Why the Owner Chose StoweWe moved to Stowe from Boston full-time in 1998 because we fell in love with all that Stowe has to offer - the swimming, hiking, biking, skiing (xc, alpine and backcountry), snowboarding, riding, golfing and tennis as well as the active arts and music community. We were attracted to the more back-to-basics, healthy, environmental lifestyle and were pleasantly surprised by the true sense of community in Stowe. It is a real town with a tradition of hospitality, strong community spirit and a wealth of educational, cultural and social opportunities - with all of the attractions and benefits of a tourist town. It is the best of both worlds. Year round there is so much to do from all of the traditional winter sports to maple sugaring, the farmer's markets, Music in the Trapp Meadow, hiking and festival season (Stowe hosts various art, music, car, wine and hot air balloon festivals every summer), 3 of the world's best spas, natural attractions like Mount Mansfield, Bingham Falls, the Green River Reservoir, and the Lamoille River, and of course, several premier golf courses.
The Unique Benefits at this ApartmentWe spend much of the summer swimming in our pond, overlooking the mountains, playing on the pond's beach or walking the property and enjoying our several periennial gardens. On the property there is also a small, screened-in pond house and dock which is a great place to rest and have a glass of wine while watching the fish jump. You can also row out to Emma's island in the middle of the pond. There is also a tennis court and private sitting area by blueberry bushes for fresh picking during the summer months. Our property is close to the village center (2 miles) yet feels like you are in a private countryside. We are a short drive to the mountain and enjoy skiing or snowboarding early each morning during the winter.

My husband, I, and our 13 year old son just returned from our long weekend of snowboarding in nearby Stowe Mountain. Staying at Paige's home was wonderful, privacy that cannot be hoped for in a B&B or hotel. The apartment exceeded our expectations; the pictures do not do it justice! So nice to have a living room to relax in, and a small kitchen and fridge. After a long day on the mountain the super hot shower with great water pressure was awesome! HIGHLY recommend. We'll be back Paige!

This apartment is very comfortable after a long day skiing at nearby Stowe. The apartment is conveniently located and well maintained. There is a small efficiency kitchen for those who want to do a little cooking or eat cereal in the morning. The garage is heated for storing equipment. The wifi and cable worked well at night. Would recommend this place given what the hotel at Stowe charges per night...

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend in Paige and Craig's beautiful apartment on their spectacular property. The apartment was spacious, bright and clean with absolutly everything we needed. Paige and Craig were very welcoming and have a wealth of knowledge of all the things there are to do in the Stowe area. We are looking forward to our next stay in this fantastic property.

My wife,17yr old son and myself stayed at the property and we enjoyed the morning views before we set off the ski Stowe close by.The suite is clean,comfortable and very relaxing.We will stay here again if we return to the area.Well worth investigating to stay at. Paige and Craig are very knowledgeable of the area if you want to explore the many activities the area provides. P.S Their 2 dogs are great .

My wife and I stayed a long Columbus Day weekend in the apartment and couldn't have been more pleased. The property is one of the most beautiful we've stayed on, with a large lawn stretching down to a lovely pond and surrounded by wooded mountains. Located just five minutes from Stowe, the place nonetheless was deep into the country, and we couldn't have picked a better time for fall foliage. Outside our window was an incredible display of mountain colors. I had had some qualms about staying above a garage, but my fears were quickly dispatched. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, and beautifully appointed, and the separate entrance gave us a sense of privacy. We felt at home right away. And that was supported by our hosts. Craig and Paige were great to deal with, friendly and helpful. All in all, we couldn't have asked for more. We'll recommend 100-Acre Wood to friends and plan to return ourselves.

My partner and I have just returned from spending 3 glorious days and nights at "Hundred Acre Wood." The apartment was exactly what we needed to relax and recharge. The setting is unbelievable -- I described it to a friend as the epitome of "bucolic splendor." We loved the sense of being both isolated and close to Stowe at the same time. And the apartment was great -- comfortable bed, hot shower, functional kitchen, wireless internet. We were able to prepare breakfast each morning and look out at the natural beauty -- just an idyllic way to begin each day! Highly recommended -- especially if you like to relax and set your own pace without the hassles of schedules and communal dining that you would get at a B&B.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at this immaculate, charming apartment just a short drive from Stowe village and mountain. The apartment is located on a lovely countryside property and has a private entrance through the garage. The proprietors are wonderful: very prompt to respond to any queries and they kindly provided us with an extra blanket and kitchen supplies at a moment's notice. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

I was fortunate to stay in this lovely rental for one month. It is perhaps one of the most beautiful settings for a private home that I have seen in Vermont. The gardens on the property were in full bloom during my stay and they are magnificent.The owners of the property are an energetic and beautiful family who made me feel welcome and comfortable. They offered full access to their property and I enjoyed many long walks and evenings sitting by the swimming pond. My stay in Vermont was for business purposes and I found this location convenient to shopping, downtown Stowe, and to my job setting (Williston). The drive each morning was something that I looked forward to..simply breathtaking. I highly recommend this rental. It was one of the most peaceful and enjoyable stays I have ever experienced.
