San Miguel de Allende and The Flowerpot? AMAZING

We just finished the month of March at The Flowerpot and enthusiastically reiterate all of the positive comments in other reviews. Minerva, her on-site property manager Erika, Erika's assistant Jonathan, the weekly maid Elizabeth and the weekly gardener from the Botanical Gardens all conspire to make your time at The Flowerpot easy and most enjoyable. The kitchen, bedrooms and rooftop patio in particular are very spacious and the whole house is colourfully decorated in the Mexican tradition. We appreciated the well-equiped kitchen and enjoyed a few dinners at home utilizing the built-in gas grill on the rooftop patio. However, there are literally an unending number of very good restaurants within a 2 to 20 minute walk of The Flowerpot that serve lunches or dinners (and breakfasts) at amazingly inexpensive prices, so we ate at home infrequently. SMA has been populated with approximately a 10% component of expats since the 1960's. There are activities in English literally every day and it is amazingly easy to meet interesting and interested people during concerts, walking tours, house tours, plays, lectures or while just wandering the streets and shops or enjoying the shade on one of the many benches in the Jardin Principal, the main square, a 15 minute walk or $2 to $3 cab ride from The Flowerpot. The architecture in most of San Miguel is colourful and reminiscent of that in France or Italy, while the prices in general are much less. The weather is near perfect. Our days were a bit warmer than usual, in the high 80's, sunny with some cloud while the evenings and nights were deliciously cool going down to around 50. We only experienced one brief shower all month! For either a relaxing or intellectually stimulating vacation in a friendly but foreign culture, choose The Flowerpot! P.S. Our visitor flew into Mexico City then took the comfortable First Class Bus from the airport to San Miguel for a very reasonable $32 fare for the 3-1/2 hour ride. Taxis and busses in San Miguel and throughout Mexico are plentiful, clean and inexpensive. It is easy to get around without a car.

"The Flowerpot" - a Home Away From Home

Our stay at the "Flowerpot" was an extremely wonderful experience. We spent the month of February in San Miguel and this was the perfect place to live. It was exactly as advertized on this website. Every picture shown is exactly as it was when we arrived. The home is situated in the lovely local neighborhood of San Antonio. It is a nice walk to the central "Jardin". We thoroughly enjoyed the decor which gave us a definite flavor of this wonderful town. We also especially enjoyed the rooftop patio with it's splendiferous views of the town. Whenever we entertained, it was up on the roof and our guests enjoyed the views as well. This was our first time taking a month away from home in the winter and our decision to try San Miguel was the right one. We have friends who spend five months in San Miguel and they boasted about it so much that we decided to take a chance on it. We made the right decision. The weather was perfect - warm days and cool nights. Of course, our stay at the "Flowerpot" was so exceptional not only because of its wonderful amenities, but because of your staff Minerva. They were there for us whenever we had a question or a need of any sort. Thanks to your Property Manager, Erika and her assistant, Jonathan for always having the answers for us. And most of all, thank you to Elizabeth, our house cleaner. She is a most efficient and energetic person, always keeping your "casa" in tip top shape. My husband and I would highly, highly recommend your home to anyone who wants to relax in comfortable surroundings, and enjoy exploring the beautiful town of San Miguel, and surrounding places. There are quite a few towns nearby that would make great daytrips. Or you could just spend time enjoying this wonderful and town. Thanks again Minerva for sharing your home with us.

2 months at Flower Pot

We immediately loved that your home was in a local Mexican neighborhood. The produce tienda right next door equaled the best stand at the Mercado. Of course, the best feature is the magnificent roof top terrace with the covered seating area with gas fireplace, toilet area, and pretty much full kitchen - we enjoyed it every day and entertained frequently but never got around to using the gas barbeque as El Reconcito the local, cheap and wonderful restaurant was only a half block - our friends would request the whole package. The 20 minute leisurely walk to the Jardin was just right. As good as the terrace are Erika and Tulip the owner's of Home Solutions that managed the property; they were right on the spot for any needs be it an object or advice.

My wife and our son had a wonderful stay at Minerva's beautiful home. It is as it is described in her ad. It is also safe, and a lovely walk to the centro part of town. We also liked that it was a combination of Gringos and Mexicans and found the Mexican neighbors to be friendly, colorful, and polite. Her upstairs terrace is one step closer to heaven with an incredible view. Her house has everything you need for your comfort and pleasure. We found her house manager, Erika, extremely efficient, dynamic, and helpful making for a highly enjoyable stay. Minerva the owner is a person that once you have met her you feel you have a friend for life.

My husband, son and I stayed at the "Flower Pot" for a week in July! It was a wonderful experience! Every need we had was taken care of right away either by the owner or the managers. It is a safe neighborhood (we walked a lot at night and never had a problem)about 15 minutes from Centro. There is a fruit and veggie stand next door and a food stand (tacos, burgers, etc..) right in front of the house. Be sure to explore the neighborhood as there are many places to eat and there is also a beautiful church and park not far. Thank you Minerva for sharing your beautiful casa with us.

My husband and I stayed in the Flower Pot for 5 days this month with another couple. It was a truly enjoyable experience. The house is filled with Mexican charm in every corner - the colors are fantastic. We really enjoyed all the cooking equipment - everything you need to make your own gourmet meal! The neighborhood is wonderful - San Antonio is a real mix of gringo and Mexican families. There is a wonderful small market next door and a great butcher around the corner. The owner is terrific to work with and made our stay very comfortable.
