Spring and Summer will give you the warm mountain days and cool mountain nights. A great escape from the city. Hike directly to National Forest out the back door and through the valleys and hills. Moose and deer will most likely be a part of your experience.

This one of a kind property on 5 acres, offers something for everyone who loves the mountains and those of you on your first experience. If you have horses, we have 3 separate pastures and 2 loafing sheds for the horse enthusiast, all bordering National Forest makes this truly a mountain paradise. This is a horse lovers, fishermens, hikers and mountain bikers, snowshoeers and XX skiing dream vacation home. Recently remodeled and beautifully maintained, the home has a wrap around deck from which you can listen to the water rippling along the 330 feet of Lone Pine Creek that runs through the property; Crystal Lakes has many fishing lakes (fishing passes required and can be purchased at Crystal Lakes office see the description below) or take your horses down for a drink of the cold, clear mountain water. Relax in the hot tub on the deck and enjoy the magnificent view during the day or the night sky shimmering above you after a day of riding, hiking or biking in the National Forest. You can access National Forest directly from the property and go for hundreds of miles. Please know there is no hunting or shooting from our property.

Inside the house you can relax in front of a roaring fire in the magnificent Fireplace Extraordinaire as you sip your favorite beverage while lounging on the soft leather furniture. The great room that houses the fireplace has a ceiling fan that keeps the warm air flowing and a Dish Network satellite TV. Incredible views of the beautiful outdoors accompany you throughout every room.

The dining area is adjacent to the great room and next to the newly remodeled kitchen that has granite counter tops, all new cabinetry, an electric range and refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave and great utensils if you like to cook.

When you, too, are ready for a restful night, make your way to the master bedroom on the main floor or to the 2nd bedroom on the upper level. This level has a loft overlooking the great room and allowing the warmth and aroma of the fire to follow you. The 3rd bedroom has a large day bed that turns into a king size bed or two single beds. A double futon is in the playroom on the main level. We can accommodate up to 8 people. The house has baseboard heat for chilly nights that don't warrant a fire in the fireplace. But the fireplace can heat the entire home if you like.

Open April through December, Creekside Corral is truly a house for all seasons. Come see for yourself and enjoy a piece of paradise!

Dogs and Horses are an additional day charge.

This property was perfect for our family: kids, adults, dogs all loved the seclusion and roomy house. A perfect holiday home and the moose and her calf did visit.

Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Manager response: We are so glad that you were able to celebrate your family Christmas at Creekside. Having Christmas in the mountains is a special experience and we we do our best to provide that for our guests and of course their pets. We wish we could take credit for the moose and her calf but that was her present to you all. Such fun when that happens. Sometimes the moose may decide to sun themselves in the yard for hours. Thank you so much for the wonderful review and we hope that you return to visit us again. Creekside Corral is a special destination in the Spring/Summer and Fall as well. Please come again. Mary and Bill Cook

What a property! We could not have asked for a more beautiful property in a more beautiful location. Even our dog, Rosie, loved it! I really hesitate writing this because I want to keep this "secret" to ourselves. Once everyone else finds out, we will never be able to rent it again - something we plan on doing many more times!

Manager response: We are so happy that Creekside was everything you were looking for and hope that it provided a very memorable 2014 New Year for you. We love our home and think it is so very special but to hear it from our guests puts it over the top. We welcome you back any time and please know your return visits are discounted. Spring/Summer/Fall will provide new wonders at Creekside. Thank you for your wonderful review. Mary and Bill Cook

What a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday stay we had. The home was clean, warm and welcoming! The hot tub was an added bonus and was used quite a bit! We went on a 4 hour hiking adventure taking in the scenic mountains, streams and meadows. Our german shepherd was in heaven as well. Both Mary & Barb were a pleasure to work with. Let's just say that we were already talking about coming back very soon and we had not even left yet! It's a wonderful property and will be even more gorgeous when the lake project has been completed.

Mary and Barb were great to work with. The home was better than expected, clean, spacious, beautiful, warm and relaxing. Quite the surprise to see a Hot Tub on the deck, missed that in the description, but made for wonderful nights in the cold moutnain air. Hiked the property and enjoyed the stay, saw 2 cow moose and one yearling. And the fireplace inside kept us warm and cozy. We will be back in the summer with horses.

Unfortunately we were unable to make it for our weekend due to the terrible flooding and road closures Colorado experienced. We were going to leave Friday and then tried Saturday but mother nature was against us. The owner and the manager were awesome before and after the fact. Very nice people. Since it was due to extreme weather issues I was refunded my money and offered a discount on my next stay. As soon as I can get time off again from my two jobs we are definitely going to get up there to stay. Our prayers go out to those that experienced damage from the floods.

Manager response: We applaud your fortitude in trying to reach our home on probably the most difficult weekend of travel in Colorado. I know this was going to be such a special weekend for you and we are sorry it didn't turn out. We are one of the fortunate ones with no damage to our home or the Red Feather Lakes area. We are looking forward to sharing our wonderful home with you and providing a great mountain experience. Our guests over the years are our best advertising. Thank you for your kind words and we hope you can visit us soon. Mary and Bill Cook and Barb Bowman, our property manager.

We spent 3 nights here and were very happy with our choice. The cabin is situated near the end of a road, offering a lot of seclusion. The kitchen was furnished with everything you need - beautiful glassware, plates, and loads of spices. The deck was beautiful and the hot tub very relaxing after a long day of hiking and fishing. We love the fact that we could bring along our dog, who loved exploring the area without venturing out too far. The only disappointment was learning, just before we left, that the lake next to the property had recently been drained because they are going to enlarge the lake. It would have been more convenient to walk 2 minutes to this lake rather than have to drive. There were other lakes in the area to fish, such as Catawba pond (a 25 minute drive). Here, we did excellent fishing, catching 14 to 18 inch Rainbows. One other tip is: go during the week. It is much less crowded than the weekend. Also, if you have horses, this is the place to go.

Manager response: Thanks so much for staying at Creekside. We are glad that you had such a nice time and that you caught fish....we are sorry they chose to drain our lake this early for a Fall project but that was out of our control. There are a number of other lakes to fish in the area within 15 minutes of our home. I will make sure that list is available to all. Come back next year to a lake 3 times the size with lots and lots of fish :)We do our best to provide you with all the conveniences of home and are glad you appreciated that. Thanks and we hope to see you again. Mary and Bill Cook

The property was as nice as it was pictured online... we had no trouble finding it but have a truck driver's GPS that might have more extensive coverage than the regular GPS. We only stayed a weekend so liked that it was just an hour or so out of Fort Collins, away, but not too much driving time. We took our 12 year old daughter who thought she was in heaven with the hot tub all weekend and our two dogs who loved the walks and opportunity to explore! It was great that the property is wheelchair accessible since my older dog doesnt like stairs, he was able to get onto the deck via the ramp... perfect! We did see a moose but not while at the house, but we may not have gotten up early enough to see the wildlife, we were too comfy in the beds. We had a great time hiking and did some fishing at a nearby lake and would love to return when the reservoir on the property is finished. Both the owner and property manager were easy to work with and very nice. Thanks for the use of your great home!

Yes, it is a dog paradise and since we love our dogs and know how important it is to travel with them, we love to have them at Creekside. Please do come and visit us again. My family and I always wanted to experience Christmas in the mountains, let's just say choosing Creekside Corral was the perfect decision. The home is wonderful, warm and inviting, with tasteful decor and everything you need for a pleasant stay. The stone fireplace made for cozy winter evenings, banked by huge windows on either side letting you enjoy the morning sun and beautiful outdoor surroundings at any time of day. The outdoor setting surrounding Creekside is just as wonderful, a nature lovers paradise with something beautiful to see in every direction. Our 2 Beagles had a great time running and sniffing in every direction as we hiked through the snow each day. The owners of the home are great to work with and answered all our questions before we arrived. This is a great place to "recharge" and get back in touch with what's really important in life!!!!!!!! We had a wonderful Christmas and hope to visit again sometime!!

Tried to fish but too much snow blowing and wind. Enjoyed a much needed relaxing weekend. Can't think of anything this weekend or house didn't provide that I was wanting or needing. Thank you.

This was a wonderful weekend getaway! We loved the cabin, the hot tub, everything! It was a perfect place to get away and relax. Saw a mother moose and her two babies on the way in and a few mule deer thoughout the weekend. Plus heard the coyotes howling at night! We will definitely be back!

About: Bill and Mary Cook welcome you to Creekside Corral. We know you will enjoy your stay and we are delighted to be able to share our home with you. We know the amenities we offer will be appreciated, that you will feel totally at home and we do promise you a fabulous vacation! Mountain living at its best!

                      Why Red Feather Lakes:
We fell in love with this property as soon as we drove in the driveway in July, 2002 and made an offer that same day. The view of the lake directly from the property and the access to national forest to the east and south made it feel liked we owned the valley. Fabulous fishing in the private lakes, hiking in our valley and the national forest that is adjacent to our property, mountain biking, cross crountry skiing and snowshoeing are just a few of the reasons that Creekside Corral is so special.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Bring your dog or your horses -- an amenity that is special to our home. The hot tub on the deck provides wonderful views of the lake and the valley on the other side provides great views and beautiful hikes and mountain biking at its best. Summer is perfect for all your personal outside enjoyment. Come for the Holidays as our home is very festively decorated. Beaver Meadows Resort is five minutes away as is Base Camp at Crystal Lakes, both provide restaurants and other amenities for the vacationer. The Town of Red Feather has grocery stores, a hardware store, library and restaurants as well as some fun shops. WiFi is available at most restaurants. The treasures of the mountains are endless.
