Awesome Cabin!

Guest: Southernaut (Portland)
Date of Stay: 01/27/12 Review Submitted: 01/30/12

The cabin, the island and hospitality of its residents exceeded all our expectations. At the end of 3 days spent on Guemes Island we were already planning our next visit! The cabin owners are exceedingly nice people who went above and beyond to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay, even providing detailed information about hikes in the area (with astounding year round views). The cabin itself is spacious an beautiful with a georgeous view of the sound at night. Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful house with an amazing view and easy access to the trail leading to top of Guemes Mountain. Couldn't recommend this palce more. Also, I left my overnight bag at the house and Matt (Owner) was extremely cool about it and responsive (even though he was at the airport)!!

Quiet Escape

Guest: Relaxed and Happy (Seattle, WA, USA)
Date of Stay: 11/24/11 Review Submitted: 11/28/11

I hardly want to share my positive reaction to this place because I wish it could remain our secret getaway spot forever. The house is breathtaking in it's beauty, truly an architectural treasure that inspires relaxation. Nestled into the side of a remote, peaceful, forested hill, this location is perfect for those who prefer nature walks, board games, writing/painting/reading in peace or gazing out at the water over a cup of tea, coffee, chocolate. The interior is an inviting combination of cozy and modern, home away from home: fully equipped kitchen, a wall of french doors that open onto a gorgeous big deck, master bedroom with windows all around, loft sleeping area and a sitting area focused around an amazing wood-burning stove - warm in winter, cool in summer with the well-planned climate control options. Comfort is yours with the luxurious bathroom and antique charm peppered throughout the design and furnishings. Thoroughly enjoyed by two adults, this home is also a perfect, baby and child-friendly place to enjoy family time away from the electronics and technology of frenzied modern life.

Island beauty

Guest: Angela (Steilacoom, WA )
Date of Stay: 07/05/11 Review Submitted: 07/16/11

What an expected wonder! My family and I were so pleasantly surprised at the beauty of this island. Beaches, mountain, privacy... what more could we have needed? The perfect place to stay to enjoy it. We drank coffee on the deck while listening to music, went to the beach and collected beautiful stones, and walked to the mountain top just in time to see a magnificent sunset. The house was lovely with games for us to play, a deep tub to soak in, and everything in the kitchen we needed to make a fantastic meals. It's not a question of if we'll go back, but when we'll go back. Loved it!

Secret San Juan Island

Guest: Mike and Jim (Washington, DC)
Date of Stay: 06/21/09 Review Submitted: 03/26/10

My partner and I stayed at this house in June of 2009 and loved every minute of it. The setting is spectacular with great views of the channel. The house itself is furnished in a really warm, modern style. One of the best features is the deck, since the house is on a hillside you feel like you're in the treetops. The hiking opportunities from the house are great. We loved it so much we're returning again this summer!

We spent and entire week here after Labor Day. A perfect way to unwind and "disconnect" from the real world. Don't expect to do much besides read, sleep, eat, hike and enjoy nature. PERFECT for those who just want to do NOTHING!

This is my new favorite get-away destination! Much easier to access than the San Juan islands, this Guemes island home is uniquely beautiful with a welcoming spirit. I feel immediately at peace when I enter and a weekend stay feels like a refreshing vacation. It has access to the beach and a 360 mountain-top view. But the view from the home is the best. Lying on the couch next to the fire watching the sun set into the Sound is pure bliss - and why I keep coming back!

My wife and I stayed here as escape last year. What a fantastic place! Beautiful, secluded location with great views, huge deck, eagles soaring past - everything you could want in a place to get away from it all. The icing on the cake is the house itself - fantastic architecture, and wonderful little details - from the up-cycled door to the heated floor in the bathroom (luxury!) and the custom fireplace. Did I mention the view?
