PERFECT VACATION RENTAL

We had a "friends gathering" at the Sand Castle- it was perfect- wonderful layout-loved cooking, eating and visiting in the "great room" (kitchen/dinningroom/living room all one) and overlooking the ocean. The beds were "to die for"- like sleeping on a cloud". Location was perfect for a walk on the beach or driving to town to shop. We will be back!!

We spent the 4 days over Christmas with our daughter, her boyfriend and his parents. The house was just wonderful. We had plenty of room to cook, visit, play games and just relax. The views are spectacular and beach access was great. The owners were gone so we did not get to meet them but they did call to make sure everything was in order. I really appreciated that. We would love to return sometime. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable. The house was very clean.

Sand Castle is a gorgeous home. It is very spacious, well-maintained and comfortable home. It is exceptionally clean and nicely furnished. It was open and airy. All the windows provided wonderful light and fabulous views. Open the window in your bedroom and listen to the waves. What a wonderful way to get lulled to sleep or wake in the morning. The owners are wonderful people. They are very helpful and gracious and sincerely care about their homes and their guests. We would strongly recommend this home to anyone who wants an exceptional stay at the Oregon Coast. We definitely plan to return.

Nice location, clean and nice accommodations. Beds were comfortable. The house was warm for us (visited end of March & first of April) - perhaps the heating system should be adjusted. We would visit again! Thank you.

Our family stayed at this gorgeous beach house in July 2010. The place was spotless, the view was extraordinary, and all of the accommodations were simply fabulous! We stayed with our extended famiy and thus, there were 9 of us sharing the home. There are three beautiful bedrooms and three bathrooms. We never had to worry about waiting for a bathroom! The kitchen was perfect for fixing a crab louis salad and for making breakfast ,or anything else we needed. Beach towels were available, as well as patio chairs and small tables for sitting outside and enjoying the outstanding ocean views. My favorite part of the home was its easy beach access and the fact that we saw whales from the deck on our last day there! They were so worth it all! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We loved this home! Big ocean view windows, beautiful kitchen, plush linens and beds, awesome jet tub, nice big screen tv's, together with being the cleanest property we've ever stayed at... made us feel like we were at a 5 star resort! Loved being able to talk directly with the owners, they were very kind and pleasant, offering great suggestions of where to eat in Yachats. Even though there are two small houses that this property overlooks directly west, it does not detract from the view, and it is a beautiful clear ocean front view to the North. Thank you! Great place to relax. Nice little town. Great hiking trails to explore. We will be back.

We had a very enjoyable 10 days at Our Sand Castle. You have a high-quality, clean, neat accomodation which made our stay a pleasure. I highly recommend your place. I enjoyed the quick, easy access to the beach. Being from the prairies, it was a treat to be able to go for daily jogs and enjoy the magnificence of the ocean.

Our Sand Castle is the perfect place to come to with two families or one large family. There is plenty of space and it is renovated beautifully and very comfortable. The beach is just a few steps away and the hosts are friendly and gracious. We will be back for sure!

Absolutely beautiful. Our experience staying at the Sand Castle was truly incredible. Not only is the beach house a wonderful retreat but having the beach so accessible an added benefit. We had a houseful with in-laws, stepchildren, stepparents and everything in-between, but the thoughtful amenities, comfortable beds and breathtaking views made our stay at Our Sand Castle truly spectacular. We had everything we needed to make meals, sleep comfortably and entertain ourselves with the big-screen TV, free wi-fi Internet access and collection of books and games. Having the beach access just off the back deck was very convenient. The entire house was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and had quite a few modern upgrades. It was also very quiet, so we could listen to the nearby ocean as much as we wanted. Don and Linda are very pleasant to deal with, and they promptly answered all of our questions to make our stay comfortable and easy. We will be staying here again, and we will definitely be recommending this rental to our friends!

I would recomend this beautiful home for anyone wanting a relaxing time. The house is beautiful and spacious with a great kitchen. The views from the front room are spectacular. We had a great time and will be coming back in the future.

We enjoyed Our Sand Castle over the Christmas holiday 2008. We've rented several Oregon coast homes over the last several years and this is by far the nicest. The kitchen is the best equipped of any we've seen and the granite countertops are beautiful. The home was very clean and wonderfully maintained. There was plenty of room for the eight of us ranging in ages from 9 to 62. We were all comfortable.

Comment Text: I have stayed with friends at the Sand Castle property a number of times and recommend it to anyone craving a blissful getaway, oceanside. It is obvious that the owners of this property care very much about their guests' stay, as the accommodations are extemely well appointed and perfectly located on miles of beautiful and dramatic Pacific beach. Yachats is a charming community offering excellent dining, Cape Perpetua views, and incredible tidepool exploration. If you stay at the Sand Castle, you will want to return for so many reasons. I recommend the Celtic Music festival in November, but any time I have visited this area has been immensely enjoyable. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Don and Linda for sharing your Castle with us!

I'm reluctant to write a review because then so many people will know how wonderful the Sand Castle is. The owners are very nice. They keep this wonderful home perfect. The ocean views are great. The stairs to the beach are wonderful. They take the time to make sure your stay is perfect. We stayed two years ago in their smaller unit, the Sand Dollar. We thought the Sand Dollar was wonderful too. This year we were traveling with another family that's why we chose to stay in the bigger home. There were eight of us and we had plenty of room. It's centrally located, so you can see all the sites on the Oregon Coast. I would recommend any properties owned by this couple. It's better than staying with family. We will definately be back in the future. I agree with another review, the properties are even better in person. The pictures do not do them justice. They are model home perfect.

Our family of four shared this wonderful place with our good friends family of four and found this place to be totally relaxing and a place to unwind. We listened to the waves from the house, strolled the beach and collected shells and sanddollars. It was very clean and the property owners were there to help with any questions we had. It was spacious enought to give privacy to both of our families. The house is centrally located on the coast to provide access to just about anywhere up and down the coast as well as inland Oregon. I would highly recommend this to another person or family.

Our family of five (two adults, two twentish, one 18 year old plus Grandma stayed for a week in this AMAZING home. The view of the Pacific Ocean front, including some roaring winter storms was so inspiring and breathtaking. The very short path/steps to the beach was well built and easily traveled leading to a beautiful long beach that we walked and walked on. The home was spacious, functional, and beautifully furnished. It was perfectly clean, with WIFI, we used constantly, dish TV, and great beds. The owners are great. I would recommend this property wholeheartedly. We hope to return.

A whale of a view

This was our family's first visit to the west coast (from Ohio) and Yachats came highly recommended. We searched many internet sites for a home with 4 bedrooms and enough baths to acccommodate our family, and we were blessed to find "Our Sand Castle." Still, seeing is believing and it was with trepidation that we pulled into the driveway that first evening. We worried needlessly- the home and its surroundings were even better than the photos and descriptions. We saw whales from the balcony and a seal on the beach; collected sand dollars at low tide; ran miles on the beach and in forested parks; visited lighthouses, tidepools and brewery pubs; and, enjoyed the towns of Yachats and Newport. It was a magical week in a magical place.
