Great Vacation Spot

My family and I have rented this lovely lakefront house several times and always enjoyed our stay. Great fishing at this spot!!. It has always been clean and well taken care of. The owner makes sure everything is in working order and that we are content. Arrowhead Lakes has many fine amenities-- 2 lakes, several public beaches with playground equipment for kids picnic tables & bbq grilles; three swimming pools; tennis courts and many activities for all ages. I would recommend this vacation home highly and plan on revisiting this summer.

Recommended for:People with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Beautiful Place!! Beautiful View

We rented this house again recently--Easter 2010, and have been renting it for quite a number of years, especially in the summer. The house has a beautiful view, right on the lake, has always been clean and the grounds taken care of and has been updated during the years. We've always had a wonderful time. The owner makes sure, by contacting us when we are there, that everything is in working order and if we have any concerns, she addresses them. We've never had any major problems. We are looking forward to another week's vacation this summer. I have also recommended this beautiful property to friends who expect to book vacations this summer.

Not a great place

We rented this home in August,2009. The carpets are filthy and spotted, not safe for a young child to crawl or lay on. They are also duct taped together in spots.The windows appear to not have been cleaned for at least a year. The coffee pot was filthy, the garbage can had dried old ketchup it. I used half a bottle of 409 cleaning the place, and I am not a germophobic. The lawn was never mowed, the "sandy beach" had no sand. Some of the beaches were close for several days due to an e-coli problem. I do not recommend this property.

Owner response:This is the first complaint I ever received. I did check with these renters a day or 2 after they arrived and they said all was fine. Several days later, they called and said they needed vac bags and would I reimburse them, which I did. They also mentioned the windows and i offered to have my cleaning lady come over and handle any concerns they had. They declined. but I had her call them anyway and offer to take care of any cleaning issues they had. They mentioned nothing about the windows to her or any other major concerns, and said it was not necessary for her to come over. As for the rugs, they were steam-cleaned in June and no else complained. As far as the lack of a Sandy Beach, repairs (due to winter storm damage) were begun in the spring to be completed before the rental season. Two-thirds of them were done by May, but the contractor ran into problems and kept promising each week that all would be completed the following week. He never finished, and it was too late hire someone else to do this specialty work. NO one else complained and the beach """had""" sand and was usable just not as pretty as the pictures. I hired another contractor who could only and did complete the work right after Labor Day. As far as the grass goes, it had been cut faithfully every two weeks thru July. I had no idea it was not cut in August--the renters never mentioned it. I also hired another landscaper for next season. My private beach was "not" affected by any water problems and was usable. Nor was i informed by Arrowhead Lakes of any other water issues. I am sorry these renters found so much fault with my home, but no one else did and all is in tip top shape for next summer.
