Come visit us in our "Ohana" (Hawaiian for family) guest cabin.
It's a perfect base for exploring all of Southwest Colorado, while enjoying everything Vallecito Lake has to offer! This is a newer lovely studio with a complete island kitchen. Enjoy a fire in the glass front wood-stove set on the river-rock wall.
Just perfect for newlyweds or for a romantic getaway. The aspen covered ceilings are vaulted, and it's definitely decorated "Colorado" with a little "pilot's lounge" touch. You can enjoy the large patio with BBQ and umbrella tables over-looking the garden and yard area surrounded by mountain views.
Walk up to the view deck for boat watching on the lake. It's just a beautiful setting - we haven't had any regretful travelers in the few years it's been rented, so we welcome you to beautiful Vallecito Lake!
Durango is just 35 minutes away with all the fine dining and tourist attractions you could want. Take a day trip on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway or to mysterious Mesa Verde National Park. Go white water rafting or just shop at the charming stores on Main Avenue.
Owners are on site in the main house and will assist you with as much or as little travel help as you desire.

Year Purchased: 2003
We found Vallecito Lake in 1989 while on a "wild west" vacation with family. We were astounded at the beauty at the lake, and loved the convenience of Durango for shopping and dining. We purchased our land in 1993 after coming back from California a couple of times, then built the home in 1996. We added the "Ohana" guest house in 2003. We have since moved up here and semi-retired, and also maintain a home in Phoenix.

We're vacation renting our home mainly because we want others to experience the magic, beauty and tranquility that we have found at Vallecito Lake, CO.

We love nature hikes and looking for edible mushrooms, ATV'ing, fishing on the lake, bike riding and just being at home to BBQ a great meal!
