Overall a positive experience at Buzzards Roost. Very reasonable rate, compared to others that we considered. If we were to make this trip again in the future, we would consider staying again. Very convieniently located to attractions.

Vacation home review

Our family of 6 adults, 2 teens, and 2 children stayed at this property in mid-July 2011. THE PROS: This house is convenient to all Disney properties. The layout is perfect for multiply age families traveling together. There are many fast food, chain restaurants, and markets nearby. The pool was relaxing after a day at the parks. THE CONS: WE HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED OUR DEPOSIT AND RENTAL ADJUSTMENT AGREEMENT FROM THE OWNERS. WE HAVE INITIATED LEGAL ACTION IN ORDER TO COLLECT. When we arrived, the house had not been cleaned for new tenants. We contacted the management company number that we were provided. They refused to talk to us stating "we no longer manage that property because the owners owe us money." We contacted the owners and were assured that a cleaning crew would arrive soon. We waited from 4 o'clock check-in time until 7:30 pm. and no one showed up. We cleaned the entire house, washed all bed linens and towels, cleaned the kitchen, swept floors and scrubbed all 4 bathrooms. No cleaning products were in the house so we were thankful for the nearest market. Also, we had to buy chemicals to clean and clear up the pool, therefore, the kids couldn't swim for a couple of days. (Only reason we knew what to do is because we have a pool at home.) Upon vacating the house we cleaned AGAIN, did all laundry AGAIN, and put the trash out to the curb AGAIN, as stated in the rental agreement. We have used VRBO many times and never had any problems.

Owner response:The problems this lady encountered were what finally prompted us to change management companies. We now have first class management in place who do an excellent job of keeping our renters happy. The problem in returning the security deposit was caused by Paypal putting all the funds in the account on hold indefinately! Because of this, we no longer hold security deposits, preferring instead to take out accidental damage insurance at our expense. Hopefully by the time this is posted, the problem will have been resolved.

Lovely house, we had a great vacation and the kids loved the pool. Can't wait to come back!

july 2011 stay

I am posting this on my stay due to many issues i had on my stay. Several appliances didnt work the house was not properly cleaned found beer twist bottles all over the house. Tried contacting the number left to contact but they never came. Could not email owner due to inteenet not working. Also we contacted the owner when we arrived back home was promsied our refund back and to this date ae have recieved it. The owner will not return my emails on this issue i am having to file a complaint.

Owner response:During this ladies stay we did have some management issues which have all now been resolved. We now have a first class management company in place who are doing an excellent job of looking after the house and renters. Also, she had in fact received her deposit back some time ago but had not been informed by paypal.

We have used VRBO many times to book our vacation homes and this is the first time we had any problems. The pool was dirty and the heater did not work. Service company would not even return calls. If we had children with us, it would have been a big problem. With that said, the total experience was good. The house is laid out great for several couples and the area around the pool is great for outside dining. The house is showing age and needs to be updated but it was clean and had everything we needed (except ice maker). We would go back if we were given a great deal to compensate for pool problem.

Owner response:We are sorry this guest did not have a 100% positive experience at our rental home, and would like to assure him and all future renters that we now have brand new pool equipment fitted, and brand new management in place. I would like to thank Larry for bringing this problem to our attention and he will get a good deal in the future to compensate for any inconvenience.
