There are two queen size beds in two of the bedrooms and one room has two small single beds. There is also a Pack and Play available for a baby. And there is an inflatable queen size bed that can be used in the sunroom to accomodate extra sleeping.
THE GROUNDS
Immediately your attention will be drawn to the small stream of water meandering over a rock bed next to the house. This comes from an artesian well that is 200 feet deep in the granite ledge. Artesian wells are more common in sand and very uncommon in granite.
Because of the artesian well, there is a constant stream of water coming from the ground. Not only is the water in the cabin some of the best water you’ll ever taste, the water outside can provide for a cool thirst quenching break from the heat. The cabin has total privacy with no neighbors.
THE RIVER/LAND
The total acreage is approximately 6.5 with 300 feet of river frontage. The cabin is set back from the river so as to not be visible from the river, yet maintains a view of the river. At the river’s edge there is a picnic area. There are also two wooden platforms for setting up tents.
The land is wooded with a mix of small pine, some large pine old growth and hardwood. There are walking paths throughout wooded lot. There are no houses on either side of the lot. It is not uncommon to see a lot of wildlife. There are many deer, grouse, eagles that nest just up the river, and an occasional bear. The 6.5 acres that the cabin sit on abutts 1500 acres of undeveloped land.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
In the summer months you can enjoy hiking or mountain biking, swimming in the river, canoeing or kayaking or fishing. The Chippewa river is one of the best rivers for fishing in the state of Wisconsin. Seven miles straight north is where the Chippewa River comes out of the Chippewa Flowage. At the Flowage there is a great new boat landing. An entire day could be spent exploring the flowage via boat.
TUSCOBIA TRAIL
The cabin is 3/4 of a mile from Tuscobia Trail. This is a premiere trail for ATVs in the spring through fall and Snowmobiling in the winter. The best thing is that the cabin is far enough away from the trail that you never see or hear atvs or snowmobiles. So, if that does not interest you, you won't be bothered by any noise. If you are into atving or snowmobiling, you have close access to the trail.
PROFESSIONAL FISHING GUIDE
There is a professional fishing guide that lives about 1 mile down the road. He is available to take people out for day trips to some of the best fishing spots in the area. He has very reasonable rates, provides shore lunches at noon, and cleans and packs fish at the end of the day. His guiding services are perfect for novices who are not sure what bait to use to experienced people who just want to get to the best locations right away. Inquire about rates.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
In the winter there is also plenty of land to go cross country skiing or snowshoeing. The road down to the cabin is a perfect sled run in the winter months.

Beautiful New 3 Bedroom Cabin on the Chippewa River
Year Purchased: 2008
Why the Owner Chose Winter
On trips to and from my parents (now in Eagle River, WI) we found that we kept stopping about half way for baby-out-of-the-car breaks. One small park in Ojibwa next to the Chippewa River saw many diaper changes. Since the trip was about 4.5 hours, and we were wanting to get away on the weekends more often to have our kids know a country experience, we started to look in this area. It was perfect for us. A half way point for my parents and siblings in WI and next to a river. My wife and I have taken a houseboat all the way down the Mississippi River and enjoy the freedom of rivers.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
When we are at the cabin we enjoy going on hikes and kayaking in the river. We also enjoy being so close to the Chippewa Flowage and a national park. In the winter our driveway down to the cabin is a perfect sled run for us and the kids.
Boat landing is fairly new and has parking for vehicles and trailers
One of the best greenhouses in the state. A must see for anyone with a green thumb
A good place to pick up everything from groceries to beer and wine to hardware supplies
Park is on the Chippewa River and has grills and a shelter as well as a large field that can be used for baseball or soccer
Owner's Map of Winter
We currently live in Minneapolis, and before that I lived in Madison, WI. My wife and I grew up in rural locations. I grew up in northern Wisconsin near Rhinelander and my wife grew up near Hanover, NH.
