This large comfortable home was designed to bring the outside in. The main house has three bedrooms and three baths plus the bonus of a fully equipped separate studio, custom kitchen with all appliances and high ceilings throughout.
The master bedroom has a king size teak four poster bed and the bath has a walk-in rainforest marble shower.
There is a guest bedroom with a queen size bed and it's own cream marble spa tub/shower, also a third bedroom currently being used as an office with a single daybed.
A lovely one bedroom one bath guest studio above the garage with high vaulted ceilings, a king size bed, wet bar, mini-fridge, with hardwood floors, travertine stone shower surround, a television sitting area, and it's own lanai.
The large pocket doors in the main house slide open to expose the kitchen, great room and master bedroom to the large covered lanai and endless stunning views of the South Kona coast and the City of Refuge National Park.
We are located in Captain Cook, in the community of McCoy Plantation, 20 minutes south of Kailua Kona, on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii.
Our home is on a lush and mostly wild acre of land in a neighborhood of million dollar homes. We have papaya, avocado and guava growing on the property.
There is a grocery store up the hill and several great places to dine nearby.

Year Purchased: 2006
We are Meghan and Rick Shively. We are experienced travelers and love sharing stories and meeting new people. We are happy to help advise about the best beaches, and activities in our area and around the island. We have lived in Hawaii since 1989 and have seen the Big Island grow and change over the years. There is still the essence of Old Hawaii here, where people are living with aloha in the Captain Cook area. Come and enjoy the slower pace, and the spectacular vistas of Captain Cook.

We built this house two and a half years ago. The location is unbeatable. The views are stunning, and at the end of the road we enjoy the quiet days disturbed only by birds song and an occasional gecko.
