Location: Truro, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + Library, 2 Baths (Sleeps 9-10)
Spacious 4 bedroom 2500 sq.ft. Cape on one acre in historic quiet Castle Road area with short path behind house to Pamet River for kayaking to walks/sunrises/sunsets. Light-filled beautifully decorated home with large open LR/DR and family rooms, each with fireplace. Details include built-in bookcases in family room and library; oversized kids bedroom equipped with toys and books; hardwood floors; and large farmhouse dining table (seats 8) and large outdoor wooden table (seats 8). Landscaped yard with room for croquet, volleyball, badminton and pick up soccer. There is a path along the Pamet River, a tidal river, behind house good for walks/jogging. Walk to Truro Center for espresso, homemade cinnamon rolls and the morning paper or nearby Castle Hill Arts Center. 3 minute drive to Corn Hill Beach (bay); 5 minute drive to Ballston Beach (ocean). All cotton linens and bath and beach towels provided. Badminton/hammock/beach chairs/croquet provided. Great cycling area.
Relax: Lounge in the sun-filled, comfy house - or in the Adirondack chairs in the yard - with towering pines, locust trees, forsythia and roses. Enjoy the evening southwestern breezes. Stroll down our private path to the Pamet River side, coffee cup and book in hand, to read in ultimate peace and privacy. Beaches: We think the Truro beaches are the most beautiful on the Cape, available to Truro residents/renters. Our favorite oceanside spot is Ballston Beach, with its dramatic dunes, uncrowded sand, and waves that make for great dips in the water and boogie-boarding. Our favorite bay beach is at Corn Hill, reached directly at the end of Castle Road. Recreation: Kayak/canoe the Pamet River behind the house; nearby bike trails, hikes, and golfing (Highland Links overlooking the Atlantic Ocean). Fantastic cycling area.

I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely cottage on Castle Road in Truro in early July.It was a true gift to be able to step into this home and slow down from my urban ways. The bell tower chimed each hour and I was reminded of my trips to France.I would sit out on the teak table and have my coffee under the locust tree.I could have sat there lost in thought for hours.Truro is very wild and natural. The beaches are not crowded.I took a walk with my Dad to the Snow cemetery up the street. What history there! Our rooms were each decorated with charm and I loved the fresh cotton linens to sink into after a day outdoors. Our stay in this homey cottage was a rejuvenating experience for my entire family.I would recommend this property to all including the fussy traveler. Thank You, Jane in Maplewood,NJ
