Owner Description

Hi. My name is Linda Auerbach and I own this beach duplex with Shari and Marie. Living on Cape Cod we always enjoyed watching the cottages by the beach fill with summer vacationers. What fun they seem to have! In 2009 our beach duplex became available. It was an opportunity to own our own place by the beach! Everyone should have a chance to live by the beach. Not only do we enjoy the duplex ourselves, but we also invite you to do the same!!
Why the Owner Chose Centerville
Craigville Beach has an open view of Nantucket Sound, Hyannisport, and Osterville. You can take long walks on the beach. If you walk long enough you can walk through the small sand dunes to the fresh water river. At the duplex you can eat in, grill out, or go to the local restaurants for casual and fine dining. It's easy to get around, but you are going to want to stay where you are.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
The fact that you can get up and walk out your door to the beach is a real treat. An outdoor shower to enjoy, great space to eat and to lounge outdoors while enjoying the view. It doesn't get much better than that.

My two girlfriends and I stayed in the cottage for a long 4 day weekend. It was absolutely what we expected and hoped for. Linda and her husband were more than helpful and accommodating! The cottage was clean and charming. The beach was literally across the street. Also, the highlight of the cottage for us was the fireplace. We sat by the fire every night with the window open and listened to the ocean. It was truly a relaxing and refreshing experience. Hyannis, Sandwich, and Provincetown were day trips that also turned out to be wonderful bonuses to our trip. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Linda!!
Owner response:We were glad to know that you enjoyed the gas fireplaced living room. It adds to the coziness of a cool evening by the beach. Our beach house is winterized for the cooler weather and can be enjoyed inside and out. Please do come again. linda

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the beach in this charming cottage. Linda and Marie are very attentive to every detail and our small children really loved the grassy knoll, the outdoor picnic table and the outdoor shower, not to mention the wonderful Craigville Beach across the street. We never had to worry about parking--a rarity over the busy Fourth of July weekend. We would love to stay here again!
Owner response:We're glad you enjoyed your stay! Our beach house is just steps to the beach. It's great to walk back to your own place and shower off in the outdoor shower, and still enjoy the views from the house. Our private parking area allows ample space for large and small vehicles. Do come again, we would love to have you. linda

Cottage neat and clean. Perfect for our anniversary getaway. No one next door in the duplex during our stay so plenty of privacy. Beach is a one minute walk across the street. Ocean views. Thanks Linda!
Owner response:We enjoy having people who look forward to a visit by the beach!! We are glad that you were able to relax and enjoy the quiet of our duplex. The off season does allow for some wonderful alone time as each unit has its own entrance and private areas to hang out in and enjoy the beach views. Please do come again!!!

We rented this cottage a couple of weeks ago. In our party we had 4 adults and 1 toddler and could all fit in the space comfortably. The cottage had everything you could think of! Just be aware, you are on a main road. It is quiet in the evening but very busy during the day. We rented the side with the deck which was absolutely beautiful. The cottage was clean and well kept! In addition, the cottage is in the perfect location! Not only are you right across from the beach but you are centrally located in Cape Cod which makes day trips extremely easy. We visited Hyannis which had great shopping and food, Provincetown for a whale watch, and stopped in Mashpee at the Children's Museum, and we went kayaking! The owners are easy to work with and very responsive to any questions or needs that may arise! Loved, loved, loved this rental. We are sure to return in the future!
Owner response:Thank you Jenny! We enjoyed communicating with you and having you and your friends stay at our beach house. The place was left in great shape and it's people like you that making sharing our place fun! We do hope to see you again. linda

This property offers everything you need for your stay. It is right across from a gorgeous beach and we had beautiful sunsets. My sisters and I will always remember our late night beach outings just walking along the shore, chatting having a cocktail. We will come back and rent this house again. Linda is very nice and was always emailing me about things to do, directions to places and ideas for us. Thanks!!!
Owner response:Hi Kim, It was so great to hear about the good time you had at our beach house. We look forward to your next visit!!! linda

Couldn't have asked for a better location for our weekend in Centerville. We wanted a place to stay while we attended a wedding in nearby Osterville. This duplex cottage was perfect! It was clean, cozy and comfortable. The outside shower was a treat with hot water and great water pressure. Linens and house towels were provided. Wi-fi was available, and the owner responded right away when I couldn't get a signal-just required rebooting by hitting a switch on the wall. The owners were very accommodating and timely with their response to our request for just a weekend stay, and charged us a reasonable price. We were on the "grassy knoll" side, complete with outside chairs and a picnic table. The other unit was also rented, but we did not have any issues with noise or disturbances from them. The cottage is literally steps across the street from the beach. We took advantage of that with morning walks in the sun, and evening walks under the stars, as well as a short stay of sitting and enjoying the beach. The water was warm, lots of shells along the shore, and lifeguards were on duty. This was a great alternative to a hotel.
Owner response:Thank you for the great review!! We enjoy having people who like to live by the beach and the conveniences our area has to offer. Thank you for taking great care of the place too! We look forward to having you return. Have a great summer, linda

Sept. 12, 2010 Just back from a great week on the Cape...we found this rental via this site, and were very pleased with the location, the condition of the place, and the overall vibe of Centerville (quiet and family-friendly). When we go away we're not looking for a wild scene, and this was perfect. PROS: We LOVED the location—literally across the street to the beach and with great access to shopping/restaurants and Four Seas Ice Cream (crucial)! Going to/from the beach simply can't be any easier than it is from this location, as we were steps away! The house is in great condition, everything like new, and linens/towels are included--and they aren't threadbare. Carpeting is also obviously new, and the place smelled fresh and dry, with no trace of the moldy/funky smell you sometimes find in a beach rental. The owners were terrific to deal with and left great recommendations for breakfast (The Daily Paper) and directions to the local grocery store and a few other spots. We had the deck side, so we were able to sit out there with views of the Sound and the stars. MINOR cons: The house sits on (facing) Craigville Beach Rd, which is a pretty busy street. We arrived the day before Labor Day and there was a considerable change in the volume of traffic (and accompanying noise) by Tuesday morning. The wireless Internet service went out twice--but one of the owners came over in less than 10 mins to reboot the system (the router was in the other unit), and it worked fine other than those outages. She said they may change the hookup to avoid this problem in the future. Note that the other unit was empty the week that we were there; not sure what the sound levels would be like from either side if there are people in both--just know that it could happen! Overall, a great rental experience; owners very accommodating, and they've thought of almost everything you could need for a week at the beach!

We spent the 4th of July week at your cottage and had a fantastic vacation. The best part was being so close to the beach...we often visited the beach several times a day. The interior was very clean and tasteful. Perfect for our family of three. In the evening we spent time on the porch and enjoyed the breeze. We visited Hyannis, Brewster, Eastham (Nauset Light) and Harwichport. We went on a Deep Sea Fishing trip and enjoyed our entire week. I will highly recommend this rental to friends or family. One of favorite places to visit was Four Seas Ice Cream!

We just stayed at this property over Labor Day and totally loved it! We literally left our shoes in the driveway and walked across the road to the beach, which is gorgeous with beautiful sand, tons of shells, a volleyball net and public restrooms. The rental property was clean, comfortable and well furnished (including everything from sheets to a coffeemaker). The side we stayed on had a very large "master" bedroom with a comfortable king size bed. The unit was perfect for us and our one year old and would be great for a small family. The only thing I was initially hesitant about was the fact that it is located on a main road, however, the traffic moved rather slowly since it is a beach road and after 9p.m the area was very quiet. There are snackbars within walking distance if you don't feel like cooking as well as some great local restaurants. We hated to leave and can't wait to return.
