My husband and I returned last week from this fabulous resort. We are very particular about where we stay and I truly could find little wrong with every aspect of this resort. Check in/out was effortless and the service was great. Everyone you passed greeted you with a smile. The room (studio) was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The pool area is one of the best features. The hotel was busy, but because of the pool layout...3 main pools, kids pool, and interconnecting waterways...it was never crowded. There were 2 days when we were the only ones in the pool for the majority of the day. Poolside service was always available. There are so many fabulous restaurants in the Hotel zone (we did not add all inclusive option). and many were within walking distance. We are actually considering this for our family vacation spot next year...it was that great! Thanks for sharing your unit with us.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

we have never stayed at a better place in Cancun and we have been going there for 20 years the service is the best... it really is a great 5 star resort in every way! none better and wow what a great price... we felt like a king and queen... it happens every time! these people know how to make you feel great ans that is what a resort is all about.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

The resort was fabulous!! We had a great time. The concierge was helpful with directions to different places and the different bus schedules. Everyone was courteous and I felt the service was great. We enjoyed our time there and recommend everyone to go there.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

Not impressed at all with the Gran Melia Cancun Resort....Food never hot....rude employees...never stayed in a place in Cancun with such sour puss faces at the pool or in the dining areas. The sweetest people were the maids!!! Air conditoning went out in our bedroom....then air in living room was leaking all over the floor by front entrance.......Consierge tried...But have to say Ricardo the resident manager was very kind and tried his best to make our last few days pleasant....so a thank you to Ricardo
Owner response:The Gran Melia Resort and Spa Cancun is a AAA Four Diamond rated resort,and a RCI Gold Crown Resort. Perhaps the service was too formal for the travelers' tastes. We spend the winter at this resort and understand that the five star restaurants may be too fussy for a couple used to a different style of service. As for the wait staff around the pools and informal restuarants, we have found them professional and not overly familiar. Even five star resorts have maintenance issues. Any we have encountered at this resort during our extensive winter stays have been addressed and resolved promptly. Since we stay so frequently and for so long at this resort, we are in weekly contact with the resort management staff. Quite frankly, they found them difficult to please. Of course, we had hoped their stay would be as wonderful as for dozens of other guests we have sent, but apparently this was not the case for this couple.
Recommended for:Age 55+.
