This large air-conditioned condo sleeps six. It has one queen-sized bed in the Master bedroom on the ground floor, and four twin-beds upstairs, two in the loft and two in the second bedroom. Each room has its own adjustable thermostat and temperature zone. Ocean Edge Resort has everything - three swimming pools, two restaurants, tennis and basketball courts, golf course, walking, biking, roller blade pathways, bay side and ocean beaches nearby. The condo is located in Howland Village only a short walk from the forested trails and fresh water ponds of nearby Nickerson State Park, about 1/2-mile from the nearest swimming pool (Fletcher). The paved Cape Cod Rail Trail passes through the resort and goes for miles and miles in all directions, providing a safe place to walk, jog, or ride for strenuous fitness runs or leisurely family outings with small children.

Ocean Edge Resort includes several condo villages located around an award winning Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. This unit in Howland Village also happens to be close to Nickerson State Park, a thickly forested wild life preserve right in the heart of Cape Cod. Paved and unpaved trails lead to fresh water ponds and beautiful pristine beaches. Or get on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and go for miles in either direction by foot, bike, or roller blade. You'll pass through deeply wooded areas, alongside freshwater ponds, through natural meadows, across salt marshes, and see quaint historic village centers with ancient cemeteries speaking of the love affair people have had with the Cape for centuries. The National Park Service operates a Visitor's Center that explains how the Cape came to be, and how it is likely to look 10,000 years from now. A winery tour is another option for those who only want to spend part of their time on the legendary bay side and ocean beaches.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2001

The owners live in northern NJ near NYC, where he works for a large charitable foundation; she is a full-time grandmother. They visit the Cape often -- every change they get, actually. This condo is their second home, which they happily share with others when they are unable to use it themselves.

Why the Owner Chose Brewster

The owners have vacationed in Brewster every summer for the last 25 years. About 20 years ago, they discovered these lovely rental units at Ocean Edge Resort, and after renting for five years, decided they needed to become owners of one. This mode of vacationing proved very satisfactory for their growing family , while still offering the convenience of a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a washer and dryer, and space to spread out a bit, compared to cramped hotel rooms. Being able to make their own meals, the total cost worked out to be about the same as staying at a motel. No wonder they are so popular with growing families.

The Unique Benefits of this Condo

The owners want to provide guests with a rental unit that includes all the little things that they learned they needed when they were renters; things like sheets & pillow cases, good air conditioning throughout (not just a window or wall unit), clean, well maintained bathrooms, and a full kitchen, since many people prefer to prepare their own meals, especially when traveling as a family.

Our vacation was very relaxing and this home was very comfortable. The wireless internet and air conditioning was a very big bonus. They both worked beautifully. The property is clean and in a safe and private location. The owner provided everything needed to enjoy our vacation and more. I highly recommend this rental.
