Perfect location, right downtown, firehouse winery 2 doors down and they had live music both friday and saturday nights. House had everything we needed, it was clean and well maintained. Wayne and Ellie were more than helpful in anything we needed. Deck was so nice, right on water, and even though right in town, very quiet and peaceful. We had a great time wine tasting. Lots of nice wineries in the area. The town looks like its seen better days, but all in all a few nice bars and restaurants.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My Mom, my sisters and my nieces always go away for a long weekend in the Fall. This year we decided on Geneva-on-the-Lake. We couldnt have found a more wonderful place to stay than this. The house was clean, comfortable, close to many things and everything was there you needed! The pictures do not do it justice. We had a wonderful time even though the weather didnt cooperate. I would definitely and have already recommended this house to many friends and family! We plan on coming back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

House was way more than what we expecting. Right on the beach, had a rainy weekend, but the refreshments were ample to make it nice. Good food and good company. Home owners were very nice, had a problem with smoke alarm, but right there to make it right. Have all intentions of coming again next year, writing this as I'm looking up avaiblilty for a week next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We have stayed at many lodges, hotels, condos, and B&B’s over the years on our vacations, but nothing can compare to the character, comfort, cleanliness, and convenience that this unique beachfront house offers. The owners were very accommodating to our needs and we enjoyed getting to know them during our stay. Their pride and hard work in maintaining the property clearly showed, and we soon felt right at home. The peace and quiet during the off season at GOTL, the warm days and cool nights, the fine local wines, the walks in near-by Geneva State Park, the wide variety of dining in and out (two thumbs up for Alessandro’s and Lakehouse Inn Grille), the soothing sound of waves hitting the shore and the spectacular sunsets were all that we hoped for and experienced during our stay. This area is Ohio at its finest. Thanks to Wayne and Ellie for making our stay one that we will remember for many years to come, and one that we hope to revisit soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Right on the lake, quiet, fabulous location with beautiful sunsets. House was clean. However, no soap in the showers, the tub drains don't work right, windows would not crank, black ants, sheets and towels very thin, pillows thin, sheets on twin bed grey. The picture on the TV was fuzzy and only 1 frying pan, the lower rack of dishwashers had no rollers. Would not return.Owner response: We were sorry to hear that you had less than a spectacular experience at our beach house. We try our best to address any issues brought to our attention by our guests. You may be pleased to know that we have replaced the dishwasher, defeated the ants, found the other fry pan, and put the stopper back in the tub. We are working on the 2 out of 7 windows with wind damage, called the cable company about the picture, and will continue to replace sheets and pillows as needed. Our experience has shown that people generally prefer to provide their own personal products such as shower soap but we will consider your suggestion. Happy you found our place to be clean, quiet, a fabulous location, and that the sunsets were beatiful for you too.

The deck is wonderful to view the amazing sunsets. Tables and chairs for eating on the deck, playing cards, relaxing. Everything is there that you need to spend a great vacation. I would definitely return.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We have been going to GOTL for about 12 years and it is always a struggle to find a nice place to stay. In fact, we have never stayed at the same place twice. HOWEVER, from now on this is the ONLY place we will be staying. The view is spectacular and you can walk to everything. The deck is great and the house is equipped with everything you would ever need. Also, everything is very clean. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are already talking about when to make a reservation for next summer.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This house was the perfect house for a weekend getaway. The house was extremely clean, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The owners are very gracious and a pleasure to deal with. They provided a detailed list of the ammenities, which was very accurate. The photos accurately represent the property, and the views are even more spectacular in person! The location of the house is also ideal with "the strip" just a few steps away and close proximity to the wineries of the region. It's been crazy since we've been back.We had such a wonderful time staying at your place on our honeymoon and can't thank you enough for your hospitality. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect - the house is spotless, warm and welcoming, not to mention the location - an amazing spot overlooking Lake Erie. We are so thrilled that we chose to spend our honeymoon at your beach house. We are planning on returning in June and bringing some family with us to experience the people, the sites and history of Lake Erie. Excellent place! I stayed for the weekend with my fiance and some of her family and it was really therapeutic listening to the lake at night. It was a very comfortable place, also very clean and accommodating. I would recommend this place to be the number one choice when looking for a place to stay. This place was perfect for our girl's winter weekend getaway. The house is gorgeous - and spotless! We loved all the little touches that added to the seaside motif and the view is fantastic. Even though there's less to do in the area in winter, you really never want to leave the house anyway. We also appreciated the recommendation of Alessandro's for dinner. Awesome Italian food. This home is wonderful. Its in a great location with a wonderful view. The home has everything you need and more. The owners are very friendly! Me and friends rented the home for NewYears eve and we had a great time! The view was beautiful even in the winter! I have many friends that saw the pics and hope to rent it some time. We all plan to come back some time this summer also! Thank You for letting us rent your home and hope to see you again soon! This was our first stay, but most likely won't be our last. We had a wonderful view of the lake, the best I have EVER had, and we have stayed here all summer since the year I was born. Close to everything if it were in-season, but so peaceful off-season too!. The house had everything we needed and it made our weekend stay so easy. I had my two daughters with me (five and three years old), so the house is very kid-friendly! If you come in the summer be sure to eat at Eddie's Grill and try the Pink Catawba at the Firehouse Winery! Thank you Wayne and Ellie for sharing your house with us. What a wonderful week we had at what we refer to now as "the lake house". It had everything we needed to make us as comfortable as being at home. Every evening had the most amazing sunsets too!! We did festivals, covered bridges, Amish country, wineries...so much to do there. We can't wait to come back for another week in paradise. Thanks to Wayne and Ellie for their hospitality and sharing their home on Lake Erie, The Northern Coast! Close to most everything- their home is clean and comfortable for a weekend or the week. The wineries, lighthouses and covered bridges will make for fun adventure before relaxing at night on the water. We are officially offering the Lomas an annual trade of their water home on the lake for one weekend for one weekend at our camp on the Ohio River. We will run back up to the lake and watch the freighters and fishing boats go by. They can run down to the river and watch the barges go by! We will definately be back to their home regardless of if they accept our offer! The area is beautiful and their home is the nicest place in the area to stay!Did you find this review helpful? We just spent the weekend in this home. The owners were very pleasant. The home was very nice, comfortable, and clean. It felt like home. The views from the deck.... priceless! We rented this rental for a week in July. This is by far the nicest place we have ever stayed at Geneva on the Lake (we have vacationed there for 30+ years). The house is lovingly and thoughtfully decorated and it was spotless. The owners definitly made this "a home away from home." We loved it and reserved for next year already.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thanks so much, Wayne, for allowing us to stay in your comfortable home. The kids loved the beach and the deck, and we really enjoyed being in close walking distance to the arcades and restaurants.
