We love our cottage and we hope you do as well! We geared our renovations toward relaxation and easy maintenance. We tried to stock everything you'd need to ensure a great time (and to keep you from having to bring up the kitchen sink). We have a large variety of movies (Kid friendly), games and toys (including beach toys) for your enjoyment. The basement is set up with toys, games, cable TV and is a safe and fun environment ... there is also plenty of room to play in the huge backyard, side yard or on the beautiful sandy beach. The entire layout of the home is geared toward outside activities and entertaining on the new 20 x 40 deck. Perfect for eating, laying out, watching the kids play, cooking on the grill, watching wildlife or the boats and my favorite ... sleeping.
We love our fires at night, and we have two fire pits. One up on top overlooking the beach and water and the other on the beach. Feel free to pitch a tent on the beach, that is an experience you won't forget.

We have made many renovations to make it an enjoyable and relaxing environment. To mention a few: gutted the kitchen and bath(s), 8 ft door wall and two French doors that open up to the huge deck (20 x 40), natural stone exterior, knotty pine walls and tile galore, plus hundreds of other items you would never notice!
The house is set off the road and we have plenty of room for additional parking on the side lot, driveway holds 4-6 vehicles.
The house next door is also available for renting to entertain large parties, ask for details. Our house is your house, make yourself at home!

- We have a large selection of games available including a basketball net, pool table, beach toys, inflatables, horse shoes, volleyball net, soccer ball and some fishing equipment. Of course it is hard to guarantee that all of these things will work when you get there because it is difficult to monitor their condition. As you can imagine, things break and turn up missing but we really try to keep a good selection of items available. I would venture to say that we have way more than most homes you would rent!!

Why the Owner Chose Traverse City
My parents have had a cottage in Traverse City for over 25 years and it was always a goal of mine to have a family getaway in that area. We just love the Traverse City area and plan on to retire up there in about 10 years!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
We really spend our time relaxing. We often go up there with a long list of activities and find ourselves night after night in front of the fire pit. Just listening to the water crash on the shore and watching out for the Bald Eagles flying across the water, you just can't beat it!!

What more can you ask for? Close proximity to downtown Traverse City, huge deck overlooking Lake Michigan, large side- and back-yard perfect for throwing around the football, big, updated kitchen with all sorts of kitchen wares, and well appointed bedrooms. The house even includes a stereo system with indoor and outdoor speakers. I would absolutely rent this home again. Plus, the owner was kind and easy to work with. The updated house and wonderful views of Lake Michigan (all within very easy driving distance of downtown Traverse City) makes for happy renters.

September is rainiest month in Traverse City. I chose this house over other similarly nice properties because listing cited a pool table and video games which would occupy my teenage boys if we got socked in by rain. Well, when we arrived at the house, there was no pool table or video games as stated. I let the owner know, but he was unsympathetic. Apparently, the listing does not get updated regularly, and he is OK with that. Renter Beware! Good house, good location, but traffic noise is loud and continuous.
Owner response:I tried talking to this man but he was stuck on the fact that we didn't have a pool table and video games as stated in our listing. I explained that we haven't been up there to monitor what's missing and broken. Our cottage was rented all Summer and we didn't have a chance to get up there and see if we could repair the pool table. I apologized many many times and felt really bad that his kids were disapointed. The pool table was broken by a prior renter who let their 14 yr old stand on it and it collapsed. The video games were removed from the property along with the game box. We don't know who took it nor did we know it was missing! We instructed the cleaning company to have the pool table removed until we could fix or replace it. I was very upset that he didn't enjoy his time up there. I still feel bad for this man. I would have given him money back but he could never talk in a calm voice. I don't change much on the vrbo site because I assume most renters are going to rent it for the views and the beautiful beach. The ammenities are there for the renters convenience and we don't provide babysittging. My wife and I care a lot about each and every person who stays at our cottage. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy their time up there and be safe around the fire pit and water. If you have any reservations about staying with us, let me know, we will provide you with a list of refferals. If you do not think you received your money's worth and can stay composed, I will refund a portion of your money.......guaranteed!!

I chose to rent this gorgeous house for my best friend's Bachelorette Party/Weekend Getaway in Traverse City, and we couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay!! The pictures do not do the place justice, it is so much better than it looks on the website!! We were so happy with everything about the house, from the view, the private beach, the perfect large deck, the clean and newly updated house (especially the kitchen-- I was in love!), abundant and comfortable sleeping quarters, and having relaxation and tranquility at our fingertips! The house was equipped with just about everything you could need for your getaway. With the perfect location in the beautiful peace and quiet on West Bay, you're wonderfully close to Downtown and numerous other activities! Don't hesitate to book your getaway in this gorgeous house, I can't wait to stay here again!!

WOW! What a beautiful place. The location was excellent with alot of things to do (shopping, dining, casino, water sports). The place had everything you could possibly need other than your clothes and you didn't need many due to having the washer and dryer. The kitchen and bathroom is amazing and was equipped with EVERYTHING. The house was very clean inside and out with a beautiful deck that we entertained on morning till night with a spectacular view of the bay. Everyone wants to come back every year. The photo's were beautiful but you need to see this in person, amazing. The water is so clear that you can see every rock and is shallow for quite a distance (great for the little one's). We are hooked.

Pictures do not do this place justice! We went to a wedding in Traverse City and the hotel rates were MUCH higher than renting this home. Excellent location, beautiful beach, home is very well kept and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this place. The location and view is nothing short of spectacular. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and clean. Plenty of chairs and areas to lounge and relax. And the beach...oh that beach was a mega hit with the kids! Perfect place to bring your family to chill out on the deck during the day and roast marshmallows in the evening by the fire pit.

Our family loved our stay at this cottage last summer. There is so much to do! We were outside from morning until night, enjoying the beach, deck and water. The marina is close by as well as many great restaurants and bars. At night we especially liked to roast marshmallows over the fire and watch the moon come up over that awesome West Bay! We look forward to staying there again.

My family has rented this home a couple times, in both winter and summer and absolutely LOVE it! The home is very comfy and extremely clean. The view from the new deck is fabulous!! The location is perfect, about 15-20 minute drive from downtown Traverse and close to several Wineries! We look forward to our next get away!
