there is no AC and no dishwasher, but this is a nicely furnished, rustic cabin. And compare the price - it is well worth the rental rate.

We had a wonderful experience here. My husband and I had our two children with us ages 8 and 9 months, and we also invited another couple to stay with us as well. We had plenty of room, and quite frankly could have invited another 2 or 3 people. Everyone had adequate privacy and space. The cabin itself was so charming with everything you could possibly think of then some! There were quirky and charming things to discover behind every door, and on every shelf. The back porch, hot tub, and huge rocks to build the fire pit on were enjoyed by all! We loved fishing and swimming off the dock - and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The actual property was much more private than many of the other cabins and homes near the lake, yet it is close enough to the state parks and town. I honestly cannot say enough about this property. The beds were comfy, the atmosphere was so great. There is a book, movie, game, or piece of art in that cabin for absolutely everyone of any taste to just sit and enjoy. It's almost kind of nice that there are not more photos posted of this property, because it was such a pleasant surprise when we arrived. This cabin is not fancy with bells and whistles, but the charm and uniqueness will impress anyone that can appreciate the charm of simple and thoughtful touches. The owners were great, east to work with, and very helpful. I hope to visit again soon!

A couple of friends and I rented this cabin, thinking it looked cute. Actually it was completely charming. We loved the books, movies, games, well stocked kitchen and the general ambiance was much nicer than the photos show. The huge boulders in the back yard are beautiful. Thanks to the owners for making this place adorable. Next time we'll try to leave the cabin and see more of the area!

We booked this cozy, charming cabin and spent the weekend with 3 other couples. We were worried that 8 people would be a little crammed, but it worked out perfectly! Three couples had their own rooms and one couple used the couch in the downstairs living area which was tucked away. We had a great time cooking meals together, spending time in the hot tub and RELAXING!! The cabin is not super fancy or anything, but has the perfect charm that made us feel at home and able to relax and get away from it all. The house was clean and had every type of ammenity you would need including a washer and dryer. The onwers we re great about explaining everything about th ehouse before our arrival and they have a notebook there with local attractions which could be very helpful! It was only 5 mins from WISP and walking distance to the lake. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and grill we found in the backyard. Highly recomend this comfy cabin!!

Just spent 5 days in this cabin and had we not already commited my husband, infant, and two toddlers would have driven back home. If you want to stay during warm months don't...it gets hot and there is no AC. Second, if you plan to cook a lot make sure you bring plastic ware and paper plates. Unless you like to spend a lot of time washing dishes. The beds are probably the best thing about this place. It has a musty smell, which for kids is not great at all. I tolerated it but unfortunately my family and I will not rent this place again. The showers looked original to this 50's something cabin (I am guessing). I wore sandals in the shower because they were yellow in color. The decor and furniture are great but what does that matter if you can't get a good nights sleep to enjoy not only the cabin but the rest of Deep Creek Lake. Sorry but we can't recommend this place to anyone in the summer, and even in the winter...with the musty smell I would be worried about getting sick. The owner was very kind but I think this place needs some updating before renting out again.

I recently rented this cabin - which has been renovated more since the photos. It is immaculate, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything a cabin should have - including an amazing collection of interesting books and movies. Also - it is ideal for a family with children, or two families, because the lower level has a bedroom with bunk-beds, an entertainment room with large t.v and game table, and dining area, plus two sleeper sofas. This floor is well enough separated from the upper level so that while you can run down to check on the kids, you can still have your adult time upstairs. The owners are considerate, available and very friendly. Highly recommended!

Four friends and I decided to rent this cabin for a girls weekend to celebrate a birthday. It was so cute and cozy, we greatly enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. It was also in a great location close to Swallow Falls, where we did some great hiking. We would definately stay again. The King bed was the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on, I had the greatest sleep of my life!!!

We (4 adults & 3 kids under 4) had a fabulous week here. The cabin is great and brilliantly well equipped. It has a fab location near to McHenry, local State Parks (and beaches onto the lake) and other local things to do. The owners were really helpful in getting everything organized and answering queries promptly. We would definitely go back here!

My family and I chose this rental because of the eco-friendly description and for it's great price. It far exceeded our expectations. The decor is charming and the cabin was clean and inviting. The wooded setting allows for maximum privacy while enjoying the hot tub on the deck. My kids loved hiking to the local cafe and warming by the fire after a day in the snow. We can't wait for summer so that we may rent again and enjoy the activities on the lake. Not your average Deep Creek Lake cabin!!!!
